Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter in Lake Buena Vista

Located well to Downtown Disney and the four main parks as well as having bus and river access was useful. Very clean and roomy - will ask for top floor next time as some minor plumbing and floor noises from room above. Otherwise very quiet - looked over river. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Part of the price of staying at a Disney Resort is the experience...not only being able to participate in the Extra Magic Hours, but also having your hotel be a theme park of sorts as well. The two Port Orleans resorts are absolutely beautiful. The theming is fantastic, both inside the rooms and out. Service was great. Positive things: 1) Walking around […] these resorts is great. Nice little workout from one part of the 2 hotels to the other. 2) Riverboat transportation to the Downtown Disney area was nice. 3) The pool area was very nicely themed, and allowed for it to be very full but not feel crowded. Hot tub was not really enclosed, but in a nice secluded area 4) TWO sinks in the pre bathroom area, as well as a curtain you can pull to separate the pre bathroom area from the room. I did have a few gripes though, that prevented me from scoring this 5 stars: 1) Full beds instead of queen beds. "Doubles" might be standard in other parts of the country, but almost every hotel in the area has 2 Queen beds when there are two beds in a room, even the cheaper $30 hotels. 2) My bed was super noisy and not comfortable. The other bed in the room was better, but at the point point they should be nicer and newer. The value resorts have nicer beds than this. Granted, this might have been a room that hasn't been upgrade yet, since I know they did a lot of that recently. 3) Fridge has no temperature control, and did not get very cold even after they replaced it once. We have stayed at a lot of disney resorts, and this was the best one. The employees in the lobby were very nice, and the resort had a lot of activities. the rooms were the same set up as most of the disney hotels, but the grounds were really nice. The boat to downtown disney was great, and ran until 11. The food court is good, and they have good live […] music at night. I would stay here next time i return to disney. Lees meer

The pillows were very lumpy, and had a musty smell. The beds were not comfortable. the towels were paper thin, the their were no tissues in the bathroom.

First time staying on-site. That part was good, buses to all the parks were convenient and fairly fast. Room was just a room. Nothing special. Free Wi-Fi (hard to find this info). Food was pretty bad (5 breakfast + 1 dinner) - expensive too. Was hoping to have awesome beignets, gumbo, etc. but it was below average. Muffaleta was ham and salami on bread […] (and heated). Ugh. Booked through hotels.com to get nights rewards and Discover cashback but had a snafu on check-in (name was misspelled - looks like they manually transcribed things somewhere... weird). All-in-all, I probably would not stay on property again but I don't think I'd discourage someone from trying it at least once. BTW, the line for the boat to Downtown Disney gets super busy - plan ahead around dinner time and late night coming home. Lees meer

The hotel is in a pretty setting - the staff was friendly and easy to work with. Love the convenience of the airport shuttle check-in service. Could use another restaurant...perhaps one with sit down service. Rooms were a nice size. Would definitely go back.

Chose this because it was close to the start line of the marathon and I didn't want to hassle with traffic on race morning. Room was large, clean, and mattress was good. But overall it is just an overpriced Holiday Inn with less variety in dining, unless you have a car to get off-site.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Short bus ride to all parks with almost all direct. Felt safe letting kids go to food hall etc by themselves. Staff very helpful - especially when my 8 year old was sick. Made Disney experience magical for whole family. (Me, My mother, teenager and 8 year old)

The location and exterior of the hotel are beautiful. however, the rooms are small, the bathrooms smaller. Not at all what I expected from a Disney hotel. We travel to Disney often and try to stay in a differnet hotel each time... I was certainly not expecting the same experience as the luxury hotels... but seriously, the value resorts are nicer than […] this one. Very disappointed. Especially when I stepped in a large wet spot in the middle of the room... gross! I definitely do not recommend this part of Disney. Lees meer

Not enough people working the check-in desk. Traveled the week after Thanksgiving, so it wasn't very busy. Pool area very nice, and the hot tub was hot. They also allow kids in the hot tub, which is a plus for a Disney resort. If you want no-kid policies, my guess is you would not be at Disney in the first place. Loved the free riverboat rides to Orleans […] Riverside and Downtown Disney. Also, very nice to walk along the river. We spent most of our time at the Riverside resort next door. They had a nice playground for kids (with a bar for adults -- too bad the bartender was nowhere to be found). The arcade at the Riverside also had something to offer children of all ages. Rooms were clean and comfortable, though it was very hard to control the thermostat (the blower runs all the time) and the free internet advertised on Hotels.com was actually $10 per day. For cell phone users not on Verizon, be sure to bring a cell phone charger, as my phone lost its batter power very quickly looking for service. We think that Disney purposely blocks non-Verizon carriers from access inside the rooms. Lees meer

Very clean comfortable beds. Fridges in all rooms. Didn't seem overly busy as it is one of the smaller hotels. Like the relaxing feeling after a crazy day of rides. Pool always open, little park for the kids, and activities for the kids. kids loved the hotel. They often gave them beads or shiny coins when we started or ended our day! Don't get me wrong, I loved staying at French Quarter, but the size and layout of the rooms were exactly the same as the All-Star resorts (and the beds felt exactly as firm and unyielding too). The convenience of access to Downtown Disney by Boat was great as long as you give yourself enough time. Riverside sometimes fills the boat during peak periods ( Lunch, Dinner...etc ) leaving French Quarter residents waiting at the dock. Plan ahead but overall, a Wonderful Stay !

I loved the landscaping at this hotel so much that I would fly to Florida to stay there even if I didn't want to visit Disney World. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our stay in the french quarter. Concerierge was very kind and helpful. Food court decent. Loved the boat to downtown disney. Pool was great. Just a great place to stay.

We stayed at the French Quarter for a quick birthday celebration rather than using our time share right outside Disney. We couldn't have asked for a more trouble free experience. The room was very pretty and the staff took care of everything flawlessly. We loved having the boat to Downtown Disney and all of the shuttles to the parks were convenient […] and prompt. The only trouble we encountered was when we tried to book our own transport to SeaWorld for a day. The company we used did not show up, but I went to the concierge desk and told him what we needed (since we were literally sitting outside waiting to leave) and he told me to go back out and he would have someone there in 5 minutes. In less than 5 minutes, we had a car to SeaWorld, cheaper than the one we had arranged and the driver was fantastic. We had a great experience! Lees meer

I was very happy with the service of this hotel. Everyone on staff was friendly and ready to answer any questions asked. I would definitely stay at the Port Orleans French Quarter again.

The first day we checked in we had some wasps flying around our door and I called the front desk. They took care of the problem right away and assured me that safety was a priority. I really felt at home. The pools are very well maintained, the grounds are beautiful, and the staff was overly friendly. Everyday they made our beds and gave us fresh towels […] coffee while we were away at Disney. The bus picks you up in the parking lot eveyr 15 min or so and takes you to your disney destination (this was very easy and convenient). You can buy your park tickets, make dinner reservations, and get directions in the lobby of the hotel. Lees meer

We enjoyed our stay at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort in Disney. We requested rooms close to other family members and were able to get them.

This motel is OK for those not looking for much. The rooms are very small, but adequate. There is no full service restaurant on site but rather a food court style that's very busy during meal times. The pool area is nice. The front desk staff is not very helpful and, strangely for Disney, barely even smile. I wouldn't go back but if you're on a very […] tight budget and able to live in very close quarters it's probably not the worst choice. Lees meer

Check in was fast. We requested a room on the third floor after our first night, we were delighted that they could accommodate our request BUT we were even happier when they said we would have a river view. Upgraded at no cost. The grounds are lush and clean. And they have great beignets

Everything was really wonderful and it met our expectations and in fact exceed them. Comfortable beds, nice staff clean. This more than met our needs. Will return.

Our only true problem during this trip was in the beginning, and it was with the Disney Express, which is connected with the hotel, it's the free transportation to and from the airport. The buses are clean and comfortable, the driver very informative. In the pamphlet it states your bags could take 1 to 3 hours to be delivered to your room. Our plane […] was on time and we checked in before 8:30pm. After 3 and a half hours, I called down to see about our bags. The front desk was not much help and kept just saying "have a magical evening" when they could hear the frustration in my voice. The bell hop was even worse, extremely rude and condescending saying, "he didn't know where I read about the 1 to 3 hour window for bags, but they have up to 5 hours to deliever bags." Our plane was on time and our bags took 4 hours and 45 minutes to get to our room. Even upon check out when I spoke of our experience there just seemed to be this oh well, that's too bad response from the staff. My advice, don't attach the yellow tags Disney gives you and grab your bagswhen you land. Or have one small carry on with everyone's essentials in and yellow tag the remaining bags. I stayed in a room that was recently renovated and it was MUCH nicer than I expected for the price! The comforter was very lush and the bed was very comfortable. I called housekeeping because I forgot something and it was rushed to my room very quickly. I like that the food service and bar area stays open rather late. The only thing inconvenient is […] the bus system - if you are the last stop you often have to stand. And the Downtown Disney bus runs opposite of the other buses so I got off at the wrong stop and had to wait for another bus to come get me. Other than that, the resort is a must see! We stayed here 2 nights with our 2 and 4 year olds. The hotel is very nice for the price. Not "luxury" but you know that by the price. We may upgrade the next time we go to Disney, though we had no complaints about the hotel. We asked for more shampoo and coffee, and they actually gave us a big bag of each! I will stay at this hotel again, it makes you feel like you are in New Orleans.

overall we had a very good experience except we could not get in a good restarant for diner without reservation. we did not know it is so hard to get in and kids were hungry before we could find some adequate place to eat.

Everything is just as expected. It's a very clean room.However, it's too bad that bed and pillows are not comfortable. Transportation to Disney was just great too. very convenient, lugguage storage system is great, 24 hours a day.

Lovely hotel; pretty river; nice facilities. We totally enjoyed our stay. I was surprised that there were no in-room movies, but with a real movie theater so close by, that's no problem.

Was a little annoyed at the lack of info and concern by the people who worked at the check in desk.They just were not very accomodating

This was a great hotel for the value, easy access to Disney parks, Downtown Disney and other Hotels. They were very accomodating in getting our reservations moved from French Quarters to Riverside and extending our stay by one night however we had to check-out and re-check in to do this which was a lil bit of a hassel. Overall satisfied with our experience in terms of location, hotel services and employees, and food. However, the cleanliness of our room was far from Disney standards. We arrived to badly smeared and spattered mirrors, toothpaste speckled walls, doors and woodwork splattered with what looked like soda pop, dirty floors, and a nasty bathtub ring. We […] had to request bed rails for our granddaughter 3 times over several hours before they finally were delivered to the room. The hotel was what I expected from a Disney hotel and then some. The ability to catch a bus to any of the parks was great. The room may not have been especially fancy, but it was comfortable and we spent very little time in it anyway. I considered it a good value. The food court exceeded my expectations. The chef readily accommodated my need for a gluten […] and dairy free breakfast and I was able to enjoy custom-made gluten-free Mickey waffles. Actually, every where we ate at Disney World & Epcot my diet was not an issue. For someone who is gluten and dairy intolerant, Disney World is the place to go. Lees meer

Spent a wonderfull couple of days there. the pool area was very relaxing and location very convenient to all of the Disney areas. Would stay there again.

The hotel is big, so if you are traveling with small kids, ask the check-in to stay near the restaurant area. The housekeeping service was very good, the best I ever had! The taxi boat is amazing, a great experience provided by Disney`s resorts. Going to downtown Diseny in the boat is very pleasant. The food in the restaurant is limited, and the choices […] are not very good. For those that doesn't like spicy food, are even smaller! If you want you can visit other resorts and try their food too.
