DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels DFW Airport North in Irving

The hotel is badly designed. The barthroom was miniscule, the lighting was terrible, there was no clock or TV channel listing in the room. The remote had chocolate on the underside (I hope it was chocolate), the breakfast was mediocre, you could hear the rooms next door and people above you. I cannot recommend it.

I've stayed in a number of DoubleTree hotels, and usually had a great experience. This one was falling apart -- my non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke, the room service staff never answered the phone, and there was tape all over the carpeting. That being said, the food was good (once you finally got it) and the bed was nice. I wouldn't stay again, […] but it wasn't terrible -- was probably comparable to a typical Days Inn. Slow airport pick up

We waited almost an hour for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Then the next day, the shutlle was 18 minutes late in departure. I think they only have 1 shuttle. Mariott, hyatt, etc shuttles passed by at least 5 times while we waited.

Excellent hotel, delicious free breakfast. We are traveling to South America for two weeks. Free parking on hotel site and free shuttle service to airport. Gym was perfect, free wate bottles. Room was comfortable and service was outstanding!

So there was a big storm in Dallas and flights got cancelled, Double tree is usually a good option but not all double trees are created equal. As many stranded passengers waited in the Hotel service line all other local hotels made regular stop but no sign of the double tree van, The storm took out the the hotel phone lines so calling was not an option. […] We finally took a cab only to pull up and the van was in the front nice and dry with no driver insight. I checked into hotel next to the couple I shared a cab with and they got free breakfast out of it but I had to ask for a breakfast comp, when i really needed a drink comp. The majority of the staff was rude! The breakfast, which i got free because the tv went out, was sad as everything was empty, all the tables were dirty and you had to almost beg for a drink.

Hard to believe this is a Doubletree, or anything in the Hilton family. The hotel is very run down and dilapidated with worn out and stained carpeting, dingy bathrooms, and hallways in disrepair. Service is also poor. I was given a room that had clearly been heavily smoked in and when I tried to change rooms (the hotel is supposedly all non-smoking), […] the front desk was neither helpful nor very apologetic. I was given a access key to an occupied room. It quickly escalated into a heated situation by the occupied guests. Frightening experience. I will not be using that hotel again.

I got stuck in Dallas due to weather on the east coast causing an unexpected overnight stay. I booked very last-minute and got a decent rate. The shuttle bus was a little disappointing - when I called from the airport to request it, I got transferred and put on hold about six times and it took quite awhile to show up (this was on a Thursday night). […] However, the driver was very nice and even offered to call ahead to the hotel for another passenger to make sure she and her kids could place a room service order before the kitchen closed for the night. The check-in process was easy, the room was clean, the bed was VERY comfortable, my room on the second floor was quiet and there's a Starbucks right in the lobby. There were no challenges catching the shuttle to the airport in the morning and it took maybe 5 minutes to get there and be dropped off. Overall, my stay here helped make up for the nightmare of a travel day I'd had and if I'm ever stuck in Dallas again, I'd have no problem booking another room at this hotel. Lees meer

The room was very nice, bed comfortable and soft. The TV reception on some channels was not very good but overall it was not bad. I would stay again and wouldn't have a problem recommending it to others.

I spent 18 nights in 7 hotels booked through this website and this was the most disappointing hotel on the trip. Waited 1 hour for hotel courtesy shuttle at airport after phoning hotel!

I was very diappointed with this Doubletree. I am used to a better quality room from this chain. The carpet was stained. The toilet leaked. The shower head fitting on the wall was loose. The new calking in the bathtub area was a different colour, The bed was not as comfortable as expected. It seemed old. The worst thing was that the room was a non-smoking […] room and it smelled like smoke. The people next door to us had a small dog that barked on occasion but it could be heard easily. The walls seemed a bit thin.. The hotel was in a very good location to get around which was a plus. Lees meer

I expected much more from a Doubletree. It is extremely outdated. The bathroom is tiny. You can barely shut the door. The vanity area is tiny, as well, and only one person can squeeze in there. The room was average. The service personnel were very friendly. The room was clean. You would think a hotel that is priced at this rate would be better maintained. The television controller was hard to work, the 2 main lights in the room would not turn on, the refrigerated hummed loud enough to keep you awake and the duck system was so loud it sounded like a large fan turning on and off in your ear. I could have stayed in a Super 8 […] and gotten the same poor nights sleep for 1/4 the price. Lees meer

wasnt thrilled at all, front desk messed up the reservation, or there was miscommuncation between hotels.com and them and it took 2 hours to sort. then the lobby smelled like weed.

When we arrived we had booked 2 double beds. We went to our room and the room wasn't clean. Trash in the trash can, used kleenex, broken toilet seat, and no luggage rack. I also had requested a roll away that wasn't there. I called down to the front desk and was told no one from housekeeping was there until 11 pm that night and he couldn't bring us […] a roll away to use. I told him, Lance, about the room conditions and he immediately moved us to two rooms with a kingsize bed in each. Those rooms were both clean and useable. The only issue I had was our rooms were the last two at the end of the hall 521 & 523. at the end of the hall all of the used towels from the days cleaning crew were in a HUGE pile next to our rooms. They were dirty, wet, & smelly. It definetly didn't represent a hotel, Double Tree Hotel, that took pride in their hotel to me and really turned us off. Lees meer

My overall stay was great. My key cards was ready when i got there. I partied hard new years eve and the front desk was nice enough to give me a late check out at 2pm. The hotel is a bit far but worth the view of watching the airplanes take off from the airport.

I do not believe I received my money's worth at this hotel. The location is close to the airport, however, the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel is very skewed in the pictures. Given the other options of hotels in the area, I would in the future, choose otherwise.
