Sorrento Hotel in Seattle

Enter Sorrento and go back in time. The hotel still has its late early 1920-ies style. It's like stepping back into a timemachine. Even the elevator is as slow as it was a hundred years ago. Just go with that slow flow and you will love it. Well, at least I did.

The staff were excellent. I needed a ride to City Hall for business and the hotel provided a complimentary service to take me there in the morning and picked me up promptly when I called in the afternoon. This was great because the hotel is on a hill and any walking to the downtown area is best done in good walking shoes...or the complimentary car. […] They were extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel itself was tremendous, however either the staff chose to ignore or the message was not passed forward from Hotels.com. This was a 2nd honeymoon and any gesture would have been gratefully accepted. as it was, we were placed in what must have been the noisiest room ever - close to elevator! Not happy

Beautiful boutique style hotel built in 1908. Lovely furnishings and old world charm with all the modern amenities you would want. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and the staff were so kind. Even gave us a bottle of wine and some chocolates. We will definitely be back.

I had a conference at the convention center. Even though the hotel is only a few blocks from the convention center, the hotel is way up a hill so it wasn't as convenient as I would have liked. Otherwise, the hotel was completely fine.

Great, older hotel, wonderful rooms that are so nice with great beds and bedding. We were very pleased and would stay again. Staff is exceptional.

Service at the front desk, at the Hunt Club, from house keeping, and from concierges was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We have stayed at the Sorrento previously, and likely will again. This old hotel, refitted with modern amenities, is up some steep hills, but it is close to downtown, close to fine Frye Art Museum and beautiful Catholic cathedral, […] and there is a hotel town car to help out to and from downtown. And cab fare back up the hills is not expensive. We'll probably be staying at the Sorrento again when in Seattle. Lees meer

The staff was great, everything from the initial greeting to any service provided during out stay was fantastic. The courtesy car service was very convenient to get get quick access to the downtown area. We intend on staying here again in the future. The only hiccup was dirty water from the bar sink faucet, not good.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was the location (which we knew about prior to the stay). The staff was excellent and helpful and the room accommodations for our pet were much welcomed and appreciated. Thanks Sorrento!

We decided last minute to stay at the Sorrento, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. They even provided toothbrushes and shaving essentials. Music in the bar was relaxing, and we will return again.

I came it to the hotel for a training. I was greeted with a warm smile from Lisa the receptionist. The whole hotel was amazing, people friendly and alwas willing to help. I would stay there again on my next visit to seattle.

Nice, old hotel with lots of charm. Great service. Had live jazz downstairs and we got to enjoy that with drinks, and over dinner. A little far from Pike Place but all the better to walk off the meals.

I had to accompany my elderly mother to out of state visit that required overnight stay. Naturally, I wanted to make my mom as comfortable as possible and from the information I reviewed, Sorrento looked like the place that offered comfort my mom deserved. So I thought... We stayed on the third floor. Overall, the rooms looked comfortable albeit dated […] with noticeable wall and paint patches. The room was very warm. We never found thermostat (if there was one). About 30 year old AC unit mounted through the wall had to cool the room down. And the fan was quite noisy. My room faced the alley side of the hotel. I had the view of the rooftop parking garage. When it got dark my room would be randomly illuminated by car headlights as they entered or exited the garage. Fine… I got up and realized that the thin see-through curtains where all that there was to keep the lights out. No second layer of heavy curtains to pull. At 2 AM, I was wakened up by hearing screams and cussing coming up from the alley. The paper thin and old windows offered very little insulation from the outside noise a group of misplaced individuals made. What followed was the worst though... At 3 AM, just as I managed to fall asleep, a piercing sound of hundreds of glass bottles being trashed ripped through my room. It seemed as if it would never end. This continued on intermittent basis until 7 AM. Turns out, that the alley is lined with large trash containers standing directly under all of the guest windows! Lees meer

Cozy, romantic and beautiful old hotel, well maintained. There was a lot of dirt under the bed and under the dresser (had to pick up a dropped pen). The in room air conditioning unit was broken - fortunately the nights were cool and we could open the window. The dining room is excellent. It is great to have free WiFi. We did not really enjoy our stay at the Sorrento and would not recommend it. The room had a peculiar odor in it that we asked about on 2 days and the odor was not eliminated nor were we offered a different suite. There was only one nightstand by the bed (and this was a suite!). The shower went from freezing to scalding with no warning several times […] during the course of the shower. The hotel is located very close to the hospital so sirens disturbed our sleep repeatedly thru the night. The staff was very friendly. The courtesy car was made available for our use and was very handy to have. The hotel is very charming but I do not plan to stay again nor will I recommend it. The extra we paid for the suite was wasted money in my opinion. Lees meer

The employees greeted us by name each day, were always available. The hotel was beautifully restored and the rooms were comfortable, understated luxury, and the food and drinks were delicious.

The hotel was lovely, but the room was VERY stuffy and hot. We turned the air all the way to cold and high, but to no avail. We had to open the window and were both still very warm. The staff at the front desk and bar were polite, but a little stuffy as well. Wonderful customer service from every employee we encountered. Welcoming, attentive, friendly staff. Charming and comfortable room. We especially enjoyed the entertaining chamber music performance in the relaxing and comfortable fireside lounge -- complimentary wine was a nice bonus!

The beds are wonderful, the staff is great, they also provide a car service within a 2 mile radius of the hotel and pick ups can be arranged.

My wife and I spent 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff were very helpful and addressed our queries and offered assistance without pushing themselves on us. Great relaxing atmosphere and great food.

We spent the last night of our 8 day Seattle/Victoria vacation at the Sorento. From the moment we saw the charming, old hotel, we all fell in love with it. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend there. The location was at the top of the hills of Seattle, so traveling to the water front was a fine walk going down, but required transportation […] going back....unless you're a mountain goat. The Sorrento Hotel is oozing with charm and well located in downtown Seattle. The building and its rooms are gorgeous. I would highly recommend staying in one of their suites. We will definitely go back!

Things we were disappointed in: 1. No room service after 11 PM on a Friday night. 2. No food available in the hotel, except Pizza, after 11 PM on a Friday evening. 3. Expensive overnight parking - over $40.00 per night including added tax. 4. No access to ice. Ice was only available through room service, which had limited hours . 5. Being told that […] we would be picked-up by the hotel following a play we attended (after dropping us off at the play earlier in the evening). When we called the hotel to pick us up immediately following the play, they told us we were past the time they perform pick-ups, so we unexpectedly had to take a cab back to the hotel. 6.
