Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek in Salt Lake City

Right next to a brand new mall and across the street from Temple Square, art museum, and concert hall. Very comfy bed and linens, but oddly scratchy towels not really up to Marriott standards.

Very professional, courteous staff, asked for more coffee, brought us a whole bag whith in 15 min, very nice!!

Good location for genealogy library research and conferences at the Salt Palace. Rooms are small and almost adequate...no refrigerator., extra charges for internet. Maids didn't want to remove dirty glass ware or recycle, or leave new soap, etc. Message system needs upgrading. But the overall rating is satisfactory. The staff was most pleasant. A very nice hotel at a resonable price - perfect if you want to be within short walking distance of Temple Square and the Salt Palace Convention Center.

Our room was very clean and comfortable...good beds, nice shower. We had a nice breakfast at the restaurant on site. Overall, I would recommend this hotel highly. All the staff was very helpful and nice.

The Marriott was elegant, but comfortable. Walking distance to temple square, conference center, city creek. Salt Lake City blocks are longer than they look on a map, and we were so glad to be so close to everything. The room was very clean and the only hotel I ever stayed in that you didn't have to wait for hot water. The hallway was a little noisy, […] but immediately quite after people entered their rooms. $3.50 for room water? a buck a min internet? Paid parking? I guess they have to make up the cost somewhere. nice rooms nice breakfast

This hotel (4 stars) was great with one exception. Our bathroom was smaller than the Holiday Inn Express (2.5 stars) bathroom that we had just come from on our road trip. The Marriott bathroom plumbing in the shower was loosely attached to the wall. The sink also drained poorly and the ensuing drip was moderately loud. It worked, luckily. This is my first Hotels.com review, which I write because I ignored previous reviewers’ accurate criticisms, to my detriment. As a plus, the SLC Marriott Downtown is in an excellent location across the street from the Salt Palace and within walking distance both of Temple Square and of many other downtown destinations. Nevertheless, deficiencies cited […] by previous reviewers do exist. I reserved a deluxe room for three—my wife, my eight-year-old son, and me. The tiny room had only one bed. No double rooms were available, so Marriott provided a rollaway bed that took up most of the remaining space in the already crowded room. The hotel adds a $12 per day parking fee to the already high-for-the-area room charge. The four-level underground parking garage has a ceiling height ranging from 5” 5” to 7’. It was scary driving our Ford Excursion SUV into the garage, which often cleared the ceiling, after careful maneuvering to avoid pipes, by less than an inch. There is no free Wi-Fi, but Wi-Fi is available for 99 cents per minute. So many children were fighting each other with swimming “noodles” in the miniscule indoor pool that there was no room for an adult. Even our eight-year-old son, an avid swimmer, tired of the crowded conditions quickly. As a previous reviewer noted, construction noise outside was loud enough to awaken us by 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Finally, although I had hot water for a bath in the evening, my wife took her morning shower in tepid water. In conclusion, next time we will choose one of the other quality hotels in the area, rather than the Marriott Downtown. Lees meer

Upon arrival we noticed that directly next door was ongoing construction. As we took 1 elevator from the garage and had to get off and take another to our room, I was a bit flustered about having to switch elevators. Finally we go into our room, and I thought we had mistakenly gone to the wrong hotel , maybe. I for a second thought we were at a motel […] 6 or something close to it. The room was very small, and the bathroom even smaller. There was barely enough room to open the bathroom door without hitting the toilet. So we settle in and bright and early the next morning construction starts. I was very dissapointed with the room based on the money I paid and the what I thought was a higher reputation of Marriott. Very close to everything we wanted to do. Construction was a little annoying, trying to get in and out. Clean Hotel and very friendly. Great value.

The bed was very very uncomfortable, was the worst bed i have ever had at a hotel !! Room 428 the bed close to the door ,check it out !! I also feel internet price was way out of line !! Other than that it was ok ! Thank you Chuck

Great Location. Very Clean. The beds are so incredibly comfortable. I always stay at the Marriotts because I know I will always be satisfied. Thank you Marriott for another great vacation!!

I could hear a generator outside our room for two of the three nights. I got about five hours sleep total for the three nights. There were a lot of bums around the hotel. Some were very agressive.

The location was VERY convenient. The service was exceptional. We very much enjoyed our stay. It made our weekend even more perfect!

Having construction noise at 6:30 A.M. on a Saturday was extremely annoying.The vehicles were outside, next to the hotel. Also, people shouting in hallways at 2:00 A.M. did not make for a good night sleep. Neither of these is the hotel's fault. It would have been nice to know about the construction.

The hotel was centrally located for our purposes. we were upgraded to a larger room without being asked - most probably because of a weekend convention of high schoolers. The room was great, the service exceptional. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very clean, I was a little disappointed that the charge for the internet. I think when you pay this much for a room it should be included. Other than that it was a very nice place.
