Vagabond Inn Hotel Circle in San Diego

Leuk hotel in een typisch Amerikaanse motel stijl. De kamer zijn heel ruim en schoon. Er zijn 2 zwembaden, 1 verwarmd en 1 niet verwarmd. Het personeel is gastvrij en doet er alles aan om je een fijne vakantie te bezorgen.

very kind and friendly staff. took care of any problem right away and made my stay very cozy. will stay there again.

Easy access to Old Town San Diego, but during breakfast (which is in the lobby of the hotel) there is no place to sit you have to take the food back to your room if you want to eat sitting down. The fruit selection was poor and the fruit looked old. And when large familys came in the children had their hands all over the food. Ok, would not return

I stayed for one night . close to everything. inexpensive. nice continental brkfst. room was clean bed was average. worth the price for a place to sleep on a stopover.

Our room was very clean and had fairly good access to the places we were going. The breakfast provided in the morning didn't have much variety but was still good. Staff was very helpful with all our needs. Was surprised that the pool was heated so we were able to go swimming, which was very nice.

Overall nice stay for the price. Very nice customer service. Good location. Clean rooms. Fridge worked great. Other than noisy neighbors early in the morning, enjoyed our stay.

The Hotel accepts dogs, you may get a room that dogs have been in previously, this means the dogs do their thing on the carpets and beds. Get a room on the top floor. The city was working on the pipes down the street and when the pipes broke the hotel was flooded, and mud came into the parking lot all the way into the lobby;d where the the breakfast […] was located. The worst place I ever stayed. Not clean in the least sense of the wrod!! Dirty floor, shower, and walls. No hair dryer, and the refrigerator did not work. I did not feel safe in this place. To top it all of, the water main broke, and me and my companion, litterally had to tred water to get to our vehicle. A true vacation nightmare. It was soo, bad […] we had to end our vacation early. The overall services & facilities are 8.5/10. The breakfast is a great bonus!! Would definitely recommend others!!

We were very impressed with the staff and the location of the hotel. All sites we wanted to visit were within 5 to 10 minutes of the hotel. Although it was an older property, it was very well maintained and it was VERY clean and comfortable.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room smelled like mold. The lights were not working. When we asked for a new bulb so we could replace the bathroom light ourselves, it took over an hour. My daughter had to use the bathroom with the door open. The towels in the bathroom all looked like hand towels. So it was impossible for all of us […] take a shower without calling the front desk a few times for extra towels please. The two queen beds were actually full size. The sheets were very cheap and thin. Customer service at the front desk were very rude and not helpful at all. We should of stayed in a motel instead. My girlfriend and I have stayed at this hotel at least twice prior to this last visit, 3/1-3/6 , and have never had problems. First thing that went wrong when we first got there we did not like the location of our room nor was it the room I booked through hotels.com. We asked for 2 standard queens and got a single king. My gf went to the front desk […] to ask to be moved to our "usual" room, which shouldn't have been a problem seeing as how the place was nearly a ghost town, but the manager w/o skipping a beat just told her no, that they did not have vacancy w/o even glancing at the computer to check. Later that evening we realized he simply lied because as I said the place was nearly empty. After a day or 2 in this room with a faulty a/c/heater unit I called the front desk to once again get a room change. Then I get an earful from the manager, same manager that lied to my gf, claiming he was just getting ready to call me to tell me that I now owe the hotel a pet fee or charge or whatever they called it of $210 because he saw me "sneaking" my dogs out of the hotel room that day. Of course none of this is true. I was NOT "sneaking" my dogs out of a hotel room nor was I trying to be deceitful in anyway. I was in town visiting my dogs, who are currently living with my ex. Prior to all this I had called and spoke with a woman regarding the fact that I was going to be picking up my dogs and that we, my gf, the dogs and I, were going to be in and out of the room all day but they were not staying the night and would that be ok? The lady said yes that that's not a problem. Later the manager told me that she was NOT to have done that, that she knew better and should have put me in a pet friendly room which she did not. He made me give the hotel a $20 pet deposit for the one day he saw them there, instead of the $210, which he put on hold at the front desk until I had a chance to talk to the woman who okayed all of this. Good location good price

Hotel clerks very friendly and helpful. Room was decent and clean. No complaints.

The location is great, and the rooms are clean. My wife, who has sleeping issues at many hotels, was fine here. The breakfast is minimal (juice, cereal waffles, coffee) and must be eaten in your room or by the pool, but it served the purpose when we needed to be out early.

Hotel is OK for the price paid. Location - good (close to Old Train station and close to a rapid Bus to the city centre). However the staff is far from a level required.

Overall, my stay was pleasant. The bed wasn't something I would consider comfortable, but I may just be spoiled with my tempurpedic mattress at home. However, this hotel is definitely worth your dollar. The staff was extremely nice, the rooms are clean and mostly quiet.

I don't know how this hotel got an Excellent rating. It is clean and the staff was friendly, but the rooms are very small. No writing table. The bed(s) essentially fill the room. Bathroom was really tiny. Even though my room was at the back of the premises (per my request), the freeway noise was unrelenting.

The hot water wasn't. No place for breakfast. Too many other places in the circle better.

The Vagabond Inn is closer to a motel than a hotel but that's ok by me! The value was great, they have TWO pools, nice landscaping, clean rooms, free waffle breakfast in the morning, and (as we were pleasantly surprised to find out) each room has a fridge, microwave, and safe. They are centrally located to pretty much every San Diego attraction and […] right near the freeway for easy driving access. Expect a little noise because of the freeway but all of Hotel Circle borders Interstate 8 so you can't really escape it. I also LOVED their "clean remote" controls for their in-room televisions. They are the first hotel/motel I've seen provide them and I hope to see them more in the future. Basically it's a remote the is entirely smooth for easy cleaning/wiping off. Remotes are the dirtiest item in any hotel room so we thought this was a really cool idea. I am a native San Diegan who comes back to visit often and I would definitely stay here again. Lees meer

Met all my expectations and more! Close to downtown and great staff that were very helpful! Place to park, continental breakfast included, and economical.

Breakfast was a treat.. Saved us time and money on our trip.. the cleaning was great.. everyday our rooms looked and smelled wonderful. The front desk crew was very nice and helpful on what to do. Give it a try you will not be disappointed

I was traveling with my two children (a teen and 8 years) for a 4 day visit to San Diego. This facility was conveniently located within ~5 miles to most destinations and good restaurants. The first night (Sat) they were fully booked, so we were had a room overlooking the freeway, which was noisy and bright. Even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking […] room, it had the stench of smoke. When I asked for extra pillows, they could not accommodate us that night. If I had to rate this visit solely on the first night I would have given it a 1 or 2, especially because it was the most expensive night. The next day (Sunday) about 30 guests ended their stay, so management was able to move us to a quiet room in the back of the facility, and get us extra pillows. The room was better, but lacked a hairdryer and had an older TV. The microwave and refrigerator did not work at first, until I was able to move the dresser and reset the electrical plugs. The breakfast buffet had make-yourself waffles, juice, coffee and dry cereals, otherwise it was pretty basic. It was OK for no extra charge, but, we had breakfast at Denny's a couple of the mornings. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. They were able to recommend some sites, restaurants, provide directions and other information. The cleaning crew was helpful and accommodating as well. All in all it served its purpose, and was reasonably comfortable, but I wouldn’t pay any more than we did for the room. The room is clean and comfort, but don't have hair dryer. The neighborhood is very quiet, don't have much restaurant in walking distance. I woke up at 6 or 7 am due to the trash truck sound. They offer simple breakfast, which is a plus for me. Overall, it's a good place to stay.

Great rates and staff were friendly!

The bed was comfortable, and the little eat-in table was nice. Double check that you've turned on the refrigerator, as our left overs spoiled overnight. The shower is pretty disappointing unless you're five foot nothing. Nice and close to the zoo and beaches, and a corner market next store for drinks/snacks, which was nice since breakfast was a little […] lackluster unless you're REALLY into waffles. Don't freak out when menus slip into your door at random in the early evening. Also, they were nice enough to hold our reservation since we blew a tire at 9:30 pm and couldn't make it to San Diego on our compact spare. As I've said in the past, the Vagabond is a much better facility then others on Hotel Circle. I stood at two different hotels before I stayed at Vagabond Inn. You can't go wrong here. I guess they also allow pets. I have a pet at home. Next time I"m in San Diego with my critter I'll bring him with me.

The hotel is very helpful but has only one room for disabled guests. They do have breakfast available for all guests but no place to eat except for your room. It is very difficult to carry meals back to your room and not only keep them warm but also not spill it on the ground when on cruches.

I would recommend this place if you are just staying the night. Our room was really clean for it being a pet friendly room and smoking room. The only complaint I would have is there continental breakfast. Don't even waste your time. You get to make your own waffles but the majority of your waffle is left on the waffle grill! cold hard boiled eggs, cold […] & hot cereal, coffee, juice, apples & oranges. That's the continental breakfast. But the staff was very nice and the rooms were very comfy. cheap place to stay! Lees meer

Vagabond is the third hotel ive stayed on hotel circle in 5 weeks. Two weeks at other hotel three weeks at vagabond. There's your sign.

when arrival hotel I dissppoint about hotel service and facilitys 1. room is very dirty 2. some material brokened (bath system) 3. very noisy

Staff at the front desk and housekeeping were about as friendly as you could ask for. For me the place was perfect. Walking distance to a Sports Bar at the Mission Valley Inn with good "pub grub", then as you walk back to the Vagabond Inn, there is a diner w/ good and reasonably priced food, heading back to the Vagabond right next door to the diner […] is a liquor store...WHAT A PERFECT SETUP FOR ME LOGISTICALLY. We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in San Diego and chose Vagabond because of his location and rate. Any request we had was handled quickly. The staff was very friendly and so helpful when giving us directions to places we wanted to visit. They also have a sheet with directions for the popular sites. We would definitely stay there again.
