Holiday Inn CoCo Key Sports Complex in Kansas City

My stay was just okay. Defiantly won't stay there again when I go back to Kansas City. The staff at the front were all pretty nice but to of the members were very rude and didn't care. The elevator service was horrible because of all the kids playing on them. Once to the room we. Priced that only 4 light bulbs worked out of 4 lamps and 3 lights in the […] bathroom. The hotel's indoor pool was way too cold and the whirlpool was way too hot. Was not useable during our stay. When the hotel was busy during the weekend, elevators were useless. While the rooms were clean and comfortable, we were disturbed by noise from the hallway.

We have 4 children under the age of 8. the waterpark was perfect for them. The rate was reasonable (2nd cheapest attraction for our family during our stay in KC) and the pools were perfectly suited for small children. My older kids enjoyed it as well. The pool was clean and warm. The restaurant had an excellent family deal for meals. The Price was good […] but the food was only average. The room was nice and most of the staff was very pleasant. We loved it. The food is good but service sucked.

This hotel was a joke. We arrived and waitied in linefor twenty minutes to check-in then found out we had to pay twenty-five per person to use the water park. The same price as people who walked in off the streets and not staying in the hotel. We then finally got into our rooms. Which we reserved and ending up being down the hall from our children. […] Instead of adjoining. The blankets and sheets on one of the beds was covered in hair. Horrible, horrible!! Wifi down for most of our 4 day stay. But when it IS working, you have to pay for it. Elevator stopped working with people IN it! Rude staff. The "restaurant" is over-priced with poor, limited choices. The snack bar sells their candy bars for approx. $4/bar. My 20 oz bottle of water was $3.75. Outdated furniture and decor. We prebooked at the Holiday Inn in KC with a waterpark in advance. Our on-line booking was for two queen size beds to for two adults and two children. This is springbreak weekend. Check in time is at 4PM, we arrived early at 1PM to attempt an early checkin. We were told rooms aren't ready until 4-5PM, but we can go ahead and get pre checked in for room […] assignment as it gets ready. We were fine with that and went to the waterpark attached to the hotel. At 5:30PM, kids were tired of playing and we went to check in with the front desk for our room. We were told no room available and we would literally have to wait in line for a key assignment for a room. My wife waited and when she was called to the front desk, we were offered two standard bed, when we booked for two queens. Front desk clerk said the online booking was incorrect and they did not have any rooms with two queens. Wed asked for options and they offered a king size bed and can CHARGE us extra for a roll away bed. Insane--they screw up our booking that was prepaid. Didn't have rooms ready and tried to charge us a roll away due to their online booking error. We also tried to order a movied for ur kids. The movie did not work even though we had our credit card on file. I called the front desk as the TV instruction directed, when I called the front desk, the operator put me on hold without explanation, only to be connected to the guest service line. I had to explain the same problem to guest service and they had to manually provide the move---this is after 14 minute on hold. The guest service said front desk was new an apologized. Hotel manager should have planned and staff more appropriately for a spring break weekend--with well qualified staff. Also their whirlpool tub was not working. Hotel was clean, but service was very poor and tried to charge customers for errors created by hotel and their online booking agent. Lees meer

Not a bad hotel except for the elevators. Left a bad experience because of it.

I think that our stay would have been much better if the hotel elevators were working properly. They are supposed to be fixed in 2 weeks from the time we stayed there. Out of 3 elevators, I think maybe 1 or 2 were working at all..and not very well at that. We took 5 flights of stairs on several occasions to avoid the 1-15 minute wait just to catch an […] elevator. its rediculous that u have to pay extra if you are staying just to swim in the water park!!

I do not typically leave negative reviews, but I feel it is appropriate after this hotel stay. I was traveling with a friend and our 3 children, so the waterpark feature was appealing. The kids had fun there. Hotel staff and (especially restaurant staff) were friendly and as accommodating as they could be given the run down, inadequate hotel facilities. […] Elevators were broken. One was functional. We schlepped our goods and children (and infant) up and down the creepy stairs. Our room had dirty pillow cases, which they happily replaced. The tub did not drain, so we showered standing in each others' funky dirt water. Gross. Hallway noise restrictions are not enforced until 11pm, so we had the pleasure of listening to our fellow guests gathering in the hallway using inappropriately loud voices (not the hotel's fault that their guest are rude, but to be told that noise levels are not restricted until well past our bedtime is disappointing). While we slept, 5-10 cars were broken into. Upon arrival and departure, we sought a cart to carry our luggage since we were also carrying small children. Alas, none were available. Friendly staff did call up to the floors to request more, but we never saw them arrive. Overall, a horrible hotel stay. Lees meer

We stayed here specifically because of its location to the Arrowhead Stadium. The hotel staff was curteous and brought a roll-away bed immediately to our room when needed (and we did not get charged for it). The weather was so nice we walked to the stadium for the football game. We weren't there long enough to try the indoor water park but will probably […] go to a baseball game next summer and do the waterpark. I would stay here again. Lees meer

Coco Key passes not included in the reservation, hotel indoor-pool closed so they can charge $25 (NO twilight passes after 4-9 pm), heather in the room didn't work, and they send a technician at 11pm to fix it, trash all over the parking lot, totally disappointed of Holliday Inn CoCo Key Sports Complex

This was a nice place to stay. We had a big group with several kids and 3 rooms. The kids really enjoyed it and they had some really nice common areas where we could gather and enjoy some talking/games, etc. They were working on their elevators, so that was a pain to get up and downstairs, but hopefully they are working again soon. They do allow dogs […] in the rooms...we had a huge dog next door to us and i could hear it bark once during the day. I was hoping it would not bark at night and it did not. I called the front desk and yes they allow dogs, but it really made me wonder about the cleanliness of the carpets and such in the rooms when they let big dogs and little dogs for that matter stay in their rooms. Kind of gross if you ask me. Enjoyed the beds and comfy to stay, the rooms were updated recently. The bathrooms were small but very nice. Lees meer

We were there for the Green Bay Packer/KC Chiefs game. The room was comfortable the staff good. The restaurant was not prepared for the amount of people expecting to eat for evening buffet. We found ourselves walking across the road to the local Denny' s instead of waiting, for what seemed like a half empty dining room. Restaurant staff seemed untrained. Overall […] it was comfortable. When we returned from the football game everyone had to have their room key cards re-keyed , computer system failure is what we were told. Handled efficiently, it was just inconvenient not the staff's fault. Management should have offered us a free bar drink though..maybe... Lees meer

Close to arrowhead for games. Clean. I've stayed 2x and really like it.

We arrived on Saturday for a two night football trip. I would not, however, recommend this hotel, even with its proximity to Arrowhead Stadium. The entire ninth floor (hallways) smelled like vomit. Elevator troubles were constant, making it fun to go up and down 9 flights of stairs. Also, a glitch in their computer system required all guests to have […] their room keys re-programmed. Don't expect to get a drink at the motel bar. Staff is unfriendly and you will wait for over an hour and still not be served. The rest of the motel and the location was great.

Kid friendly hotel

We have stayed here several times and enjoy it each time we come. The kids love the waterpark! We recently relocated to Fort Riley, KS from Florida and get very homesick. We love to come over to holiday inn coco key and get a little feel of home with the indoor waterpark. It is like a mini vacation!

Very disatisfied with our recent stay at the Coco Key Holliday Inn in Kansas City. Overall condition of the hotel was very dirty and outdated. Elevators did not work properly which caused delays any time we tried to use them. Had to use stairs from the 12th floor to the lobby several times. Location of hotel was nice as we were in town for football […] game at Arrowhead Stadium, however the neighborhood isn't very good. Our vehicle was broken into and the hotel explained that they didn't have any security cameras or security personel. They didn't offer to help with any of the expense of our break in or with any items that were taken. Very frustrating end to our trip. Lees meer

It was in a perfect location since we were going to the Chiefs game. The hotel was clean and well kept. The beds were rather uncomfy. And the waterpark was chilly that day. My 1 1/2 year old could not stay in that area because her lips were turning purple, along with many other kids I noticed. Although my 6 year old loved it and had a blast!

I booked this hotel for my wife's birthday trip to see the Chargers play the Chiefs. The fact that the hotel was across the highway from the stadium and provided shuttle service were key to selecting it. First, the good: Everyone at the hotel was very nice. The quality of food was a pleasant surprise and prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant. […] The room itself wasn't too bad in appearance, also it was much darker and drabber than in the pictures. The shuttle was convenient, if a little disorganized. It was also busier than expected, since the hotel allows the general public to pay a parking fee and use the shuttle. Then, the bad: The people in the room next door came "home" about 3AM. I expect to hear some noise, but I have never been in a hotel where sounds transmit so clearly. First was a fairly long conversation where we were fully privy to every word. Nothing was muffled, it was as though we were in the room with them. Once the conversation ended we became auditory voyeurs to every intimate movement and sound they made, being woken up several times during the night. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep. We left the next morning, even though the room was prepaid for 3 nights, and booked another hotel room. Lees meer

The restaraunt within the hotel was terrible- service was slow and food was cold- we witnessed many people walking out after waiting and it wasn't overly busy.

The location is ideal for walking to the stadiums, however we had 3 lights out in the room, an outlet that didn't work, and a dead tv remote. The view of the hotel loading area was not ideal either. However, the Bath & Body Works shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were a welcome surprise. The kitchen closed at 10 and we didn't get in until nearly then […] and they won't let pizza delivery men up to your room. It was misleading that water park passes were not included for that price considering the condition of the room. Due to this added expense, we were unable to bring our kids with us so that they could go to the water park. Lees meer

The hotel was great!! The only issue I had wasn't with the hotel at all it's that hotels.com doesn't advertise this hotel correctly on their website. The waterpark is not included in the price for the room. You don't find this out until you check in. Hotels.com needs to put on their website that the waterpark is NOT included in the hotel rates.

We took our 7 yo to CoCo for her birthday and it was very fun for the whole family. Our 2yo boy even enjoyed the slides.Guards are very alert. Not much of a restaurant selection in the immediate area. Kauffman and Arrowhead stadium were visible from our room. Very close to Union Station and Country Club plaza. Only complaint was that we only had decaff […] coffee and no shower curtain. Staff was there before I got back to room. Excellent hotel and staff. Lees meer

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. Every thing from the bar, to the restaraunt was first class for a very reasonable price. I rented two rooms and my only complaint was there was no soap in either room.

the hotel is beautiful

Stayed here many times when attending a Chiefs or Royals game. They offer a free shuttle to and from the stadiums, and always have food available prior to and after the games. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

there was a major wait time for elevators the entire stay. Only 1 elevator was working. Next time instead of taking out 2 elevators at a time, do only 1

This is the tall hotel across i-70 from Arrowhead. You can tell Holiday Inn has tried to fix the place up and make it look fresh and new. But it looks like an older place that someone tried to make look fresh and new but only almost got there. The room was fine, the bathroom pretty tight. The tub did not drain while I took a shower so I was standing […] in water. I was too tired to get out, get dressed, and ask for maintenance. The front desk was nice and we did not see the water park. If you need a cheap place that is super close to the sports complex this works. Just do not expect greatness. I've stayed at this hotel a handful of time over the past 2 years and it has be great each time. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great stay for Families.

Very nice hotel, only problem was the indoor pool was not in working order and had the family with us. Would of liked to know the indoor pool was not available during booking or even after.

Nice for kids, had fun.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. When we booked the hotel it was because of the water park. When we made the reservation the agent even talked up the water park and stated how nice it was. We check in and find out the water park was closed. In addition the hot tub at the hotel was broken. The service at the hotel was horrible also. Getting towels and […] such for the room was also problematic because they kept stating how short handed they were. The hallways smelt like urine and the elevators were scary. Lastly the hotel shop that sold coffee and other items was open but literally no one worked there. That morning I waited for 30 minutes for coffee just to find out that they were open but could not sell me coffee because the regular employee decided not to show up and no one else could work the register or brew the coffee. Very nice hotel. Would have been 5 stars except the airconditioner was noisy and they charged me $5 for a draft beer in the restaurant.

We heard those words a lot while on our stay. Unfortunately the pools are closed, unfortunately we are out of that, and unfortunately that has moved to winter hours. It was a common word used by all employees. I think if everything was in working order then it would have been a great stay instead of just ok.

I was not pleased with the maid service. It didn't bother me that I didn't get new towels, there were plenty of them. I was not pleased with the regular coffee cups being replaced by stryrofoam and she took the bath mat but did not replace it.
