very convenient hotel if you are looking to head to the airport in the morning.

Very polite shuttle drivers and at the check in. Carpets have color changes here and there. But, overall it is clean. If hotel changes entire carpetting, it is excellent hotel.

If you can navigate through the movie theater/I-Hop parking lots and actually find your way to this hotel (which is visible but hard to drive to) you'll probably like it. The indoor pool was fine for a quick relaxing paddle (not very deep or wide, but great temperature for February!) and there's a small jacuzzi there as well. My two young sons and […] my wife liked it a lot. The room was very clean though the bathroom wasn't as clean as I would expect of a Hilton--the corners of the floors where dust collects had...well, dust, as if someone had mopped up and mopped all the dust into the corners. This is not a big deal but again, not what I would have thought of a Hilton, Garden Inn or otherwise. The desk clerks were polite but not really over the top helpful, which I wouldn't have minded since I had five really heavy bags (which no one acknowledged or asked to help us with.) On checkout day we probably had the best interaction, when the woman asked us if there had been any problems. I forgot to mention to her how the bathroom vent fan wasn't working, but oh well. I was slightly put off by the Bama fans eating pizza from a box and drinking bottled beer right there in the lobby area when I arrived, but I guess it's a college town so to be expected. There were no loud noises, anyway. Didn't eat at the breakfast, since it wasn't free and for the price we paid it should have been. Not a bad experience, if you're traveling in the winter and want an indoor pool this place is a good idea. Comfy beds and free wireless in your room. Lees meer

I am very satisfied by the staff and the fact the entire hotel is smoke free. My stay was restful and I will definately stay next time I am in Birmingham. J. Andrews

We stayed in this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. We needed something close because we had a 7 am flight and wanted a hotel with a free shuttle. It is not a luxury hotel, but was fine for what we needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was only a couple of places to eat within walking distance, so we went to Hardee's across […] the street late that night. This was a pretty nice hotel but the bartender and the staff at the restaurant were not friendly could not get a drink from the bar she was not in a hurray at all she would just stand around and not even ask if you wanted a drink we had to ask her , I would stay again but do not like some of the staff

Very clean room... Spacious, but my favorite was the curtains... They don't allow sun light in so you can sleep late.

Rooms are smaller compared to other Holiday Inn Airport Hotels in US. Food is ok, nothing great.

Definitely a good option if you need to be near the airport. Not a great neighborhood, but the hotel is clean, the restaurant and bar are good and you are only 5 minutes from the

This hotel was not in a very good location. It is in the smack of low income neighborhood. When I looked out my window I saw ppl walking the streets and an abandon building (not a pretty view). The front desk staff need some additional training in customer service. It did not meet my expectations for the amt I paid for this room.I was not happy with […] my accommadations. If you need a hotel clost to airport, it's okay, but you wouldn't want to arrive at night....unsafe neighborhood. The staff is nice and friendly and very helpful. The place could use a fresh coat of paint. I also belive they have bed bugs....woke up in the morning with several bites on leges.

This hotel was convenient and the price was right for a stay prior to an early morning flight. The place was crowded and a bit noisy, but the room was clean and did the trick.

This hotel seemed like it was just redecorated. The mattress was comfy, but the pillows were tiny. They were more like sofa pillow-size than regular size. We only received four for our king-size bed which normally would have been plenty if they were regular-size. I had to turn on the refrigerator myself. Was staying here while attend to the NASCAR race in Talladega! Was a good hotell to stay with both resturant and a bar to spend the time before and after..

We were in town for 4 nights working concessions for the Crawfish Boil in late April. 4 of us in 2 rooms. Great hotel, great location, clean. My only compaint was they charged for the breakfast buffet. Picture your standard hot free breakfast at most hotels. Buffet was that caliber, but they charged $10 a person. Run, don't walk from this neighborhood. The hotel restaurant was closed for 3 days when we were there and we were starving and tired from 12 hours on the road. No restaurants in the area! A Hardees in the hood, no thank you! We went to a convenience store and saw 5 men in an glass encased counter area. It had to be bullet proof or what's the point! […] My husband grabbed a soda and we got out of there quick. We should have known something was up when there were 2 security men standing at the door of the hotel. One of them informed us that drug deals were always going down in the area. We tried to get out and go somewhere else, but the hotel wouldn't credit our room. Road noise on the 5th floor was deafening! Firecrackers? Gunshots? Don't know, but woke us up twice!!! The non-smoking room stunk! There is more but sick of thinking about it! Lees meer

This was an excellent place to stay. They were happy to check me in 4 hours early! The room was very nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel and stay again myself! The only negative is that it is in a part of town that has very few walking-distance food options. However there are plenty of great choices within a 10-15 minute drive.

When I arrived, I asked for my room number to be changed since I was meeting friends. They gladly switched me to another room on another floor. Everyone was very friendly...

Overall stay was fine, Rooms are nice and clean. Didn't appreciate the lack of efficiency. The hotel staff did not properly add my father to our hotel room, as they promised, so my father was refused a key when he arrived. He was locked out of the hotel until he could wake me.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Airport was excellent! I have asthma and a room smelling like smoke (even though it says non-smoking) is not good for my condition. However, this was not a problem at the Holiday Inn Airport in Birmingham. The sign that says no-smoking really meant no-smokingl My stay was sensational.

It was a pleasure staying at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham, AL. indeed a peaceful stay.

I flew into Birmingham to see my hubby for 2 days while he was there on tour. We chose this hotel because it had a complimentary shuttle to the airport & we did not have a rental car on our first day. Check-in was easy & we went straight up to our room to nap. Very noisy construction going on nearby & it caused a pretty awful nap for both of us. We […] used the vending machine twice & it gave us incorrect drinks both times. I chose water & it gave me Pepsi & Mountain Dew. I have a heart condition that does not allow me to drink caffeinated drinks so I took the drinks to the front desk & they exchanged them for waters & refunded me my $4 that I lost at the vending machine. This happened twice which became very annoying. The location of the hotel is awful. It is in a really rough spot of town that I wouldn't feel safe in if I were there alone. You can walk to a Hardees, a kabob restaurant, a deli, & a gas station. It's pretty disgusting. The channels on the TV are awful as well. Only get about 30 channels & they are not anything we enjoyed watching. On the last day of our stay, housekeeping walked in on us 3 times. Check-out wasn't for another 3 hours, yet they still walked right in. We directed that towards management who informed us that they would ask housekeeping to stop bothering us. The size of the shampoo & conditioner available was ridiculous. It was small enough to wash a hamster & it smelt like coconuts. I absolutely hate coconuts. I actually had to go buy new shampoo & conditioner because I couldn't stand the smell. I'd say the only good thing about this hotel is the king bed was very comfortable, great shower pressure, & access to the airport. I would not recommend staying here for a romantic getaway or a leisurely visit. This is more of a get in/get out hotel. Lees meer

The hotel itself was in good condition, clean, and had a helpful staff. However, we were there to get a good night's sleep before continuing on our journey. That did not happen. Even though we stayed on the 8th floor, the interstate highway traffic still sounded like the large trucks were passing right outside our door (all night long). The hotel did […] not have insulated windows that limited the noise from the heavy traffic nor limited the cold from coming into the room.
