Hotel de France in Wenen

Super geschikt voor stedentrip Wenen. Ontbijt duur, maar zeer uitgebreid en goed! 's Avonds bar waardeloos, slechte muziek (pianist) en langzame bediening met zeer hoge prijzen! Weinig mensen zaten daar, dus weinig gezelligheid.

Uitstekend. Alleen kamers op de 5e verdieping hebben last van het dak, dat in de zomer zeer veel warmte doorlaat. Daardoor blijft de kamer broeierig. Voor het overige, niets dan lof.

Breakfast was Superb!, included with price. Opera house near by was great! walking distances a little far from hotel but can catch "hop on and off". shopping district near by and walking is fine.

Great location and the hotel has been remodeled, but public rooms need freshing up. The room was very clean, but the mattresses need to be replaced. Very uncomfortable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating

This hotel is very central to all major sights. It's within easy walking distance of everything you need to see in Vienna. The decor is elegant and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast is delicious. I'd definitely recommend it.

This hotel was very conveniently located within walking distance of all the best places to see and the underground. The room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was excellent and served until late! The staff were helpful and efficient. Overall we could not have done better.

This was the first time my girlfriend and I went to Vienna so we didn't know what to expect. But we were overwhelmed by the city as a whole and Hotel de France was a significant part of this experience. From the moment we entered the hotel we were met by smiling and service-minded staff, eager to help us with absolutely anything and everything. Check-in […] went fast and seamlessly and several porters were ready to carry our luggage up to our room. We hadn't withdrawn any money from the ATM yet so I only had a €1 coin from a previous visit to a "Euro country." I handed over the coin to the porter and apologized for not having more to offer him, but he accepted it with a smile and continued his focus on service and giving us a helping hand or helpful information. The hotel room was bigger than what we expected at the price we paid. It was clean and cozy. The bathroom looked great had everything we needed. Minibar was included! Very impressive. (Though the porter informed us this was only for the rest of 2011. From January 2012 the minibar would sadly not be included anymore.) Room service was impeccable and they refilled the minibar twice a day at least. The safe was free to use and also easy to handle (6-digit code you choose yourself.). We tested out the hotel bar one of the evenings/nights and the service there was also good. We could order food at all hours and the price of food and drinks was relatively low. Quality of the food, even though we ordered late at night, was nothing to complain about! The only three things that can be noted that are close to the "negative" end of the spectrum would be; (1) that there was no balcony or any view to brag about, not that it mattered much for us since we were mostly out in the beautiful streets of Vienna. (2) The showerhead over the bathtub could've been placed on one of the far sides of the tub instead of in the middle. (3) It would've been preferable with one big bed instead of two smaller ones put together. We never Lees meer

The stay with the Hotel is good. The only unsatisfactory aspects is that even though the Hotel advertise that their rooms are air-condictioned, they do not switch them on in Oct which makes the room hot and stuffy.

CLOSE TO SUBWAY. VERY CLEAN, BIG ROOMS, FREE MINI BAR, HELPFUL FRONT DESK. HOWEVER, VERY EXPENSIVE DRINKS IN HOTEL BAR, BETTER TO GET BREAKFAST AT SUBWAY STATION, GREAT QUALITY AND STEPS AWAY.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, the surroundings. It is worth the price

This is a great hotel. The only thing wrong is that the room was too hot the first week of October. We had to open the windows because they had turned off the air conditioning, which we didn't figure out until the 2nd day.

The hotel is located very well and it has courteous staff. Rooms are big and brings about the old charm. Will recommend.

Great place to stay. Close to everything. I would stay there again when Im back in town.

Very nice hotel & great location! Staff was very helpful & friendly. Only negative was lack of air conditioning on a very warm evening!

Fine room with large, very good twinbed.Well isolated windoes, in this way calm.Hotell easy to find and very good connected with public transport. Nice easy walk to the senter as well. The breakfast is not included, and very expensive to buy - we did not eat there becouse of this. The younger personal at the reception desk are nice and helpful, but […] do not let to direct your choices. Our only problem was that the maid was too eager to clean the room too early several times. Stayed at this hotel Many times. Efficient and friendly service always. hotel old style but with some of the rooms updated and modern. Room sizes are large in General for todays Standards

Loved the Hotel ! Front desk very helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable , however better furniture would of been more applicable. The Hotel is cosy and is recommended for anyone !

This hotel was a great deal. The room was spacious and clean, the service was friendly and responsive, and the hotel's location was excellent. I'd definitely stay there again when in Vienna. I highly recommend this hotel.

Good location but far from 5 star. Closer to a 3 star in the US. From the quality of linens to towels to the $10 artwork on the wall or 24" tube TV this hotel is far from outdated. Choose it for the location but don't expect 5 or 4 star service.

Hotel de France was fantastic! It is in a great location, right next to the underground, and if you look straight down the street you can see an amazing old cathedral. The neighborhood is very safe and well lit at night. The room itself was incredible, very clean and spacious and the air conditioning worked. The free mini bar was a very good perk, there […] was a little box of peanuts, 4 water bottles (2 with gas, 2 without), a bottle of orange juice, an energy drink, and a few beers). Nice hotel on the edge of The Ring. A little out of the way so be prepared to walk, however located right next to a metro station. Helpful reception staff. Rooms large, clean and comfortable. Free-mini bar and wifi were useful.

A bit expensive at €26

The hotel was great. Very good location and walking distance to most things. The bed was very comfortable and we were upgraded for free. Overall great place and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The location was perfect as there is an underground station just outside hotel, which made it very easy to explore the city. It is also within walking distance of city centre. The hotel itself was very clean with large rooms, hotel staff were also very friendly, would stay here again if ever in vienna.

This is a great hotel, weel situated, Nuff said.

Perfectly located in a beautiful street lined with gorgeous buildings. a short walk to the Parliament building. the room was excellent, great bed, cover and pillows. and the minibar is free. overall, it was a perfect stay.

The Hotel was excellent and the staff were attentive and courteous and very helpful. If I were to have a criticism it would be for the cost of food and drinks. Hotel de France was great value, excellent location, friendly staff and rooms were comfortable. I would stay again and would recommend to anyone.

The hotel is located near the Schttentor U2 subway station. One can do all the sightseeing by subway or by walking. Vienna University is just about a block away. Walking along DR. Karl-Lueger Ring, one can visit the parlament,Musiem Quartier, Opera House. One can walk to Stephansplatz to see the st. Stephen 's Cathedral and Albertina nearby to see its […] fine arts collection. Hotel stay does not include breakfast. Cost of breakfast at the hotel is 26 Euro per person. One can get relative inexpensive meals in the near by restaurants. There is a MacDonald also near by. The Hotel de France in Vienna is located on the Schotten Ring in historic downtown. The location could not be more convenient, with a U2 (U-Bahn) station literally right outside the hotel. The hotel is very nice and the room though not big is comfortable. However when signing for the price of breakfast they wrote the price of a single breakfast when we entered as two. Only on checkout were we informed that the breakfast cost twice what we thought (more than any dinner we ate in our stay). Beautiful hotel - very convenient to tourist attractions and just steps away from the subway line. Breakfast was expensive. Would definitely go back there.

The hotel is really Great ! Great Location and great facilitis. The only thing is why they are charching 26Euro for breakfast. The Room price is not one of the chippest....
