Providence Biltmore Hotel in Providence

Dichtbij het Rhode Island Convention center waar ik moest zijn. Diverse restaurants op loop afstand. Lekkere oesters en sashimi gegeten aan bar van Bitmore Hotel. Goede prijs en grote kamer via Hotel.com.

Ligt zeer centraal ; prachtig hotel met zeer ruime kamers vooral de junior suites. De kamers mogen evenwel een opfris beurt krijgen. Zo is het tapijt hier en daar vervuilt en vraagt het hout verf.

this hotel has been sold and modernizing the floors above 3 is not yet a priority....I was there on a chilly night and my 5th floor room had no heat..and there were no heaters available.....the room had a run down feel....the lobby and the first three floors are gorgeous though so when it's finished it should be great...

Lobby is beautiful, restaurant (McCormick's) is excellent, room was clean but needs new coat of paint and bathroom renovation, bed was extremely comfortable, not far from Amtrak, and Starbucks is right next door. I would make a return visit to this hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, however the non-smoking room smelled disgustingly like smoke and front desk staff was not too helpful!

We have just returned from a 10 day road trip around New England. We booked most of our trip in McDonalds using their free wi-fi a couple of days in advance. Providence was not somewhere I'd particularly aimed to see - but it is a beautiful city & am glad we did. Then, we booked the Biltmore Hotel. This hotel was absolutely fantastic. It is an 'old […] style' hotel that feels very 'regal' & the attention to detail both for the building and for guests was great. The access to Starbucks downstairs was nice, views from the rooms, staff waiting to open the door for you, etc. I spend over a month a year at different hotels in the US & would have to say this is a particular standout. in short - if you get the chance - stay here. Valet and front desk extremely friendly and helpful with directions to local area. Beautiful lobby, comfortable beds and old world charm.

Convenient location for short city business trip.

Beautiful, historical building. Very close to all places of interest (walking distance). Quiet, spacious and very well kept.

Needs a fridge...had some nice stuffed spinach pizza and had left overs and couldn't save it....

Its unfortunate but The Biltmore is on the tired side! it needs major room renovation (no fan in our bathroom, chipped bathtub, tired towels, no refrig, no black out curtains etc.). However, the doormen were wonderful, but when we asked the front desk for an additional lamp for the other side of the queen bed to be able to read, no lamp appeared.

Came in to Providence for just a college open house, but was pleasantly surprise with the charm of the area.

Everything about this hotel is great as long as the AC is working. When we arrived the room was 84 degress. When we called the front desk we were advised that they do not turn on the Ac until next week :(

Great location, nice staff...but the hotel was SO HOT!!! AC wasn't working properly. The entire hotel was hot!!! Would definitely stay again, though!

Location was excellent for us as we were attending a show at the Providence Performance Center. Rooms are a bit run down but the hotel is an historic antique. The lobby is very nice and there is a restaurant off the lobby. I would recommend it to friends or anyone wanting to stay downtown.

The hotel is fantastic and historic. It is greatly located in the downtown area... A couple of blocks from the convention center and Providence Place mall... The only problem i had with the hotel was that it was rather warm the couple of days i was there and the AC was not working because it was rare warm days in March... I was told that it takes two […] weeks from them to change over from heat to AC... There is a starbucks in the lobby as well a nice restaurant... Definitely worth the stay... Lees meer

Its easy to get to. From there its easy to get to other places. Its big, old and grand, and its a little spooky so that's kinda cool too. I'd certainly recommend this place to others. I also am looking forward to heading back one fire water starts.

beautiful old style hotel---staff with the uniform was elegant, the food at the restaraunt was delicious--- i am in providence at least four times a year and this will be my hotel---

Spent one night here on a quick visit to Providence. The room was comfortable but turned out to be waaaay too hot in the middle of the night, even though the thermostat was set to 55. We didn't complain, since we were just trying to sleep through the night. I'm sure that something could have been done about the temperature (or at least I hope so). Very nice hotel, conveniently located in the downtown area. Good value for the money!

The hotel had a rich history which was interesting to learn, yet the hotel was fully up to date and modern. The service was fantastic and everyone was helpful with giving suggestions of places to go and eat. The beds were the most comfortable bed I have ever experienced in a hotel. needs new mattress

We travel and go away for weekends often and were very pleased. I could not say enough. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond both in the hotel and the restaurant. Smiles greated us everywhere we went. The Starbucks in the lobby was convenient and cozy? I found this hotel to be a throw back to the days of grace and class which is sometime lost

While the lobby takes you on a breathtaking journey back to the 20s and 30s, the glitz stops there. Our room came with pillows that felt like rocks and it took two complaints to get new pillows. Also the shower was broken, when put to shower half the water came out the tub spicket leaving less than desirable water pressure. The restaurant was great […] food with shoddy service. I admire the historic look and feel of the hotel. It can use some updating and thorough cleaning. The gym is useless unless your the only one in there, since the power has to be restored if 2 people use a treadmill. The front desk staff is a little snippy, recommending sandwich spots when asking about fine dining in the area and asking us to inquire […] with their restaurant if we wanted a bucket of ice sent to our room for our Champagne (ridiculous!). Extremely noisy, could not sleep a wink. We were on the 12th floor and had a gorgeous room; but we ultimately were exhausted after our stay from hearing sirens all night long.

This grand old hotel is very much in need of tlc to return it to its former elegance. The room was very much in need of maintenance, from the toilet that kept running to the curtains which did not close. It also needs updating.... The TV was a very old tube-type standard def and there were no services (check bill, room service, ppview, etc) of the kind […] u expect at a better hotel. However, common areas of hotel are beautiful and it is still worth a stay. I was told it was just purchased out of bankruptcy so hopefully the new owner will put some money into it. Lees meer

The hotel is beautiful, and the bed is probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. However, there is absolutely no sound insolation. When I was unpacking my room, I heard every word of the phone conversation of the woman in the next room as if she was sitting right next to me. I could hear the "ding" of elevator with my door closed, and I was […] 8 rooms down from the elevator. The halways not only echo, but amplify the voices of people talking in the hallways, so again, it was like they were in my room with me. As far as ammenities, the TV is an old console style TV and the service is interruped in heavy winds. Since the hotel goes up to floor 18, I'm sure you can immagine that it can get quite windy. It does however offer free wireless internet, and the server speeds were able to keep up with my needs. Lees meer

I had to switch to the nearby Westin after just one night of stay at the Biltmore. The hotel is badly in need of some serious renovation. The hallways could be used as a film set for a sequel to The Shining. The rooms are creepy old, with the wallpaper begging to be ripped out, the carpet smelling of old mildew or some other unsavory fungus. The concierge […] was friendly, but I think mainly because they are so used to comforting appalled guests. Bottom line: if you can afford an extra $40-$50, stay at either the Westin or the Renaissance instead. Lees meer

The hotel was comfortable and clean. We loved having the two king beds in a separate room from the sitting room so someone could sleep while others watched TV. It is centrally located and convenient to everything. The only downside is that some renovations may be needed in the bath area.

My husband and I and 2 boys stayed at the Biltmore over February break. The hotel interior is grand and the staff is extremely polite and helpful. The room we stayed in was a little worn (wallpaper was fuzzy) but charming. The location is terrific - we had great weather and were able to get to everywhere we wanted to go on foot. The ice skating rink […] at Kennedy Plaza is right across the street. The only complaint we had was that the sofa bed was broken and we were planning on using it. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk, they provided a comfortable cot that worked fine. Overall, a terrific stay. Lees meer

We liked the room and hotel very much and it was walking distance to lots of restaurants. It might be haunted though. Check the stories on the web.

The hotel is a great period hotel - lots of character, with a beautiful glass elevator in the lobby. The hotel is within walking distance to nearly everything that you'd like to do in Providence. I definitely recommend it!
