The hotel is not that bad. But if you want internet go somewhere els. For 24 hour they want $18. The housekeeper on my floor was very lazy. Bad cleaning and forget essentials like toiletpaper and soap. When you want to ask him something you find him sleeping in another room.

Zeer fijn hotel en een aangename afwisseling met de drukte van de binnenstad. Het personeel is vriendelijk, het eten prima en ze hebben een heerlijk zwembad. Op loopafstand ligt de Spa Botanica voor de ultime spa-ervaring.

Dit hotel is vrij nieuw en ligt op 10 minuten lopen van een MRT station. Wij waren gevlucht uit een oud hotel in de binnenstad en vonden dit een verademing. Redelijk ruime kamers en een keurige badkamer voor een prijs die je in de het centrum voor een 2-sterrenhotel betaald. Ligt ook in een rustige wijk. Vervoer naar alle highlights van Singapore is geen probleem. MRT Orchard is slechts 2 haltes. Bovendien zijn taxi's in Singapore goedkoop en overal beschikbaar(als het niet regent)

Ligging.
Swissotel Merchant Court ligt in Singapore River in Singapore, dicht bij Clarke Quay, Boot Quay en Raffles City. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Raffles Place en Thian Hock Keng-tempel.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Swissotel Merchant Court jheeft een volledig uitgeruste spa, een healthclub en een buitenzwembad. In alle openbare ruimtes is draadloos internet beschikbaar (tegen betaling). Dit hotel met met 4 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel met een spa biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant, een koffietentje/café en een bar aan het zwembad. Het personeel kan op verzoek een huwelijksservice, evenementencatering en bedrijfsgerelateerde dienstverleningen regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een spabad, een fitnesscentrum en een stoomcabine. Parkeerruimte is gratis en beschikbaar, maar beperkt.Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Swissotel Merchant Court heeft 476 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een minibar en een kluisje op de kamer. Elke televisie heeft kanalen via de kabel en betaalfilms. Elke accommodatie beschikt over een bureau, een gratis krant en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn met voicemail. Elke kamer is voorzien van een snelle internetverbinding. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een handdouche, een weegschaal, kamerjassen en een haardroger. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een waterkoker/koffiezetapparaat en pantoffels. Daarnaast zijn op verzoek voorzieningen beschikbaar zoals een turndownservice en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. In Swissotel Merchant Court mag niet op de kamers worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

De door water omzoomde promenades staan vol helder gekleurde shophouses waar je al fresco kunt dineren, bars en clubs. Party tot in de kleine uurtjes op Clarke Quay of neem de boot om een rustig tochtje op de rivier te maken.

"Swissotel zeer centraal gelegen"
Hotel ligt zeer centraal, dicht bij een metrostation. Alles bezienswaardigheden en wijken zo prima bereikbaar. Dichtbij uitgaansgebied Quay met veel mogelijkheden. Prijs/kwaliteit is gewoon goed. Lekker is het zwembad met terras.
"Service"
Ben de eerste morgen na aankomst om 9.00 u gaan aankloppen aan de receptie met de mededeling dat de douche het niet deed (het water bleef in de badkuip lopen ondanks het indrukken van de knop van de douche) MAAR dat ook de sluiting van het bad het niet voldoende deed. het water liep er langs boven in maar langs onder uit. Het dweilen met de kraan open?? 's […] Avonds om 18.00 u wilde ik een douche nemen na een drukke en zeer warme dag. maar er was niets veranderd en dus terug naar de receptie. tegen de volgende morgen nog altijd geen reactie en mij dan maar gewassen met de mogelijkheden die er zijn. echt ongepast voor een dergelijk hotel. Dat ze een voorbeeld neman aan hun collega's in Bangkok waar ik 3 dagen later verbleef. Lees meer

Swissotel Merchant is very conveniently located right on Clarke Quay and MRT is a short walk away.Marina Bay Sands & Raffles Place are within walking distance along the river.Very nice hotel with pool,gym,cafe and giftshop and friendly staff.Only improvement would be free wifi with standard rooms.

The hotel is next to Clark Quay, a happening place all week, all night. But INTERNET is not free, which it should be in 2012. To most travellers it is as natural as electricity and lights. And the hotel has no fun stuff to offer; no games, not pool table or table tennis or games. Typically business clientel here...

"Good hotel in top location"
The hotel was clean & comfortable. It is in a fantastic location right on Clarke Quay & an easy 10min walk to Chinatown. It is also an easy walk to Raffels or the MRT station is right outside the hotel. After arriving in Singapore off a flight we were checked into the room at 8.30am! This was fantastic. Overall no complaints at all.

"Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore excellent"
The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The hotel was very nice. It was a pity that wi-fi was rather expensive. One could walk out the front door into the interesting and varied Clarke Quay area. Taxis were frequent and inexpensive.

Excellent location for staying near Clarke quay, with MRT station only meters away. Hotel room was excellent, being large and very clean. Breakfast is expensive but is not necessary with many cheap options nearby. Wifi is also expensive. Will stay again

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day stay in this lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help with any problems or information needed. The spa and pool facilities were excellent. We opted for buffet breakfast adn thoroughly enjoyed the variety and quality of the food and service. "Good Hotel, good rooms but coming off age."
We had booked Swissotel for our Honeymoon. The service was really good and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the MRT Clarke Quay station. We were given a room with balcony facing the river. The view was beautiful. A lightly sore point is that the rooms have started ageing slightly but that visible only if […] you have a very close look. Otherwise the decor is really nice. First of all hotel is well located. MTR station next door to access all Singapore. China town within walking distance (10min) and restaurants & night life (Clarke Quay) basicly when stepping out of the hotel doors. Night life there night disturb some but we didn't find it disturbing evin thought our room was facing bridge to Clarke Quay. Our room was […] nice and clean with small balcany. Close to Clarke Quay and a Metro Rapid Transit Station. Well kept up and good service. Room was very nice. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights. It is a fairly ok hotel, but the rooms need refurbishing, especially the bathrooms. The pool area is nice, and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Service is friendly.

The Reception staff was not very courteous, when they found that I had a pre-paid booking through hotels.com They were not ready to provide me better view rooms on a higher floor, although they were not full. No FREE WIFI, which is surprising in this Cyber world and when Singapore Airport offers FREE WIFI. Not a very friendly and welcoming place.

We stayed at the hotel in Dec 2011. Excellent location right next to the MRT and Singapore river (Clark Quay). Many restaurants along the banks of the Singapore river. It doesn't feel as if you are staying in a city. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and can highly recommend this hotel.
"Too expensive for too little comforts"
The only thing good about this hotel is location! The rest is a mediocre hotel which boasts the Swiss hospitality to no evidence. As start, the AC in our room was not functioning well, and the repair took over an hour in the middle of the night! They did offer to change the room, but my mother was asleep and to move our stuff in the middle of the night […] would be a hustle. The SPA does not employe enough people. We were staying for 3 days and no single occassion any therapist was available. We ordered the kimono which did not come to our room until I complaint several times. Then, the kimono purchase was not included in our hotel bill. We were nice enough to remind them. One of the waitress was rude enough not to let us use the connecting door to reach Clark Quay, thanks God there were other nice waitresses who showed us the shortest way to get out. "not that good"
The glory days for this hotel has passed. It did not live up to my expectations of a swissotel especially when it comes to maintenance and cleaning, but maybe my expecttions were too high. Location is great however.

"Merchant Court in Singapore - right in the middle"
Close to evening party areas as well as Chinatown and little india, with great service and facilities.

The location of hotel is good. Within 3mins walk to the nearest station and in front of Clarke Quay. The room is clean and the bathroom is comfort. The only annoying product is the room card. Quite often is doesn't work. You need to try and try patiently. Overall it is still a great hotel with a reasonable price. Recommended.

"Good spot, all rooms not with a view"
The hotel was comfy but room in 4th floor had no view of the city but the wall of opposite building. Not worth of money spent. Pool was nice, as well as the breakfast.

"God hotel in good location"
I found the hotel quite expensive, but the room was a good size, comfy bed and large bathroom - also clean. What was excellent was the location as it was just next to the train station and also just over the road from all the bars and restaurants. We got the train from the airport which was cheap, then used this to get around the city. Everything was […] a short train ride away form the hotel so was perfect for the 2 days we were in Singapore. We didnt really use the hotel facilities nad chose to eat breakfast out so I cant comment on that, but whilst checking in/out, staff were very polite and helpful. Lees meer

"Excellent Location in the Heart of Clarke Quay"
Situated in the heart of Clarke Quay it is within easy walking distance to many and varied restaurants and shopping. Less then $9.00 taxi ride to Little India, Orchard Rd, Singapore Flyer, Chinatown, Marina Bay. Room had a balcony and was very clean and comfortable. We finished our cruise in Singapore. Only $40 SD from the cruise terminal for four of us by taxi. Close to Chinatown and located next to Clarke Quay on the Singapore river. Vibrant eating and walking area after dark. The Hotel was excellent. Service outstanding. Loved it.

My hubby and I stayed there for the first time. I must say it's a rustic hotel but elegant. The location is really very ideal for couples our age and with grown kids. It's accessible to all types of transportation. I love the view of Clarke Quay and the river. The staff are really nice and accommodating. Grand, luxurious with style and comfort; staff were overwhelmingly helpful and eager to please. Facilities were second to none, with the availabilty of a gymnasium, pool spa & sauna.
