I have stayed at Grand Sierra in the past. This time, however, I was disappointed. Booked the hotel through Hotels.com and when arrived, they gave me a suite for two people, kind of odd. The room was big but nothing fancy. Then I noticed the bed was small and called front desk to ask and the lady said it was a king size. I still felt the bed was small […] so I called again and was told it was a king size. My wife and I could not sleep that night because the bed was small and secondly, the middle of the bed sunk down like a valley. I could not sleep that night and had to sleep on the couch and woke up with a bad back. I looked for the tag on the bed in the morning and saw it was 60x80, looked up on the internet and it was a queen size bed instead of king, which made more sense. I called front desk again and asked for the manager who then told me that it was a queen size. I asked her about the old furniture and she said the room was remodeled with new furniture 3-4 months ago but I think that was a lie also. The bed sunk down at night so it could not have been new furnishing like she claimed. The whole staff from front desk to manager are incompetent. They need better workers there. I am very disappointed, had to sleep on the couch and woke up with a bad back. Never stay here again. Lees meer

Staff was nice. Quick to repair phone and curtain after reported. Bed comfortable, if a little too soft. Could have used a channel list for the free TV. No thermostat so it was hard to regulate air conditioning .Room was quiet. Food reasonably priced and very good. They have a snack shop in the casino to buy a quick breakfast or lunch with some healthy […] choices. I never left the resort, everything I needed was there, but Walmart is just across the street. Summit Rooms are nice! Other standard rooms are horrible!! Service is terrible! 2-3 hour wait for luggage to arrive in room and you cannot use a cart to bring it yourself!! So if you can't wait, plan on carrying your luggage a block to the elevators, then to your room once you arrive on your floor but wait thats not all!! Usually I stay in the Summit Rooms----this time I tried the regular rooms and a lot of work has been done on those room. They have new sheets without holes! These rooms are finally pretty nice.

The hotel is great, check in is incredibly slow - always has a long line on busy weekends. The cheap rooms are only $10-$20 less than the better rooms, and the difference is huge. The more expensive rooms have granite bathrooms, modern styling and refrigerators. The cheaper rooms aren't as nice, and have no refrigerators - I would have paid the extra […] for the fridge. The stay was amazing but we were charged a resort fee that we didn't even use. (Pool was closed and that was the only reason we wanted to stay there)

Grand Sierra has old rooms (the bottom floor ones). The carpet was filthy and our air conditioner made thump noise everytime we put it on. That's why some of rooms are cheap, we got the older, nonrenovated of the bunch. They keep it this way so that if you want the "decent" looking ones you have to upgrade.

This was a BARE-BONES room accommodation for the expensive price I paid! The only amenities were a small bottle of shampoo/conditiioner, lotion, and soap. We HAD to pay an extra $10 for a lot of services we didn't need/use. It included two SMALL bottles of water, which weren't even in the room when we checked in. There was supposed to be an in-room […] safe, but that wasn't there either. The thermostat didn't have a face on the dial, so we had no idea how to set the temperature. It took 10 minutes to get the TV working. The vending machine took my daughter's money. The location was away from downtown. Very expensive and not very satisfied. I have business in Reno and whenever I am there I try to stay at the GSR. I have always stayed in The Summit rooms. I love the bedding, lg. flat screen TVs, fridge, microwave and especially The views! They are under NEW ownership now and are getting a 'makeover'. New indoor pool and club are coming. The only thing we were disappointed with was a safe was not in our room. Of course for a higher fee we could have changed rooms for one. The bus stop was near by, but could have been better walking to as there was no sidewalks. Overall this was a excellent hotel to stay at.

I was very unhappy. I had a reservation for the grand suite. Upon arrival the front desk clerk gave me a regular room without a coffe maker. I paid grand suite price for a standard room. The front desk clerk was very unfriendly and unhelpful. The hotel in itself is great. The customer service I recieved was horrible.

Had a very good room this stay - clean and comfortable. The price (weekday) was the primary draw for me - a four star room for the cost of a 1-star motel. The distance from available parking at the Grand Sierra is a problem for me as I have a bad leg and I try not to deal with valet parking. My primary complaint is that I am not able to use online checkout […] - so I have to stand in line to check-out - very annoying. Food is good, drink service is slow. Most of the time, the "free" wifi works well and accommodates vpn users. Maid service was quick and thorough this trip. I recommend this hotel but be aware that this is not a downtown hotel, it's much closer to the airport. Lees meer

We've been to Reno 9 times and this was by far the nicest hotel we've stayed at. Upgraded to the Grand Suite II room. All marble tile in bathroom with glass walk-in shower and even a tv . Free in room coffee and FREE wifi, which is rare for a casino.

Hotel was great! Exquisite room- granite and nicely appointed-Only complaint was that the spa was closed and the pool was closed- so we could not use any of those services- then we were charged a resort fee that was for the pool- but the pool was closed. Overall nice stay.

service was excellent, but the pool was empty, as was the hot tub. A spa fee was added to my bill nevertheless after the hotels.com charge was paid.

Kids loved it. Facilities always clean, not noisy. Pool not open; late night bowling closed; but we still had a wonderful time.Adult casino games are always fun and payoff.
