    Ik heb in dit hotel 2 nachten geslapen. Woensdagochtend 19 augustus vroeg in Sydney aangekomen en ik kon direct om 08.00 inchecken in het hotel. Het hotel is gesitueerd op loopafstand van 1 van de vele 'railway stations' in Sydney (Museum) De kamer, het bed, en de douche zijn goed naar behoren. Ik zat op de 3e verdieping en had geen last van het verkeer. Kortom een fijn fijn hotel om er een paar nachten te verblijven.

    We hadden dit hotel gekozen op basis van erg aantrekkelijke foto's, die luxe beloofden voor een interessante prijs. De grote lobby leek wat gedateerd, vonden we eerst, een beetje seventies, en we zagen een luchter die stuk was... dus vreesden we dat het hotel vergane glorie was. Tot we de kamer zagen: ruim, aangenaam, stijlvol ingericht; schitterende badkamer (badjassen en pantoffels ook altijd prettig!)... Bovendien was het personeel enorm vriendelijk, zowel aan de receptie als het kamerpersoneel. Elke avond kwam iemand om een uur of 6 vragen of ze ons bed moesten klaarmaken voor de nacht. 's Morgens lag de krant voor de deur. Je kan ook geen betere locatie wensen: de marina, van waaruit iedereen naar het barrièrerif vertrekt, ligt als het ware aan de achterdeur. We hadden ongewoon slecht weer in Cairns - 4 dagen regen tijdens 'the dry season"- maar ik had me geen betere plaats kunnen voorstellen om die dagen door te brengen.
