Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Asheville South/Biltmore in Asheville

I was traveling for business, but took my family (wife + three kids) along for the trip as they did some sight seeing while I attended meetings. We checked in around 8:00 or so and the staff was very courteous. Our room was on the 5th floor and as soon as we stepped off the elevator, we noticed a strong odor of wet paint. Upon entering the room, the […] stench of wet paint was compounded by the smell of construction adhesive and I could see clamps still on the new bathroom vanity. It was obvious the hotel was going through a major renovation, and the front desk called our room to ask if it was okay, within a minute of us walking in the door. They knew there was a problem and were able to relocate us to the second floor - and met us at the room with a new key. I can't figure out why they put us in the first room to begin with if they are calling to see if there was a problem. The second floor room was very dated with a pastel pink sink vanity and two toned (silver/gold) fixtures in the bathroom. I don't care about the aesthetics, but at this price point I would have expected better, and I imagine the hotel will be much nicer in a few weeks when construction is completed. The room was clean as was the lobby, pool, etc. which is my primary concern. The beds were double and not queen. Again, not a major deal breaker, but the larger mattresses would have been nicer, especially since we had the kiddos with us. Again, the hotel was okay, clean and the staff was excellent. Once the renovations are completed, it will likely be very nice. The night before, I stayed about an hour away at a Hampton Inn, it cost 50% of this rate and had bigger rooms, bigger beds, a much larger breakfast buffet, etc. I would stay here in the future, but for the price I paid, I would want a better rate. In the future, I will look for a better deal if I book here, but realistically would likely try a different hotel in the same price point. Lees meer

Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating for my business trip! I would recommend staying here to anyone who is visiting the Asheville area!

Just a one night stay but was very pleasant. Front desk clerk was very nice and we used pool and hot tub which was clean and pleasant. Pool not heated but not overly cold. Noon check-out was good for us as we attended a wedding at one pm. Breakfast was good and plenty of room to sit even though hotel was crowded. Maid did check twice to see if we were […] gone but that was not overly bothersome. Would stay again if in Ashville. Lees meer

Normal 3-star hotel, nothing really special. Service was ok, a few times I got the impression I was bothering the guy on his laptop at the front desk. We did get double-billed however after checkout, once from hotels.com, and another from the hotel. I called and it was corrected but took two calls to do so.

The hotel had everything that I look for in a hotel. It had a microwave, refridgerator and a fitness facility. It was clean and had a very nice fitness facility. A great value for the money.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. It is across the road from Biltmore Square Mall and a few restaurants. Toys R Us is right down the road as well. Rooms are very clean and breakfast better than most. When we go back to Asheville we will be staying here again.

This hotel provides easy access to all Asheville area freeways as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's not right downtown in Asheville, but close to the I-40, I-26 Interchange, about a 5-10 minute drive to central Asheville. Plenty of services nearby, and the motel provides a continental breakfast each morning....typical coffee/tea, rolls/pastry type […] food, if you want it. It's a fine place to stay if you are budget watching and not in need of the luxury that more expensive places will offer. Lees meer

the hotel was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location of the hotel was perfect, right off the Interstate, easy access to everything, downtown, biltmore house, etc. Checking in and check out was a breeze!! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very comfortable and quiet. The staff at the main desk was very helpful and friendly. We missed being able to get snacks from vending machines on our floor but they were available in the lobby. The TV in the room was large but was contained in a cabinet which limited and distorted the sound making it difficult to hear.
