Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront in Portland

We really enjoyed the water front area, restuarants and neighborhoods

Unfortunately, the pool room temperature was under 60 degrees, we had some burned room service food and there was construction happening which interupted our rest. Different timing and it would have been better. Rail system is close by making it easy to get around and see the town.

I enjoyed the stay. However, I was a bit disappointed by the size of the room, considering the price. Beautiful view though.

We were in a rush to make it out when we arrived so we really needed everything to go smoothly on check-in. However, they didn't get our bags up to our room up in time (and didn't let us take them ourselves) and also put us in the wrong room. They initially refused to give us the correct room but we had to press for them to change it because the first […] room was not going to work at all. We were not pleased with the service. They didn't make much effort to help us out with small requests. Valet parking is an additional $30/day which we didn't know until we had already given them our car. The rooms are pretty basic. Unbelievably fantastic location with awesome water view . Close 2 all shopping malls & posh restaurants. Best place 4 an early morning walk by the water. Amazingly high end breakfast buffet with awesome service, incomparable 2 even a 5 star Hotel. If I ever go back 2 portland, Marriot will be my only option. Thk u

This hotel had such a small bathroom. I was surprised to see so many children running around. We went to get away from ours.

My husband and I booked a room for our first anniversary and we will definitely be staying here next year too. The valet and front desk service was wonderful. Overall: Clean, Modern, Excellent Service, Good Location Room: Being a rainy, March weekend, we didn't want to spring for a pricey room with waterfront views, so instead opted for the lowest price room available. Still, the lady checking us if offered a room with a view - explaining the waterfront views are usually more expensive, but end rooms are […] an odd shape and have smaller windows. We jumped at the opportunity for the view - not planning to spend much of the weekend cooped up inside anyway. The room itself was very clean and although it was an odd shape, it certainly wasn't uncomfortable and the view of the river was worth the trade off. Internet access is available in the room, however WIFI access requires an additional fee. We were also pleased with how attentive the housekeeping staff was. We returned to the room at the end of the day to find it much cleaner than expected - not only had surfaces been cleaned, but any personal items left out seemed to have been organized by my mother while we were away (my toothbrush/toothpaste/floss neatly displayed on one towel, while makeup supplies on another, glasses/contacts/solution on yet another). Service: We realized upon arrival that we forgot to bring a plug for the laptop power charger and requested a loaner from the lobby. Turns out, we were speaking to the GM, who immediately unplugged his own and handed it over. I'm sure they've got a box full of such items left behind by forgetful travelers, but his reaction to hand over the nearest cord instead of forcing us to wait while he looked for another was impressive. During our brief conversation, we mentioned we had plans to visit a brewery while we were in town. He quickly had a variety of local brews sent to our room. Granted, not everyone will get lucky enough to get such a free perk, but his customer first attitude was evident with every staff member we met. first off the outside looked very nice as well as the inside, they were doing some updating remodling on second floor, ok...the rooms are small and the bathroom the very small, if you sit down the door will hit you if someone open it...the bed was way to soft. now the sound from room to room was quiet, but you could hear people from outside on street […] talking, and we were on the 6th floor, and a friend was on the 7th floor had the same problem. The Marriott is nice but it is very expensive, and it certainly wasn't worth the extra money to stay there. The bed was cofortable, but I found some barbeque packets and Cheerios behind the nightstand. Not what I would expect after paying over $230 for a night's stay... Parking was also a nightmare. Awesome hotel. Super clean and comfy. Indoor pool is sweet.

Front desk is super. Valet guys are excellent. Location is great. It is a very comfortable, clean, convenient and pleasant place to stay and at a reasonable on price.

The location of the hotel was perfect we were about 5 minutes from everything we wanted to do in portland, it was great! The hotel was very nice, fancy but not over the top and the guest service was right on point everyone was very friendly and helpful. I recommend the valet parking the guys were great very quick to get your vehicle or to call a cab […] for you tho the cab service wasn't the fastest but it was a busy holiday weekend. I do have a few complaints. We were given 3 towels which I'm sure is normal but one was dirty and had something sticky on it (I don't want to wonder to much as to what it was) and the bedding had a few stains on it (food stains). But all in all we had a great stay and the view was quite nice the room over looked the river and we could see the mountain I think it was Mt. Hood tho I'm not sure and we had a balcony. This is a typical Marriott - great location, rooms and service. They are doing some construction, so there are lots of delays with elevators. A lower floor might be a good idea if you don't like waiting for crowded elevators.

Even though I made the booking for two rooms, our friends got the great room down the hall with a river view. Ours was noisy (valets outside) stinky (right above steak house or something-smelled like garlic and steak all night long). and had a bad view of neighbouring buildings.

Despite construction going on at the hotel entry, our stay at the Waterfront Marriot in Portland was very pleasurable. The highlights were the river views and the quality guestroom interiors. One inconvenience was the excessive chlorination of the spa and pool.

Requested a room on highest eastern floor available facing the water. Reservation said we would have fridge in room and breakfast would be served. When we arrived, we learned that there was a mandatory valet fee of $$ per night, per car. Our room was on the bottom western facing room. No fridge. To get the room we requested, it was going to be an additional […] $$ per night, which we paid so we could see the fireworks display (which never happened). The breakfast they were talking about was $$ per person. It was not close to anything happening in "downtown" Portland and the closest store was a total of 34 blocks away. Kudos to Tyler in the bar for keeping us somewhat satisfied considering the circumstances. All in all, would not return to Downtown Portland Marriott. Lees meer

We loved this Marriot! Its great location, river view and close to all the downtown fun. (We even got a river view without asking/paying for one!) Room was clean, service was great and people were nice. Parking is expensive (30 bucks a night) but I think that's standard downtown- and the parking attendants were very nice and helpful. We were dismayed to find the hotel under rennovation, which was not mentioned before we arrived and that there was no discount because of this. We were also dismayed by the very high nightly parking fee, which was not mentioned when the pricing was given. This actually made the nightly hotel fee higher than comparable hotels in the area. Wasn't thrilled that we weren't told ahead of time about the inconvenient renovation that was going on. By the time we learned of it [when checking in, at a makeshift registration desk], it would have been too late to cancel and look elsewhere for lodging. The alternate entrance resulted in limited, and inconvenient, [cold and crowded, first-come, first-served] […] access to valet services. Room needs fridge, and even on 12th floor, could hear street noise. Expensive wireless access wasn't appreciated during a previous stay. Lees meer

I had talked with others and they said the hotel was great so I was excited to stay there. They were under contruction, parking was a problem, room was small. But the staff was truly wonderful.

the lobby was undergoing a major renovation, but the hotel staff made up for any inconvenience. super friendly, helpful staff. the pool was nice + usually empty. great gym amenities. very clean room. downtown is really empty on the weekends, but overall not a bad location.

The hotel was comfy, but there were incredible charges for services. Valet parking, your only option at the hotel itself, is over thirty dollars per day. The movies in my room cost as much as going to a theater. Also, I had over eighty dollars of charges "accidentally" charged to my room. My checking account was overdrafted because of this. Overall a great stay. Room view was perfect and the service was great. Had lunch in the Sports Bar and the food was fantastic. Only downfall is that we had to pay $30 for one night for valet parking.

Construction going on outside our window. We had a patio room and there was a stick holding our sliding glass door closed. The lock was broken. The amenities such as the shampoo and conditioner dispenser were non existent. This is a tiny step above motel 6 but twice the cost. Stay at hotel fifty down the road for the same cost

Service was good and room was clean and recently remodeled. We stayed here because it has an indoor pool--which is important with kids--and was very close to Keller Auditorium. While it was a beautiful hotel and convenient to where we needed to be, I was disappointed in several things. From the photos of the hotel I requested a river view room at an extra charge. Ours was not one of the ones in the picture though. It was off to the side and a small window that had a small river view. Definitely not what we were expecting […] and the room was rather small also. I use insulin and require a refrigerator and was disappointed to find there was none in the room. I could understand the parking fee, however charging for internet in the room and charging for the continental breakfast, a bit much for what we paid for the room It is very doubtful that we will stay here again. The Hotel location was Awesome! It was clean & staff was friendly! Loved the snacks at the front desk & having a coffee cart inside hotel was a plus! Negative part was the size of the room was small & there was major construction going on there during our stay. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Close to everything .. shopping, great food, try veritable quandry if you haven't (fabulous food, knowledgeable and friendly staff) and entertainment, nice staff. Reasonable rate although they ve gone up recently. But then what hasn't?

We had a room that had two double bed and the room was so small. With two adults and two kids it felt like the room was closing in on you. We asked the staff if they had suggestions of family friendly restaurants and they couldn't think of any. So that was kind of frustrating. Prime location for the Marriot Portland Downtown Waterfront which is parallel to the Willamette River. The room is pretty modest in size, but had a large flat screen TV, side desk w/ergonomic chair, and a nice arm chair placed beside the window. A/C worked nicely during our 90ish degree visit. Super comfortable bed, linens, comforter, simple and all […] crisp white. My friend did grumble about the pillows being too hard or too soft and nothing in the medium range. It was nearly perfect except no fridge which was a bummer. Skip the pricey valet parking and look for street parking. We found a good spot only a block away from the hotel. Just make sure to check what the parking fees are (which change throughout the city depending on where you are). Lees meer

I love how clean and comfortable this hotel is. Location is great, right on the waterfront. The only negative is I had probs with wireless and parking is basically valet only at $30/day. But the valet staff is great. Always VERY quick to bring car around.
