InterContinental New Orleans in New Orleans

We travel to New Orleans every two months to get away and have fun. We have stayed at other hotels in the area and the Intercontinental is by far the best. Upgrading to a balcony suite is worth every dollar. The staff is so helpful and the location is perfect. Anyone wanting to stay near the French Quarter but avoid the noise needs to stay there. Clean room, very nice place. If you stay here you must eat at Luke's restaurant across the street. It is absolutely amazing....And reasonably priced. Very happy with my decision to stay here.

I stayed there for the Bayou Classic this year. It was a 5-10 min walk to the Dome which was a big plus for me. I do not like using a car when I go down there for that weekend. The staff was great and most importantly I had no problems with rowdy college students and young adults period. My friends and I chose the InterContinental based on its rating and its location to Bourbon Street. No, this hotel doesn't have action outside its doors. Located in the financial district, it was somewhat of a lonely night time walk past Canal Street. But what it does provide a clean, drama free, quiet environment to sleep off a long night of fried […] oysters and hurricanes. Here is what I liked: A tidy room, comfortable mattresses, air conditioning/heating controls that were responsive to my preference, an alarm clock radio that actually worked, and an abundance of toiletries and towels in the bathroom. The front desk staff were super friendly at check-in and check-out. The location is a 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street, 7 if you walk briskly. Here is what I didn't like: The walls are super thin. I easily heard conversations from the room next to mine, and at night time, snoring. The bathroom seemed dated. The morning cleaning service is overly aggressive and the parking options are limited. To sum it up: If you want a quiet night after a night on the town, and you can walk back and remember where this hotel is, it might be worth checking out. Lees meer

We were in New Orleans for Halloween and besides the shooting on Bourbon street that we missed by 10 minutes, all was good! The hotel was awesome, although our reservation included breakfast each day we couldnt manage to get up in time to check it out! I wonder why!! lol! This was a great location, close to everything, tours, the french quarter, etc. […] I reccomend hopping on the St Charles Streetcar and riding it the whole way. Very worth the $1.25! walking distance to everything we needed except golf, but ended up leaving the car parked the whole time. Nice place, would definitely stay again! Lees meer

This hotel from top to bottom is First Class!!! Service desk was very friendly and willing to help. Room was perfect.

1 hour wait for room to be ready contrary to specified check in time upon arrival --- very unacceptable and caused a delay in plans that were on our agenda for the evening. 1 hour rate to receive vehicle from valet parking upon check out ----very unacceptable. WILL NOT BE STAYING AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN

Great hotel and great price. Close enough to the great spots in new Orleans. We were there during tropical storm lee and still had a great vacation!

This hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway in New Orleans. The only con was that I could never get the internet to work. I was able to use my iPhone for most of my needs so it wasn't a major inconvenience. Everything else about the hotel was spot-on. Great location, friendly staff, well-equipped gym.

Great location away from the noise of the Quarter. Beautiful hotel...didn't have a hair dryer...all I did was call guest services and I had one in about 4 minutes. 24 Hr. Guest Services and Room Service.

My stay at the hotel was pleasant.. Rooms were clean and cozy. Room service was very fast, our food was delivered in about 15 mins. The only complaint I have is that my bed was a little uncomfortable. The mattress sunk in when I was sleeping. Needs new mattress!

Everything was excellent except for the noise from the hallway and other rooms. The service was great and the room was very clean.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed are stay. The service was A1 and the location was great. Looking forward to next year and plan to stay at the same hotel.

I loved everything about this hotel except for the housekeeping staff which is completely untrained. I have never experienced such a loud and invasive housekeeping staff. They communicate with each other from one end of the hall to the other by yelling!! Since I speak the language, I know that they were not always talking about work related items. One […] morning I simply got dressed and went into the hall to tell the employee to stop yelling. Also, instead of guiding the door to close quietly, they slam them really bad. That's in the morning. Then in the afternoon, the room checkers go from room to room slamming every door again. When they are cleaning the room next door to you, you can hear them slamming the vacuum against the furniture. Stayed at IC for a convention at the JW (much nicer, but more expensive) which was right around the corner. Location is awesome. Near Mothers (great breakfast / lunch place). A quick walk to Bourbon st and Canal St. Hotel common areas we generally messy (candy wrappers, beer botels, etc.) Rooms were very clean and beds were super comfy. Our stay at the InterContinental in New Orleans was very nice. The front desk employees made you fell comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay at this location again.

When we checked out we settled our bill completely after getting home on Monday I noticed several unauthorized charges to my debit card that totalled close to $200. When I called the hotel. The young lady could not explain these charges. She told me that they could fall off in a few days then she realized the severity of the situation and put me through […] to the credit manager who would not admit to the error and could not explain why these charges were made. He only said they will fall off in 4-5 days. I had to get my bank involved to rectify the situation. Lees meer

The location was very good for a first time visitor to New Orleans. All of the tourist attractions were within walking distance of the hotel.The negative was the 30 dollar a day valet parking charge to stay at the hotel. The valet charge cost more than to actually rent the car.The rooms were nice, and the staff was professional.

Extremely satisfied from our weekend stay at this hotel. It was clean, convenient, and the service was above par. The room was large and very clean. They definitely pay attention to detail. The only two negative things I would have to mention is the quality of the shampoo/conditioner they provide (recommend bringing your own as the ones provided smell […] really bad!) and the cost of the parking. But I assume parking all over the city is bad, so that one cannot be avoided. I was really pleased with the staff at the hotel. They went above and beyond the norm. The hotel was within walking distance of everything- Riverwalk, French Quarter, Bourbon Street, etc. overall very, very pleased and would definitely return. Lees meer

GREAT Hotel AMAZING Service

Very nice hotel, although the walls are thin. There was some kind of violent altercation going on in the room next to me that would start up and die down. It lasted until at least 3:30 in the morning, and it was very disturbing. Everything else about the hotel was nice.

This hotel has a good location, close enough to the French Quarter to walk easily, but far enough away to be quiet. It is right on the St. Charles streetcar line which every visitor to N.O. should do. We rode the streetcar to dinner in the garden district and coming back is was full of Tulane students heading out to party in the quarter on Friday night. […] It was fun to watch and think about the days when our nights were just getting started at 10pm. Now on to the bed. The linens were fine, but the mattress was so soft and lumpy that my husband and I both woke up with backaches. It seems like there was no support at all. Overall, we might stay there again, but given all the choices in N.O., I probably would choose something else next time. Lees meer

We checked our bags early. When we returned to check- in we turned our three tags in for our bags. But only two bags was brought to the room. We booked a king smoking room with a balcony. We received a king non smoking room with a balcony to smoke on. With no ash tray. We could hardly open the door because of the rollers. Then when we tried to close […] the door to lock it would not lock , we had to call a service tech. I ask for another room. They would not move us. We had a small opening to go in and out of the balcony doors. The bed was the worse I have ever slepted on! It sagged in the middle. When we checked out the front desk clerk said they could have brought a frame for the bed to fix the problem. A bed that sagges in the middle should be changed. At breakfast they were picking up by 9am felt like we were being rushed out. We expected more for our money from this hotel. We will never go back!!! Lees meer

I'm not sure what is used to rank hotels but this hotel is not what I would consider 4-star. I picked this hotel specifically because it had an outdoor pool, was close to Bourbon, and had the most stars. The pool was the size of my bathtub, the bathroom smelled awful, the air wasn't working and it did not offer all of the amenities that were listed. […] I also had to go back to the front desk on multiple occasions because the key to my room wasn't working. There were a couple restaurants in the hotel, which were all closed. The bed did not come with a mattress pad and was extremely uncomfortable. Would not recommend. Lees meer

Overall the hotel was very nice, affordable, and in a very convenient location to the French Quarter. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance, so we never needed our car. The cost of overnight valet, however, was outrageous. I don't understand why hotels want to gouge their hotel guests by charging $32 a night to park their car there. […] The room was very clean, and the bed and linens were heavenly. The only disappointment about the room was that the drapes did not close all the way, which did not enable us to make the room dark. The other disappointment was the fact that the hotel bar was not open on the weekends. We stayed Friday and Saturday night of the Memorial Day weekend, and would have enjoyed using the pool tables in the bar. Hotel is walking distance to French Quarters, casino, river walk, and a number of restaurants. Street car (trolly) runs right in front of the hotel on St. Charles street. Our room was nice except the bed was too soft. They should atleast consider adding slippers for guests, since it is not hygienic to walk bare footed on the carpet. Any way, we hardly […] stayed in the room and were gone all day. The first few nights the noise of the trolly keeps you awake, but then you get used to it. Over all we recommend this hotel. MY BED WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE ME AND MY WIFE DID NOT SLEEP WELL BECAUSE THE BED WAS UNEVEN BUT OVERALL IT WAS NICE AND THE LOCATION WAS GREAT

The room was nice and the beds very comfortable - not hard unlike other hotel beds. The valet staff was friendly and helpful - best of all, my SUV wasn't considered oversized like so many other hotel Valera use to overcharge for parking.

Can be very noisy because of trolley on the street out front which run long hours and frequently. Valet is very slow and once the help line forgot to have the valet get the car. Location is ok but long walk or taxi to a number of popular spots. Room was as expected--clean and generally comfortable. While the accomidations were nice, there is no free internet, microwave, or refrigerator in the rooms. These are simple expectations from much cheaper hotels. Parking is expensive and inconvenient.
