We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!
Ligging.
Hilton San Diego Mission Valley ligt heel handig vlak bij de luchthaven in het hartje van San Diego, dicht bij Mission Valley Mall, Marinerekrutendepot en Dierentuin van San Diego. In de ruime omgeving liggen ook Staatspark Old Town San Diego en Balboa Park.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Hilton San Diego Mission Valley heeft een buitenzwembad en een fitnesscentrum. In alle openbare ruimtes kan je tegen betaling de draadloze internetverbinding gebruiken. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 3,5-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes en een technische helpdesk. Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, zakelijke diensten en secretariële diensten regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een cadeaushop of kiosk, een wasserij en roomservice (beperkte uren). Parkeerruimte is tegen betaling beschikbaar, maar beperkt. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Hilton San Diego Mission Valley heeft 349 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een kluis en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Alle bedden hebben een pillowtop-matras. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van de draadloze internetverbinding op de kamer. Elke 37-inch flatscreen televisie heeft premiumkanalen via kabel/satelliet, een videogameconsole en betaalfilms. Elke kamer beschikt over een bureau, ergonomische stoelen en een telefoon met meerdere lijnen met voicemail. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een föhn en gratis toiletartikelen.
Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een gratis weekkrant en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals extra handdoeken/beddengoed en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. Op de kamers van Hilton San Diego Mission Valley mag niet worden gerookt.

"Very convenient and minutes from Downtown"
The rooms were clean, staff was pleasant and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
I enjoyed everything, except I don' t understand why there is a charge for parking. i found it inconvinient and that makes me doubt to return or even recommend it.

It was relaxing, perfect location to get around, specially when visiting UCSD, except for asking for directions at front desk and being sent in opposite direction and driving for 20 min. before turning around. The room was great considering it was a last minute decision. The Hotel was clean, very inviting, all of the staff very professional and considerate. Our only hesitation was the restaurant. "convenient hotel, pictures slightly misleading"
This hotel is nice but the pictures online made it look nice and newer than it actually is. It's a great idea to get breakfast in your room rate, it's a really good breakfast buffet and it's really cheap and it saves you a lot of money than going out for breakfast. This hotels in a nice location, good restaurants nearby and close to the freeways as […] well as Seaworld and other attractions. The only think was bad that I got charge of $ 40.00 for Vallet parking and they park it only One night I think with the amount we are paying For the rooms it should be free parking I wish someone Can get a good care of it Thank you
"SIMPLE AND CLEAN HOTEL"
I ENJOYED MY STAY AT THE HILTON. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS, THERE ARE NO MICROWAVE OR FRIDGE. IT COST ME $10 EACH FOR EVERY NIGHT. I BELIEVE EVERY HOTEL SHOULD PROVIDE A MICROWAVE AND FRIDGE. "Just don't forget anything"
Service was great/room was clean, I unfortunately left a brand new pair of shoes I had just got from Nordstroms in the room after I checked out, when I called the next day of course they couldn't find them but I guess that's my own fault but still would have been nice if they had put them aside.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, close to restraunts, shopping, and major attractions. The staff was friendly and professional. It is a family friendly hotel with a heated pool and spa. The breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start the day.

Carpet inside the room is like worst that street. Street roads are maintained very neetely than the Hilton hotel.very noicy. Walls are very thin.i don't recommend this when you go with family or kids.

The drain in my bath tub was very backed up. Since I only stayed one night I didn't bother notifying maintenance and didn't make a big deal about it. Other than that, everything else was great.

My hubby and I spontaneously visited SD on a date night. We made a same day reservation and chose Hilton where we have stayed before. Mall, theater, trendy eateries and coffee houses nearby. The hotel provided us free buffet breakfast with really attentive wait staff. Room was nice and comfy.

"Conference with a Bonus"
I stayed at this hotel to attend a weekend conference. The room was exceptionally clean, the front desk people very courteous and helpful. Two extra bonuses - the shopping in this area was great, and the rate I got from hotels.com was much better than my conference rate. "Hilton, the place to Halt"
What a pleasant reception we get when we arrive, especially from the guys incharge of valet parking! I don't want to bluff just for getting a good name from the hotel owners. At the same time, I don't do knit-picking. Nevertheless, I would like to bring some points for improvement resulting in win-win situation for both the clients and Hilton. Here […] we go! (1) Fridge should be provided in every room. We are in 21st century, the age of internet/laptop/tablet and not in the stone age, uh! (2) At least a couple of complimentary water bottles should be provided in every room. People can live without luxury, but not without water, uh! My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and spacious, we had a king bed. The only problem was the air conditioner to cool the room, it may have been broken. The service was all good from my check in to the restaurant. Parking is small and you get charged $16.00 daily. Went to Hotels.com for the first time to get a room near by where some friends from out of town were staying. Very proffesional site, easy to navigate and could not believe that I could book a room at the Hilton, for less than the Comfort Inn. Totally satisfied with those results and will recoommend others to use Hotels.com .

"Hilton San Diego Mission Valley"
The Hotel was great. So far the best hotel I've stayed in the Mission Valley area. The room was clean had plenty of Towels. The view from my room was good too. I had breakfast at the resturant and the staff was great. Great hotel will be back agian.

The location of the hotel, relative to points of interest, is EXCELLENT. It is right off the 8 freeway and between the 5 and 15 freeways. You can get to the mall, airport, downtown, Sea World, and other area attractions in 10 minutes or less. The rooms are clean, large, and well appointed. The staff was very nice and quickly attend to any needs or requests. […] If you have a car, there is a daily fee for self parking or valet service is available. The restaurant in the hotel is a great place to eat if you don't want to go too far. Side Note: The doors to the rooms were hard to close thus causing a loud thud to be heard every time an occupant entered or left the room. They most likely needed to be lubricated. Lees meer
We had to exchange rooms due to mildew smell. No ventaliation. Noisy neighbors. Limited comfort for what I was expecting. Small room, limited amenaties. Would not recommend.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone as it is too far away from anything, not worth the price I paid, and wasn't happy with my experience there...you can find a lot more at better hotels that charge a lot less...
"Perfect fit with the kids and us"
We were very satisfied that we were able to book adjacent rooms with connecting doors. Made our stay with the kids more comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the kids enjoyed the variety of foods. The rooms were super clean and comfortable with modern furniture and tv's. "Hilton SD Mission Valley -- Disappoints"
We booked this hotel on short notice for the President's Day, and the hotel was not close to full. So, I was surprised to get a room right across from the vending machine & the janitor's closet, facing the freeway (BTW, I'm a Hilton Honors member.) Noise, noise, noise. Next complaint: it was billed as a non-smoking hotel, but the elevator landing by […] the underground parking garage trapped the stale smell of cigarette smoke. :-( Lees meer
"Great location, great name but much to be desired."
I was set up in the 3rd floor, the room look like nice, clean but very out dated from the pictures I saw on hotels.com... I arrived with a backpack instead of luggage (big mistake) I guess as the team took me for some kid and felt treated as such. 1am and I could not get sleep after clomplaining of a pipe or slug hammer sound coming from the walls. […] I had tried to get some sleep to enjoy a day at Sea World the next day and possibly enjoy a night out.... Needles to say my sleep was not peaceful or pleasant. Last minute reservations made thru hotels.com gave us a better rate than calling the hotel direct. We get there, fast check in, excellent service. Later the hotel staff who overheard what we were celebrating sends birthday cookies, milk and ice cream thru room service! How can any hotel do better than that?
