Clarion Resort Fontainebleau in Ocean City

Stayed at the Clarion for an event this past weekend. The cleanliness of the hotel was bad. The bedroom sheets were extremely filthy with stains. This made the stay very uncomfortable. We checked out immediately. The quality of service during this experience was just okay! The staff wasn't apologetic just agreed to allowing us to check out.

I think this hotel may be one of the cleanest. I really enjoyed my stay here in Ocean City. My boyfriend and I come here often and try different hotels (depending on price). We usually come during the offseason so it is quiet and we do not have to deal with the large crowds. There is a pretty nice bar downstairs that has five flat screens showing all […] sporting events. It is rather small but, stays open late. They have live bands and dancing at the hotel as well until 2am. My only disappointment was that the spa located at the hotel was shut down. This was one of the main reasons why I chose the hotel in the first place. Regardless, we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the night life. If you like going to Seacrets, its not far away. I was hit with $40 in extra charges for my dog when I got there that hotels.com didn't mention eventhough they called and verified that it was a pet friendly hotel and there was no pressure what so ever in the shower. They couldn't come check it because my 11 lbs dog might kill them. I paid an extra $40 for an ocean view and I was looking at a building […] with cracks. Lees meer

We went to Ocean City for one night and were very happy with the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau. We arrived early but were able to check in to our room. The desk staff was very nice, as was housekeeping. The room had a great view and included a refrigerator and microwave. There is a nice indoor pool and a bar next to the pool. We enjoyed every bit of our stay in this hotel! It's clearly off-season, so the whole beach/town were delightfully peaceful. Our room was clean, well maintained, and showed very little wear. We loved it!

Although there were certainly signs of aging in this hotel, I loved the sized of the room and the amenities (a functional and separate sitting area). Above all, I will say this was the quietest hotel stay I've had EVER! Amazing! I don't know why - there were car shows and soccer tournaments going on in the area! Checkin was seamless and rooms had absolutely beautiful view of ocean. Loved the adjoining rooms and amenities including choice of inside pool or outside pool. Wonderful experience of beachfront hotel...could walk out into nature with ocean or use other door for access to all sorts of shopping restaurants. My family and i would go again. First night our room was not too good. A/C was so noisy, had to turn it off. Opened the window and we were on the third floor and the equiptment on the roof outside woke us up several times. Next morning, spoke to the staff and we were in a new room in 10 minutes - much nicer. Good location and good beachfront.

Big cloud of smoke to pass through on the way to registration desk as smokers greet you at the front door when you check in. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and accommodating but when we went to our first room, we couldn't get past opening the door because of the gust of ash tray smell coming at us. The location is excellent. We had a very comfortable, ocean side room. The hotel is very clean. the decor is a bit outdated (late eighties). Rooms are equipped with large flat screen TVs. Nice restaurant and common area. Down side is that the hotel does not supply any beach amenities whatsoever so pack your own beach towel. Thought it was nice, food at hotel was excellent. We liked the band at bar nightly kids enjoyed outside pool and conviece of beach.I do think balcony was a huge disappointment I think it would be a great improvement to be able to sit on mt balcony at night for a drink or in am having coffee but u can just about stand on it and try more than one guest […] at a time very tight. I was so disappointed on the condition of our room. The air conditioner sounded like a train; thus, we were unable to listen to the TV unless it was turned off. the beds were comfortable and amenities were plentiful. For the cost, I was totally disappointed.

Nice hotel. The builing is old so it lacks some modern touches but overall we were satisfied. It had a nice indoor pool bar and an outdoor bar. Good happy hour specials. The Hotel is right on the beach so there is no real waking and luging all beach stuff. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. You take the steps to the bottom floor and walk out to the beach. Yhe view from the room was great. You can walk out on the small terrace to listen to the ocean. The service was friendly from all staff. The facility itself needs to be updated. The chain lock in our room was hanging off one screw and we had to […] keep moving the iron to different plugs bc the electricity went out on certain sockets. My family was very dissapointed that our children were not allowed in the hot tub. I can understand not allowing unsupervised children in the hot tub, but I have never stayed anyplace where my children could not enjoy the hot tub. I also can understand keeping children out of the hot tub in the fitness area, but I think it is ridiculous to keep them […] out of the outdoor hot tub! The weather (and water) were cold on the first couple of days on our stay and all my kids wanted to do was sit in the hot tub for a few minutes! My family and I went to Ocean City for the last weekend before school...well this hotel was very disappointing. The room was dusty and it smelled terrible. At three in the morning the room above mine had a flood in their bathroom that leaked into my bathroom. The staff was aware of this but failed to contact me. My husband had to wake up at 6:00 am […] to find that the entire bathroom was wet. The front desk clerk had the nerve to tell me she did not have a room she could move me to at that time; however, after I firmly let her know I was not willing to stay in that room I was given another room. Overall my experience was great! We were able to check in two hrs early and had no trouble finding parking, they have a large parking lot. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was nice and clean. Definitely recommend it!

This hotel is pretty run down. Staff was wonderful. Rooms are very small and could use many updates. Beds are small and not very comfortable. You are very far from the boardwalk so plan on driving everwhere!

The room was dated, the bath room tub always backed up. Didn't feel clean being there. The outside such as Pools, bars, live entertainment were great. Beach close by. I don't know if I would stay there again unless they put some money back into the hotel apperience.

We recently stayed at the clarion in ocean MD and enjoyed our stay very much. The band nightly, the all you can eat buffet , the indoor as well as the outdoor pool also added to the fun. I would recommend the Clarion to anyone looking for the feel of a resort. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

great location right on the ocean. Outdoor bar with band each day was great. Waiter staff was very good. Room was small but managable. It had an odor when you enter but did not notice it when you are inthe room for a while. Housekeeping was terrible. Didn't get clean towels, ran out of tp, one day took all wet towels and left none for us?

The hotel room was dirty and had a terrible odor. The picture of the pool is misleading no fountain. Ended up leaving at midnight due to cleanliness did not want to sleep there. Only positive staff was friendly

We had a suite for my husband, myself and our 4 kids. The sleep sofa was unusually comfortable. My kids said they liked it a lot and would like to return, and they are specialists in everything beach. Good access to beach, heated pools, more than usual cable channels, and good views.

My over-all experience was great. I enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, steam room and the sauna. The balcony was tiny-not even enough room for a chair.

Room, bathroom, fridge were all nice and clean. Pullout bed was very comfortable, even for adults. Bathroom and balcony were smaller than I'd expected. Indoor pool was good sized but too dimly lit and the loud music was annoying for families. Pet area and beach were very nice, but only "foot shower" for sandy beachgoers was at the entrance to the pool/restaurant […] area and not marked: we didn't find it untl the last day. Staff were a little snippy when I arrived at 11pm with my Expedia reservation as it hadn't come through to them or something. I booked it at about 7:30pm so there was only a 3 hour time difference and I empathized but the less than friendly attitude about me using Expedia wasnt appropriate. I booked the hotel, the site gave us the rooms. It's not like […] it shouldve been that big of a deal to accomodate me and make me feel welcomed when I walked in at 11pm-especially since I was was already stressed that I had to come to the beach for an emergency. Not that they knew that but it shouldn't have mattered. The room was incredibly clean. The beds were sooooo comfortable as were the pillows. The view from the balcony fantastic. Parking was a breeze and cleaniness of the facility was exceptional. I was actually very surprised. Was very disappointed with the whole package! The room had a distinct mildew odor and everything felt damp. The bathroom was in extreme need of updating; especially the tub area. The upholstery on the sofa bed was dirty and in need of replacing. The carpet as well had stains; and being a pet friendly hotel, I am sure many little accidents where left […] there. I witnessed one myself on the elevator I was using to do downstairs to the lobby. A pug was on it as well and proceeded to lift his leg!! I was appauled at this, and the owner did nothing about it, except to get off at his designated floor! The parking is horrible, and you usually have to go to the lot across the street. Try crossing 6 lanes of highway to go back and forth to your car. The elevators are extremly slow and during check out time, one can wait up to 20 minutes for one to come. The coffee maker was so full of lime scale I couldnt imagine anyone wanting to use it. For the prices they are charging I would never consider using the hotel again In fact I left 2 days earlier than my current check out. Lees meer

Our room was very clean, but the TV didn't work very well, and the toilet was located in an extremely small space. The bathroom was extremely smalll. Very uncomfortable. Not all of the elevators were in working condition. It was a long wait to get to/from our room due to the elevators. Reserve the maintenance staff to perform duties during third shirt or at times when guests are not utilizing the facilities. i.e replacing ceiling tiles in the fitness room at very busy times 9 am, or cleaning the indoor pool deck whith chemicals,scrubbing machines,& hoses while guests are swimming.? who makes these decisions?? With the palm trees and tropical flowers behind the hotel it felt like we were on an island!! There was music by the pool and bar adding to the ambiance. Would highly recommend the Clarion as a fine beach resort in Ocean City.

The overall stay was ok. The room could have been cleaner, i.e., the sofa had a huge stain and toilet had a disgusting rim. The food in the restaurant was old. I had piece of ham that was old. The entertainment was excellent. I think the room was extremely overrated based on the price. I would never stay there again.
