Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello in Charlottesville

Hotel needs updating. The air conditioner was too noisy requiring maintenance/replacement.

we visited Monticello,and this hotel is close. the staff was extra friendly and helpful with us making our reservations. the room was clean and comfortable, the resturant had good food at reasonable prices. we will return.

We stayed at this hotel last week and had a great time. We have a dog who was heartily welcomed. The room was clean and had no evidence of pets staying there before. There is a nice restaurant, free WiFi access in the room, nice shopping located within walking distance. Monticello, the downtown mall, and university are also very close. The room had a very musty smell. They have baby cribs, but after waiting almost an hour, were told they were missing parts. Got a pack-n-play that did the job.

Older Holiday Inn, small room and very small bathroom, but still good quality. Right off Route 64 and a straight shot into town.

I have stayed here twice and have enjoyed it both times. It is convenient to UVA Hosp were my Mom had a very early morning surgery. It has always been clean and the service was extremely good and polite

Though the hotel overall was not horrible, the cleanliness and overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. There was a constant smell of sewage in the corridors of the hotel and the carpet in the hallways appeared dingy and worn. The best part about our stay was the food and service in the restaurant. Place is a little old but was well maintained. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Would stay here again when in town.

Very satisfied and will be a repeat customer. Hotel was very clean, easy to find, and responsibily priced. I would have given all 5 star rating if it were not for the heating/cooling unit in the room. It was difficult to be find a comfortable room temp. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the variety of pillows to choose from (soft or firm). […] The shower was quite nice and newly renovated. The hotel was quite and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was missing was a free contential breakfast, however they do offer breakfast in their resturant (which we chose not to do). Several other resturants are nearby as well a Pharmacy and other stores. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and will definately stay again. I booked this hotel because I was headed to Palmyra VA for work and needed a quick place to buzz into and rest for a couple hours before getting back onto the road. I booked it through Hotels.com which I do not suggest. 1st I was told it was 20mins drive from my location, try 45mins. When I spoke to the hotels.com rep on the phone they were less than […] helpful & told me I had to book ahead of time because the hotel was fully booked with the exception of 1 room, that was completely untrue also. As you can imagine I was less than excited to arrive at this hotel. When I arrived there was NO parking for a larger vehicle, so I immediately had a problem. After 30mins of trying I created a spot. When I walked in the hotel around 10:15pm I was surprised by how clean and welcoming it was. The hotel staff was super friendly & helpful. When entering the room it looked wonderful. You could tell the living space had been updated with fresh decor and wonderful beds, which were super comfortable. When I entered the bathroom I was extremely disappointed. It would appear they spent all the time on the room and didn't update anything in the bathroom. It was old, did not feel clean & the counter was less than functional. Lees meer

we only stayed all night after going to a concert in Charlottesville.. It was o.k. room nothing special and bathroom was old looking..also staff did not five us any info automatically when we checked in...found out the next morning we had to pay for breakfast...really was not worth the money for just staying all night

Wonderful, welcoming staff. Comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant "Charlotte's". Best Holiday Inn we ever stayed in.

This room was a storage room for unused furniture. It was on one of the top floors and difficult to access. I am still trying to sort out a $25.00 credit card charge I don't recognize. I requested a king and got a queen sized bed. The secondary /storage room seems to be very common when your using a booking service. The hotel was very nice. Courteous staff and warm cookies greated us in the lobby. Located right off the exit, our King room was clean and roomy. The dining room had good service and tasty meals. We would stay here again when we are in this area.

The only issue was that they did not give me the room I had booked, which would have included two double beds. Instead we were given one double bed and single roll out bed, and were told nothing else was available. Didn't make for a particularly comfortable stay.

Just stayed for a night but the room was nice and clean, the hotel was fairly quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Good stay, we'd go back.

The hotel was not clean and the rooms by the elevators were extremely noisy from both the people on the elevators and the elevator itself.

This hotel was a dump. The towels were damp when we moved in. The room smelled smoky/musty. The sink kept backing up and the toilet kept threatening to do so. The hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast. The menu offered was insipid and the price unacceptable. We ate elsewhere and will not stay at that hotel again. There was only tepid water. No hot bath or shower here. Also, pillows the size of postage stamps. BUT. the staff was very helpful and friendly.

I had a change in plans after checking out. The hotel was filling up fast due to some event in town. Online said no rooms. I called and they work it out that I was able to get them to hold a room with out payment until I could get back and check in. Thanks so much.

Hotel in a location right off I-64. Easy access to tourist locations and other driving tour sites. Restaurant in the hotel. Try for a room on the side away from the highway since there is a fair amount of noise, especially on the higher floors.

We traveled with a group of eight adults. The location to downtown was great as well as easy access back to I-81 the next morning. The toilet in our room never really flushed all the paper (which fortunately was not a problem for our brief overnight stay). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again for sure.

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn - Monticello recently to run from Hurricane Irene, and I couldn't have been more pleased with our experience! These we tougher than usual conditions, what with a full house and lots and lots of dogs and a good number of guests with special physical needs. Hotel is very well located for access to Historical sites. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My room was what I wanted. I did have trouble finding the hotel because when coming off Route 64 it is tucked in behind trees without a visible sign.

Hotel employees were very helpful, the hotel was clean and the facilities were what I expected for the price. However, the outdoor pool was cold and full of debris from the overhanging trees. Very convenient to all the sites in the area and was easy to find.

Holiday Inn-Monticello overall was excellent. Missed it coming off the highway because the sign was obstructed by trees, but once we found it, it was fine. Air conditioning unit in the room was a bit loud. Hotel & room were clean, staff was friendly. Bathtub drain a little slow to empty. We'd stay here again. Very convenient to Monticello.

I was out of my hotel all day. Cleaning staff did not come to clean the room until 4 p.m., the time I arrived back to get ready for a party. They were adamant they had to clean the room by five or else it would not be done. They kept calling the room and knocking on the door. I kept telling them I would be gone by five. They said the room couldn't be […] cleaned then. I said it was not my problem, that they would have to give me a new room when I got back. They were very rude. In the end, they somehow managed to clean the room after five o'clock. They gave us Room 123 right next to housekeeping so we were awakened every morning to loud Spanish speakers slamming doors. Nice hotel, very nice staff! Convenient to Monticello. Would be nice if the in room refrigerator had a freezer to keep our travel freezer packs cold enough to maintain our cooler. Our room was well maintained, the only down side was that the windows were so thim we could hear the frogs and crickets outside so clearly we thought the windows were open! […] Truck traffic was a bit annoying too. My family and I enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn Charlottesville. We came to visit Monticello and the University of Virginia and the location of the hotel was excellent for our purposes. The hotel is in a great location to access the area attractions and was reasonably priced. The location wasn't the best, being right off the highway. Not too bad though. Clean and spacious room. Nice pool.
