    Het Meriton hotel is een (erg) groot hotel, net buiten de oude stad. Je loopt in ongeveer 10 minuten naar de kathedraal die op het hoogste punt van de oude stad ligt. Vandaar kun je zo de oude stad in lopen, waar het m.n. 's-avonds - na vertrek van de dagjesmensen - een stuk rustiger is om te lopen en om een restaurant te vinden. Een tip om goed en voordelig te eten: loop even aan het lage deel van de oude stad het moderne Tallinn in en na 5 minuten lopen eet je voor 1/3 van de prijs in de oude stad. Omdat er in de buurt van het hotel wordt gebouwd (je hebt daar overigens geen last van) is het aan de zijkant wat rommelig. Onder het hotel is ruim voldoende (betaalde) parkeerplaats als je met een (huur)auto reist. Wij verbleven 2 nachten in het nieuwe deel van het hotel met prima kamers met goede airco (zeer handig in de zomer). Omdat de ramen dicht zijn (kunnen ook niet open) zijn de kamers erg rustig. Goed geslapen en daar gaat het uieindelijk om. Het ontbijt is ruim gevarieerd, wel wat massaal. Omdat de gasten gebruik kunnen maken van twee restaurants en er diverse buffetten is het overigens niet hinderlijk. Wij hebben geen echte minpunten bij dit hotel kunnen ontdekken.
