It's a real cool retro hotel. We stayed in one of the smaller buildings and it was so architecturally awesome...Second Story full vault with lots of natural light. the hotel and staff were awesome. i would consider staying ther again.the hotel gift shop prices were very very high on everything. the staff in the store were rude also. the closest ATM is about 2 blocks over.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Howard Johnson. The atmosphere is excellent with just a 7 minute walk to the front gates of Disneyland & Californa Adventure Park. They have the Pirate theme pool for the kids and if your not in the Parks the kids will be in this pool. They also have another pool if you dont want to be surrounded by kids. You can […] also watch the fireworks from the grounds of the Howard Johnson without the crowds in the Park. The Staff are excellent even looking after some of our bags while we went on a cruise before retuning to the Howard Johnson. They even look after you after you have checked out by letting you use the pool etc. while waiting for your airport transfer. If you would love to stay at The Disneyland Resort but can't afford the price, The Howard Johnson has a more affordable price tag for families. The Disney Park hotels are expensive... not to mention getting in the park. This hotel is not t class, but pretty good for the price. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Glad we got the "premium" room.

My kids had a blast in the Mini kids water park, but that's it. The room sucked. Not worth the money we spent.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. We had accidentally booked two rooms when we needed only one, and they credited one of the rooms without any hassle. We also forgot our toiletries and the front desk provided them. The location is an easy walking distance to Disneyland, and the kids loved the Pirate's pool.

This hotel has many things going for it - location (right across from Disney entrance), free parking and great little water park for young kids. However, if you are planning on a quiet, restful night...beware! Unless you can guarantee that those above and next to you will not walk, talk or watch TV, you should avoid. You simply can't beat the swimming pool/water park if you have kids.A small but fun waterpark with pirate boat and small water slides and bucket splashes makes this hotel great. Close to Disney, large comfortable rooms, clean and awesome pools, families cannot go wrong booking this hotel!

Best hojo I have stayed at. Although the rooms are dated, the fan made a loud sound, and the pillows were hard. However the hotel was clean, location was great, and staff was friendly. The water park was a big plus. For the rate, you can't get better. All expectations were either met or exceeded.

Was very disappointed in this hotel!! Very old and needs remodeling ASAP!! The rugs were dirty and not a place I would ever stay again!! Not worth the money we paid for it!!

Kids loved water park area and time of year we went, there was little competition for the lounge chairs! Next time we will plan a longer stay.

Had a great stay. Hotel is just a short wall from disneyland and many restaurants.

Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend, and now I know why! Don't waste your money staying in one of the three "Disney" hotels - HoJo is just as close, has better service and is a fraction of the price!!! And the kids LOVED the pool!

Would definetely return to the Howard Johnson on our next vacation to Anaheim. A short walk to the front gate of Disneyland. On a street that has fast food and family restaurants. The water park was a big hit with the small children for those days off from the fast pace of all the sites and tours available in Anaheim. Needs remodeling.

I could not fault this hotel at all. We stayed for 9 nights, excellent location, 5 mins walk to Disneyland and the water park is an assest to this hotel, the kids were there everyday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel is a MUST stay. Excellent value for what you pay :-)

Service was excellent and rooms were clean. There's only two problems with the hotel stay. First if you have the freeway as your view and you like silence when you sleep then you want to make sure it's a room away from the freeway. You will hear the freeway noise (light to medium sound). We had a great stay! The room was comfy and clean. It does need updating and I wasn't a fan of the skylights because it made the room too bright for naps. The staff was very nice and tried to get us a late check out so our little one could take a nap but they booked every room at the last minute. They were very helpful and the parking was free! The hotel was definitely walking distance to Disneyland. My one huge complaint was that the elevator was out of order more than half the time we were there!!! We had a 4yo and a 6 month old. I had to climb 3 flights of stairs. The worst was when we were packing to go home it was out of order. The front desk receptionist was very nice, our room was ready for early check in. The room and grounds were nice and clean. We will definitely stay here again.

hotel was great, room was very clean and abit to bright as it needed darker curtains in the above arch windows, overall had a good time, pool was very clean and well maintained, glad the hotel provided free wifi. Would stay here again

had fun watching the Disney fireworks from the Jacuzzi. Wonderful stay. Would definitely come back again!

I live locally in Southern California and visit Disneyland frequently. We decided to stay in a hotel as we were going to spend the entire weekend with a small child (under two years) at the resort. The Disneyland Hotels' prices were astronomical even with my passholder discount. The Howard Johnson Plaza price was reasonable and the walking distance […] was not bad at all. I regularly park in the Disney & Friends parking garage and the walk from the hotel to the resort is about the same distance from that parking area to the tram. The hotel has two pools, one with a nice play area for the kids and another more adult pool if you don't want to be bothered by kids. There are good restaurants within easy walking distance -- Mimi's Cafe right next door and a Millie's Coffee Shop just down the street, as well as fast food, McDonalds and others. The freeway is close, but although we had an end room practically next to the freeway, we didn't hear the noise at all so the rooms are well insulated. The hotel has a well-stocked gift shop with snacks, breakfast items, drinks, fresh fruit, clothing, and nice souvenier items. There is a game room and free wi-fi that worked just fine. We needed to use a portable crib and they provided the kind with the metal bars and thin mattress. That could be improved. Our room had a balcony with a door that opened on to it so we could have fresh air and a view of the Matterhorn at Disneyland. On the day of our check-in, we arrived very early in the morning and the hotel gave us a pass and allowed us to park in their lot instead of at Disneyland, which was a nice service. They also allowed us to remain parked in their lot on check-out day while we were still at Disneyland. The only negative thing was the lot did get overfull --probably because of their generous parking policy. We left one car at the hotel and drove one car to Disneyland as I park free with my pass. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel - after seeing the proximity to the highway, I was sure I would hear it all night. Once we checked in, we found that soundproofing had obliterated all outside noise, and it was quiet in the building. this hotel is great - walking distance to disney - clean and staff were accommodating. only complaint is that our room was by the housekeeping closet and our doorway was blocked at times by housekeepers. Pool was gorgeous - everything was wonderful otherwise

had the family room which was awesome. Kids had there room we had ours. Loved the safe in the closet. water park was great for the kids. Easy walking distance to Disneyland, walked there everyday with my 3,6,9,11 year old. Only thing that was missing was a work out facility.

Overall the hotel was just good. It was clean and had a nice family pool and a nice water park for the kids. Although the attendant at the water park was less then excited to be doing what she does for a living. Not enough parking. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, house keeping was great they made us feel like family ..everything was walking distance disney land, Mc D's, I hop, subway..thank you

We stayed 6 nights at the HOJO in October in Building 2. This building had no noise as although it is next to the freeway all the rooms are on the opposite side facing the garden pool. The lifts and corridoor are on the freeway side. The room was nice and clean, staff helpful. The pools were nice but it was very cold weather at the time of stay. WIFI […] is good. It is a 5-10 min walk to the disneyland gates. If you think this is too far then don't go to Disneyland as you will walk alot at the park. DIsneyland was fabulous for the the whole family. We all had a great time. Mimi's Cafe next door was fantastic. We had dinner there 3 times and the food was excellent and great value. Highly recommended. This hotel was perfect! He staff was nice and very helpful. Room was clean and bed was actually really comfortable. The weather wasnt nice enough for is to take advantage of the water park area but we will definitely be back this summer. We are frequent visitors to Disneyland and have stayed at many hotels along S Harbor Blvd. HoJo's was a very nice hotel, clean, easy access however we were given a second floor room in Bldg 5 which looked great when we walked in with huge arched ceilings with matching huge windows in them which made the rooms feel bigger - problem is, no window coverings […] so at night all the lights from the street and such came streaming in - hard to bring a small child back for a nap when you can't darken the room up. Excellent location. 10 min. walk to Disneyland. 15 min. to Cheesescake Factory and Bubba gumps. Staff very helpful with rental car and airport shuttle. Convenience store on site well stocked. Pools great

Quiet rooms, comfortable beds, quiet heating and air conditioner. Best value near Disneyland. It would be even better if they had a shuttle to the park.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. They upgraded our room because of some construction going on where they were going to put us, so we faced the disneyland fireworks every night. We were on the 3rd floor of the 1st building. Very close to all kinds of food options and the disneyland park.

Can walk to Disneyland. Several places to eat within walking distance. Great Water Park for younger children. Had my grandkids 3 , 5, and 8 they loved it almost as much as Disneyland.
