MCM Grande FunDome-DeSoto in DeSoto

the bed, they say pillow top but more like sunken pillow... not comfortable. TV was ok, actually best part of room. bathroom, plastic cups... like a Motel 6. loud party downstairs, out of my control. breakfast was ... well not that great. overall, not the best place for the money.

We all had a good time, the kids loved the pool and us parents loved the free drinks and large selection for breakfast.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind. The pool was never clear water, very cloudy just seemed that they could not keep up with it. When the hotel was full I had No hot water to shower with. Neither did a few others that I had talked to.

Fantastic hotel with one of the slowest, most undersized elevators I've ever seen. I worked in a factory that was built in the late 1800's that had a better elevator in it. Buffet is fantastic, rooms are nice, location was perfect for my needs, kids loved the play area. I have stayed here twice and my only issue both times was waiting 5+ minutes for […] the elevator to arrive, then stop on every floor to pick up no one(because they got tired of waiting and took the stairs). It seems like an eternity waiting on that thing, If you don't have heavy bags to carry do yourself a favor and take the stairs. Lees meer

I've visited this hotels numerous times before because of the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, delicious free breakfast buffet, and the convenient play area for kids. My last visit was very different. It seems like the hotel is "going down" a bit. I noticed gnats every time we ate in the room which is a HUGE no-no to me. Also, the day before […] checkout I requested housekeeping to bring more towels, change trash and vacuum. I waited an hour or so before I called the front desk to remind them and was transferred to housekeeping management where I left a message of the things i needed. I waited a couple more hours and on my way to an outing I stopped by the front desk to let them know that I have yet to receive any service from housekeeping. She informed me that they were a bit backed up and she will make sure they get to me as soon as possible. We arrived back at the room about 2 hours later and guess what: STILL no visit from housekeeping. I was not pleased and of course reported it upon checkout. This is not the usual level of service I received from them but I have noticed it's just not the same anymore. I would recommend this room to people but only within the next year or so. After that if things have not been renovated in some sort of way I doubt the standards will still be up to par. Lees meer

The hotel restaurant 's food was not very good. And there is not much of a choice of restaurants near by. So we drove to other restaurants. Pool was full of little kids so our interest for swimming dissapeared quick. We went to a "Waffle house" next to the hotel and got the wooooorse service of our life. The staff was courteous. My children enjoyed the indoor playground. It was pet friendly. We did get charged twice for the pet fee accidentally, but the problem was corrected and the money was refunded. Breakfast was good, also. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the beds were verrrry comfortable.

nice pleasant staff and rooms very clean. will stay again. the only thing that was wrong the ice machines were not working on the floor i was on which was the 2nd floor and also ont he 3rd floor.

I've stayed at the MCM before and it was okay. The first time I stayed, I had mixed feelings because it was very loud up and down the halls but this time around it was very comfy. My friend stayed with me and it was her first time there and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. Thumbs up to the Fundome! ;)

Hotel was more than I expected. It is everything I needed!

the fun dome was a little of a let down. There is a nice kids play area in there dome area. the pool was cold and not shallow for little kids. The hot tub was nice. also the morning omelet bar was great and the selection on the breakfest bar was good also.

The overall stay was just okay. They were too conservative, i.e. having someone sit in the pool area to turn the hot tub on and off. We couldn't leave the pool area with towels, had to exchange room key for ping pong ball and paddles which were badly beaten up, asked to leave laminated notes if we did or did not wont service. It was as if we were being […] watched every second, including breakfast. The lounge reeked of smoke, there was no way I could sit in there. The pool was freezing, no heat at all. Our stay at the hotel was was very pleasant. The staff did a great job in making our stay a good experience. We did however think the furniture in the dining area could use a lot of updating.The tables were needing to be cleaned each time we ate and several of the chairs didn't look inviting. The food on the breakfast bar was not hot. We didn't complain […] because we ate a little late but did expect the food to be warmer. I booked the this hotel as a weekend getaway. When I arrived at the hotel at 3:45pm, my room was not ready. The lady at the front desk didn't seem at all concerned that several guests were waiting and didn't get in any hurry to accommadate us. After waiting 45 minutes the hotel manager saw that the lobby was full and asked if anyone needed help! DUH?!?!? […] We all needed help! I finally got in my room nearly an hour later, but will NEVER stay at this location again. No one offered to give any sort of compensation or anything for the inconvenience of waiting. After reading some of the reviews and recognizing the fact that i was paying for a hotel on the lower end of the price spectrum, I entered the hotel not expecting much....and they suprised me every turn. The room seems to be all recently remodeled, from a flat screen hd tv to the microwave and fridge. They have a policy in the pool area where kids have […] to be accompanied by an adult and they actually UPHOLD it. This led to a more peaceful environment instead of having lil brats practicing exhibiting their lack of home training. The breakfast was great. I'm not going to say it was the best tasting thing i ever had, but they had an omlette station! A guy standing to make fresh omllettes on his mini stove? Enough said! The towels, hand towels and wash cloths arwe like #4 sand paper. Other hotels do not feel like this 3star and up.

This was not a fancy hotel but it was clean, great breakfast served, and the staff jumped on any situation that came about. Will stay there again. Great price too.

Dirty hotel. Carpet was wet. Staff was nice enough but the hotel is old and gross. I work for the airline and i travel all the time and this was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at.

This is a great place to bring the kids!!!!

My family and I stayed at the mcn fundome for the bmx race weekend and our room was infested with ROACHES and all they said that they was sorry all they could do is send maintenance up there to take a look.The baby swiming pool was very very dirty had black film around the inside of the pool and the water was green and the hotel staff told me its the […] discoloring of the wall of the pool. was there for a wedding - great set up - and we all had service was great for the wedding - older hotel - you can see the age (previous holiday inn) - Big Drawback -- only 1 elevator - and it was continually busy - even for the staff -

We really enjoy staying here. We stay here at least 2-3 times a year. Rooms are great and you really can't beat the price. With the free breakfast buffet and free drinks, the total cost of staying is a great value. I was dissapointed in the service for breakfast, no one ever came to our table to ask us if we wanted coffee and there were no bowls for […] the oatmeal. Me, my husband & 2 kids stayed here for the weekend. It was close to where we needed to be. The room was okay. The hotel feels very humid & smells like chlorine because of the pool. My kids had fun and the breakfast bar was good.

This hotel is definately a 3 star however the customer service and variety offered at their complimentary buffet breakfast is worth the stay. The fun center portion could use upgrading however the rooms were comfortable and clean.

We chose this hotel because of the "fun dome" activities. The hot tub was emptied and couldn't be used. The playground was broken and unsafe to play on. We left for dinner hoping we could use the pool again before bed and maybe the hot tub would be ready. The pool area was closed by 7:40 pm. Posted hours were 3p-9p. Hours according to information in […] room were to be 10a-10p. As it turns out, the hours are whenever the staff feels like opening and closing. My kids and I were extremely disappointed.The bathroom of our room smelled of body odor. Apparently they also have bed bugs. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was clean and neat and the bed was super comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was nice and clean. Friendly, but very slow staff. Check in took a long time. Hotel is marketed to be a "Fundome", but the pool hours are from 3 pm - 9pm. Overall the hotel was okay the best part was the breakfast buffet, the hotel is kid friendly but the pool closed earlier than time posted and as a back up the kids brought video gaming system (xbox 360) but unable to adjust channel on tv in room so needless to say they were bored remainder of the night. The hotel itself has a wonderful breakfast, great pool and play area. It is not a hotel we would stay at we appeared to be the only well to do people in the area and the area did not feel safe. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. There are some really good things. The rooms were a lot nicer than you would expect if you were just looking at the lobby. The beds were comfortable but the pillows lumpy. The room was clean and it had a microwave and little fridge. The breakfast buffet was included (up to 4 people). They had an a man making omelets […] and he did a really good job. There were pancakes for the kids. We aren't talking the Ritz but it was perfect for us and saved us about $30 a day in breakfast. The down side of this property was how WILD the kids were staying there. There was a baseball team, basketball team and a cheer squad staying. These kids were so noisy and crazy. They ran all over the place, passed footballs in the downstairs etc etc etc. I don't think it was just the weekend I was there. I think this hotel is inexpensive and is geared toward kids and that's what you get. I wish the management, who otherwise did an excellent job, kept better control of this by insisting the parents be downstairs with the kids. Then you can address the parents that it's not appropriate for the kids to be running and screaming through the hotel. I doubt I will stay there again but instead opt for an embassy suites where there are similar amenities and fewer animals. Lees meer

The first ight we were there there was a loud party until 3:00 am and the kids running the halls knocking on doors. Aslo there were so many kids that you could not even let them swim. The shallow end of the pool was too full. It was not the best experience. Then on the second night Sunday night we had the entire pool to ourselves and the play area that […] was nice.
