Sheraton Roma Hotel & Conference Center in Rome

Pro : netheid kamers, goed ontbijt in aangename rustige omgeving. Contra : nogal ver van het centrum van Rome maar dit wordt goedgemaakt door de zeer stipte shutteldienst van het hotel (3 euro PP HT). Kamers zijn wel wat gedateerd.

Hadden hoge verwachtingen van dit hotel, maar alles viel tegen. Het eten, het zwembad, het derde bed op onze kamer. Heel en heel slecht dineren in de avond bij ongezellig licht. Verblijf in hotel heel erg duur.

Prettig hotel met goede service, vooral de hotelbus naar het centrum is een pre voor dit hotel. Het voordeel van een rustig, luxe hotel en toch eenvoudig in het centrum kunnen komen. Fijn zwembad bij het hotel met een gezellige hotelbar, heerlijk na het bezoeken van één van de vele bezienswaardigheden van Rome. Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

Hotel is a bit outdated, however it is very clean and comfortable. Hotel is not located that far from the city (about 20 min drive). The hotel offers a very good Shuttle bus service for € 3 per person to the city. Return from the city is free. I would recommend you to buy the Roma pass. Het is een 4 sterren hotel, ietwat verouderde inrichting in de lobby. Ook de kamers wat ouderwets ingericht, wel erg comfortabele bedden en een zeer schone badkamer. Elke dag werd alles zorgvuldig gepoetst en bijgevuld. Mooi zwembad buiten met loungzitjes en ligbedden. Geweldig ontbijtbuffet, alles wat je maar kon bedenken was aanwezig. In een woord fantastisch hotel en zeker een aanrader. Vooral de shuttlebus naar het centrum van Rome voor 3 euro is super.

Wij hebben geen gebruik gemaakt van het openbaar vervoer dus daar kan ik weinig over vertellen. Het hotel bied zelf een prima service naar het centrum en weer terug, de hele dag door, kaartje kost slechts 3 Eur. Leuk om te doen, een 2-daagse pas voor de hop on hop off bus, kost 27 Eur. Leek ons beter dan de Roma pas, ook gezien de shuttleservice vanuit […] het hotel. Lange rijen bij zowel het Vaticaan als bij het Coluseum. Tip; als je eerst Forum Romana doet en daar je kaartje koopt hoef je bij het Coluseum niet in de wachtrijen te staan. Het kaartje is geldig voor 3 sites en kost 12 Eur. De lift bij de St.Pieter kost 7 Eur., maar ook hier erg lange wachtrijen. In die tijd kun je toch veel andere mooie dingen bezoeken. De Vaticaanse musea zeker doen!!! Wij waren er 8 dagen maar ook dan moet je keuzes maken. Rome is redelijk overzichtelijk en compact maar er is gewoon zoveel te zien, één openlucht museum. Volgende keer doen we de rest en o.a Tivoli, dit ligt 50 km. buiten Rome en voor de rest wil je naast al het culturele toch ook nog gewoon genieten van al het culinaire en het lekkere zonnige weer ( 33 graden was het, beetje warm dus maar ach, mooi excuus voor een extra stop op een terrasje en ijsje eten ). Wat wel prijzig was,maar dat is ook al door meerdere gemeld is, zijn de prijzen voor het eten en drinken in het hotel. Let op, als je iets uit de minibar neemt dan wordt dat meteen geregistreerd, er zit een nl. een chip in het koelkastje!! Ook al kijk je alleen maar even!! Lees meer

Het Sheraton Rome ligt buiten het centrum van Rome, maar door de shuttlebus kun je vele malen per dag (per retour 3,-) naar het Palazzo Venezie in het centrum. Er is ook een shuttle van en naar het vliegveld wat jammer genoeg bij het boeken niet bekend werd. Wij kwamen er achter door beoordelingen van andere gasten en hebben het hotel gebeld voor info. […] Voordeel is dat je even lekker kunt bijkomen van een drukke dag centrum in een goed hotel met heerlijk zwembad en prima terras. (wel wat weinig bedden) En dat is met warm weer wel erg lekker. Prima klantvriendelijk personeel, uistekend ontbijt en prima hapjes aan het zwembad. We moesten om 12 uur uit checken maar mochten nog 3 uur langer in de kamer blijven. Enige nadeel wat wij hadden was dat de kamer een deur had om kamers samen te voegen, die bleek na een paar dagen wel erg veel geluid door te geven van onze buren. Leuk hotel, het duurt ongeveer 20 min met de shuttlebus om bij het centrum te komen. Dit kost overigens 3 euro p.p retour. De metro ligt ongeveer 10 min op loopafstand van het hotel. Enkele reis kost 1 euro naar het centrum. Hiermee wil ik dus laten zien dat het geen belemmering hoeft te zijn om dit hotel te kiezen ook al ligt het uit het centrum. prijs,kwaliteit is uitstekend (hotel+ontbijt) in hotel zijn de prijzen wel redelijk prijzig(drankje en restaurant) Vervoer vanaf hotel geen overbodige luxe ligt in een buitenwijk, waar het nogal stil is en een avondwandeling niet aan te bevelen is. vvor de rest een prima hotel met een leuk zwembad.

Goed hotel, goede service. Mooie tuin met zwembad waar het heerlijk is om 's avonds een hapje te eten. Enige echte nadeel is de afstand van het hotel naar het centrum.

Excellent overall experience. Huge breakfast buffet included. Small shuttle fee to the city to and from. The ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant and bar nightly set the tone for our romantic vacation.

This hotel isn't in the best location, but the Metro is a short 10 minute walk away and can take you anywhere you want to go. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and really helps considering there are no nearby restaraunts. In short, an incredible value for the money and we'd definitely stay there again!

The hotel was as I would expect a Sheraton to be, but like another revuer said, it would be nice to have a kettle in the room. The shuttle bus was useful and the metro was only a short walk away. We enjoyed staying there, but have 2 concerns - the air conditioner was noisy and took a long time to cool off. Also, we did ask for a king or queen size bed but had 2 twin beds instead. Overall, we thought the staff was excellent and the complimentary breakfast plentiful and delicious. We would recommend to friends and family. Thanks.

Nice room, great restaurant a bit expensive, the metro station is about a mile away so its terrible if you are walking with your bags. Taxi is about 20 to 25 euro to the principal attractions in the center of rome. Internet is 16 euro a day!!! However the hotel has good services in general, i would stay here again...

We loved our stay very much. I might be trying to find a different place to stay though if the internet is not changed. It is slow and always busy would be nice if there was free Wi-Fi in the rooms. Expected Sheraton standards got local B&B. The hotel is effectively a staging point for large tour groups. Understaffed reception means if you try to check in when a group arrives you'll have to wait (I waited 45 minutes!). Breakfast was more like chimps tea party in terms of food quality (fruit salad from tins and cold eggs) and service (find yourself […] a table if there is one available and hope no one else sits in it while you get your food). I have no problem with this hotel where cleanliness and room comfort are concerned. My issue is with the location. I booked this hotel thinking it is within walking distance from the nearest metro (Eur Magliana) to the hotel. The staff at the hotel would tell you it is a 700M walk, in my opinion this is not true. It is not a straight road to the hotel. […] However you could take a bus (bus number 31 and 2 other buses) from the station to the hotel. Do remember to press the bus bell early before the Sheraton stop. We did but the bus bell did not work, and so we missed the Sheraton stop. The next stop is way way out to some remote place where you could not even find a taxi, but just had to wait for the return bus. The hotel charged 3 Euros for a shuttle to a spot near the colloseum, about 10 min walk to the Colloseum metro station. It is good if you're going to the colloseum every day, but who would? The check-in was way too slow. When I was checking in there were many air stedwardess jumping queue and the counter staff simply entertained them with laughters and jokes. The free morning breakfast was great, full buffet style. We ate dinner at the hotel for a couple of nights as there were nothing else nearby, not cheap. We also took a taxi from the hotel to Spanish Step, it cost 25 Euros. Lees meer

This is a very good hotel a little outside of Rome. The hotel is a proper 4-star hotel with great service, great hotel rooms and bathrooms are marble. The bar and restaurant in the hotel is great. The breakfast is one of the best breakfast buffet I have seen. A big selection of foods and beverage as well as pastries. The only downside to this hotel […] is the location if you plan to spend a lot of time downtown. The hotel does offer a shuttle with hourly departures from the hotel to subway and downtown for a small free. The same shuttle is free back (even though you did not go there by shuttle). This shuttle is timely and left all time on the minute. It is also close to the subway, but the walk is on very tiny curbs in a rural area. So a great hotel, but does not have the convenient location of a downtown hotel. The bus shuttle makes this no excuse for staying at this great hotel. They also offer if you stay more than 2 nights to give you a credit for bar/restaurant if you don't want your room cleaned every day. Lees meer

The stay was only for 1 night and the idea of having transportation to and from the airport made the decision easy. However the shuttle was not easy to find once we arrived at the airport so we took a cab. The room had peeling wallpaper and the room looked tired. There were holes in the bedspread and banging heard while the floor below us was being […] worked on. Please note the shuttle to the center of town is no where near the metro. It is within your best interest to book a hotel in the city center and take the Leonardo Express into the city for all the headaches their shuttle caused us. Room was comfortable but very noisy and poorly maintained. One light did not work and the fridge woke us up with a hammering noise. The staff were friendly, but often the desk was very busy so it was impossible to get service. The shuttle bus to the city was a positive feature, and the breakfast was good.

Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The room was a decent size which surprised us considering we were in Europe. Very clean. Beds were comfy. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

The room and hotel were nice. A 5 minute walk to the subway stop. Main subway line which is very convenient. Don't take the hotel shuttle service because it doesn't guarantee you a seat back and more importantly the times are not accurate and dependent on the bus driver so you want end up waiting 90 minutes for the bus because you missed the previous […] one becuase it came and left 10 minutes earlier then stated. Hotel provides a scheduled shuttle to the airport and city center. A fifteen minute walk to shops and restaurants. The breakfast is impressive and friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is what you would expect from a Sheraton except that the check-in/out line is crazy long. If you only have 30 minutes to check-in/out then give yourself more time...it's that long. The hotel is very close to a subway stop on the main line to get you to all the sights.

We stayed here an additional day after our tour ended. The lobby was very nice and we had dinner in the restaurant which was good. The reception desk was slow, maybe because of the language difference. Because we stayed the additional day, there was a mix up with our room. When we returned form a day in Rome we couldn't get into our room until the reception […] personnel reprogrammed our keys. When we finally entered the room it hadn't been cleaned, the window was wide open, and the TV was on. Not how we left the room. Later that evening , while we were asleep, two hotel bellman tried to enter our room. They couldn't enter because of the double lock. When I confronted them, they looked confused and left. The Hotel offers a Shuttle bus service to and from Fumicino Airport which is convenient and also a shuttle bus into central Rome with pick ups from the drop off point throughout the day and this is also convenient as the Hotel is located on the outskirts of Rome Central but this gives guests the opportunity to do some sightseeing. The internet service is located in the foyer near Reception andis free for guests. We checked in early and we fortunate to be able to access our room after a long international flight - which we appreciated to a great degree. The hotel was ok as far as quality, however, I would definitely go with a hotel in the main city of Rome or "downtown". By the time you pay for transportation to and from the hotel, you have paid for a room in the city center where u can walk right out. The food and transporation (which is mandatory to get to the attractions) are way too much. Useful shuttle to the center of Rome, otherwise a taxi is needed. Restaurant staff very nice. Please note there is no leftovers to go. They let me order s hamburger for my dad from the kid's menu.
