InterContinental New Orleans in New Orleans

We checked our bags early. When we returned to check- in we turned our three tags in for our bags. But only two bags was brought to the room. We booked a king smoking room with a balcony. We received a king non smoking room with a balcony to smoke on. With no ash tray. We could hardly open the door because of the rollers. Then when we tried to close […] the door to lock it would not lock , we had to call a service tech. I ask for another room. They would not move us. We had a small opening to go in and out of the balcony doors. The bed was the worse I have ever slepted on! It sagged in the middle. When we checked out the front desk clerk said they could have brought a frame for the bed to fix the problem. A bed that sagges in the middle should be changed. At breakfast they were picking up by 9am felt like we were being rushed out. We expected more for our money from this hotel. We will never go back!!! Lees meer

I'm not sure what is used to rank hotels but this hotel is not what I would consider 4-star. I picked this hotel specifically because it had an outdoor pool, was close to Bourbon, and had the most stars. The pool was the size of my bathtub, the bathroom smelled awful, the air wasn't working and it did not offer all of the amenities that were listed. […] I also had to go back to the front desk on multiple occasions because the key to my room wasn't working. There were a couple restaurants in the hotel, which were all closed. The bed did not come with a mattress pad and was extremely uncomfortable. Would not recommend. Lees meer

Overall the hotel was very nice, affordable, and in a very convenient location to the French Quarter. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance, so we never needed our car. The cost of overnight valet, however, was outrageous. I don't understand why hotels want to gouge their hotel guests by charging $32 a night to park their car there. […] The room was very clean, and the bed and linens were heavenly. The only disappointment about the room was that the drapes did not close all the way, which did not enable us to make the room dark. The other disappointment was the fact that the hotel bar was not open on the weekends. We stayed Friday and Saturday night of the Memorial Day weekend, and would have enjoyed using the pool tables in the bar. I had a wonderful stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A satisfying experience. Definitely recommend this one!!

Hotel is walking distance to French Quarters, casino, river walk, and a number of restaurants. Street car (trolly) runs right in front of the hotel on St. Charles street. Our room was nice except the bed was too soft. They should atleast consider adding slippers for guests, since it is not hygienic to walk bare footed on the carpet. Any way, we hardly […] stayed in the room and were gone all day. The first few nights the noise of the trolly keeps you awake, but then you get used to it. Over all we recommend this hotel. MY BED WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE ME AND MY WIFE DID NOT SLEEP WELL BECAUSE THE BED WAS UNEVEN BUT OVERALL IT WAS NICE AND THE LOCATION WAS GREAT

The room was nice and the beds very comfortable - not hard unlike other hotel beds. The valet staff was friendly and helpful - best of all, my SUV wasn't considered oversized like so many other hotel Valera use to overcharge for parking.

Can be very noisy because of trolley on the street out front which run long hours and frequently. Valet is very slow and once the help line forgot to have the valet get the car. Location is ok but long walk or taxi to a number of popular spots. Room was as expected--clean and generally comfortable. While the accomidations were nice, there is no free internet, microwave, or refrigerator in the rooms. These are simple expectations from much cheaper hotels. Parking is expensive and inconvenient.

Generally a good experience. We had stayed there previously about 7 years ago. Not much has changed that we could notice. However, when people come in late/arrive late....if you are looking for just some simple food, you might need to think about the 5 block walk to something that is opened past 7:00 in the evening. But I must say, that after we had […] left and was on our transport home, I realized that I had left an article in the hotel room. I called the hotel and my item was FedEx d to me. I have stayed at lots of Interncontental Hotels and never experienced a promblem until I stayed here. I tried to check in at 2pm, but they told me that check in was not until 4:30 pm, and they had no rooms for me, but for an extra 20 dollars a day they had plenty of upgrade rooms. Next, the fauccet in my room fell off in my hand, the shower sent half […] of the water out of the bottom tub filler and the mattress is very, very soft that caused me to wake up with a sore back. The workout room had no towels or cups for the water dispenser and the equipment was subpar and broken. Room 904, Will not go back. Lees meer

I have stayed at many Intercontinental Hotels. This particular hotel by no means lives up to the standards that should be expected from this chain. Major updates and housekeeping should be their top priority in order to compete with the other 4+ star hotels in NOLA.

This hotel is walking distance to the French Quarter and other attractions, but is also just far away enough to ensure a good night's sleep in a loud area. The beds were super comfortable, staff very friendly.

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental for a conference. The hotel room was nice and clean. It lacks some features of more modern hotels such as flat screen tvs. The mattress was a bit too soft. The extra blanket in the room had a ragged, torn edge and smelled old. There is a minibar with alcohol, sodas, juice, and snacks. Typical overpriced minibar […] goods. No fridge or microwave in the room. There is an ice machine, but no drink or snack machines. Free wifi in common areas, but you will have to pay in the room. The service staff was very nice and helpful. I never encountered someone who was rude or too busy to help. The young man in the coffee cafe remembered the type of latte I ordered the day before. My only complaint was the maid staff did not replace previously used glasses. This hotel is great for a business trip or couples get away. It is a decent walk from the action on canal street. Room service was good. There is a $2 service charge and 18% tip already included. It is expensive to eat daily, but helpful in a pinch. The trolley runs right outside the hotel door. Casino and the shops at canal place are a bit further walk or short taxi drive. The lack of fridge and microwave to keep snacks/milk handy for the kids is why I don't feel this hotel is good for families with kids. Also, the cable had cartoon network but no nick. Close to the French Quarter but not in it - was great for me on a business trip. Service was great except at restauarant where they seemed to care little. Overall I would stay there again.

After frequent stays in New Orleans i can truly say that this is my favorite hotel!! Others may be fancier but you can't bet this hotel for the convenience and the price.

They really need to up date certain things as the t.v. install some flat schreens in the room and add mp3 players where you can listen to your music on your mp3 player if you would like to.

The bed was the best, but I probably will not stay there again. New Orleans has lots of character that one doesn't find at the Intercontinental. I'm sticking with old hotels with that old wood smell with a lush courtyard in the French Quarter.

We stayed here for about a week when my husband was at a convention. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice -- stylish, clean and most important, the bed, linens and pillows were really comfortable. Our only complaint about the room would be the maid consistently failed to leave toilet paper and we had to call three different times […] to get a roll. That aside, the location of the hotel was prime -- you could walk to the French Quarter, Riverwalk, the convention center and the Superdome. The hotel was also located on the St. Charles streetcar line which was convenient. A well kept secret is John Besh's restaurant, Luke, which is located right across the street -- don't miss it. NOT A BAD LOCATION, IT WAS SEVERAL BLOCKS TO THE FRENCH QUARTER, AND CONVENTION CENTER. ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN, SHEETS WERE VERY NICE BUT THE BED AND PILLOWS WERE TERRIBLE.

It was very expensive compared to its quality. Also it was dirty and room service was not good.

Free internet access in business center. Too expensive and felt like being nickled and dimed. Old TV in room with poor picture AC fan too low Poor and dangerous strength equipment in fitness center

I loved my room which was clean and very large. The staff was friendly and courteous although some of them were very difficult to understand. Hotel is about 3 blocks from the French Quarter and located right on the St. Charles street car line. You can easily get uptown and you are already downtown. Excellent location!! All in all a great hotel!!

the only complaint that I have is the wallpaper pattern was hung upside down and that drove me a tiny bit crazy - I know I am overly observant but once you notice...... really nice hotel and staff

What a beautiful hotel, and what nice people! I so enjoyed my stay and will return to this hotel each time I return to New Orleans.

hotel excellent, other than the room had a peculiar odor upon entering for the first time- lit a candle and odor went away

The people at this hotel were so very nice in all aspects of my needs. I arrived before check in time and I got a room. I wanted to check out later and that was not a problem at all. Room service was very quick and very good. Great beds, great towels, quiet, and cannot wait to stay there again.
