Het hotel ligt een paar kilometer vanaf het centrum van Holland (MI) maar is makkelijk te bereiken per auto. Voor een enkele overnachting op doorreis was dit een geschikt hotel, personeel is vriendelijk, de kamer is netjes en er wordt een simpel ontbijt aangeboden in de ochtend.
Ligging.
Amway Grand Plaza ligt handig vlak bij de luchthaven, in het hartje van Grand Rapids, op loopafstand van DeVos Performance Hall, Kunstmuseum van Grand Rapids en Openbaar museum van Grand Rapids. Andere bezienswaardigheden in de buurt van dit hotel met een groen/duurzaam beleid zijn Gerald R. Ford Museum en Kindermuseum van Grand Rapids.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Amway Grand Plaza heeft een volledig uitgeruste spa, 2 spabaden, een onoverdekte tennisbaan en een healthclub. In openbare ruimtes is een gratis snelle internetverbinding (draadloos en via kabel) beschikbaar. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 4-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel voor zaken heeft een restaurant, een koffiebar/café en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een huwelijksservice regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een binnenzwembad, een spa en een fitnesscentrum. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling parkeren. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Amway Grand Plaza heeft 682 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een kluis en een gratis krant. Alle bedden hebben een pillowtop-matras met premium beddengoed. Gasten hebben gratis (draadloos) breedband internet op de kamer. Elke 42-inch plasmatelevisie heeft kanalen via de kabel en gratis filmkanalen. Elke kamer beschikt over een bureau en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn met voicemail. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie, make-up/scheerspiegels, een föhn en gratis toiletartikelen.
Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals een koelkast, massagebehandelingen op de kamer en hypoallergeen beddengoed. Een turndownservice wordt elke avond aangeboden terwijl een huishoudservice dagelijks beschikbaar is. Op de kamers van Amway Grand Plaza mag niet worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.

"Wonderful staff service"
The rooms were great except for the showers(small and not much pressure).The best thing was the kindness and friendliness of the staff - especially the young women in the concierge lounge and the front desk. We had a very special stay. Thank you very much!

"Love this property...needs a renovation..."
Our room was a "7" on a scale to 10...however "un-exceptable was that our lovely room smelle like cigaretts...from the moment we walked in...stale and old smelling...not like someone just smoked but like it had been a room that use to allow smolking...thank you!
"Upscale luxury in the heart of Grand Rapids"
My wife and I stayed at the Amway Grand Plaza as part of a weekend getaway. The hotel is nicely appointed and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. In many ways the Amway Grand reminds us of the Drake Hotel in Chicago, with its classic luxury and responsive staff.

"Iz all good"
The room The Spa and Salon The Exercise facilities (even racquetball) The Shops Dining facilities Gerald Ford Museum, just across the river on a pedestrian bridge. A squeaky clean downtown It all couldn't have been better.

I wasn't very impressed with the service when I tried to buy some bottled water for my room (the city water is terrible in Grand Rapids!!!!). The vending machine on my floor was out of water so I called the front desk to see if I could have room service bring some up. I was told to find another vending machine. So I wandered around on the next floor […] down and couldn't find the vending machine. I finally went down to the front desk and asked where I could buy some water. "Amway Grand Plaza - Wow!"
My recent stay at the Amway Grand Plaza was fantastic. The service was great, the room attendants were very well mannered as were the room service staff. Very professional throughout. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Excellent Stay"
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was all very friendly and there is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel. The skywalk is nice as well. It is pricey but totally worth it. There was a wedding and a high school dance the weekend we were there but it wasn't loud and there were no problems. Would definitely like to stay there again.
Room is extremely noisy. You can hear everything in the hallway and outside. No warning of a turn down service within hours of checking in. This was my first time staying at this hotel and will not return.

"Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Mi"
Upon registering we were asked if we wanted a classic traditional room or modern one. We appreciate both styles and left it up to our concierge. We walked into our room to find that we had a beautiful view of the river and had arrived just in time to see a beautiful sunset. We walked the Skywalk to dinner at Charley's Crab where we were surprised to […] discover that our reservations were at the VIP table because we were staying at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Overall the stay was very pleasent. We booked reservations through the hotel at Charlies Crab and the hotel and restaruant worked together to make our evening very pleasent. The weekend we stayed was very busy for Grand Rapids so we waited awhile to get our car and the room was very dry and the AC did not work so well. This trip occurred at ArtPrise time, one of the best art exhibitions ever. The hotel was first class in every way - clean, friendly staff, very good bedding!

Perfect location but the bathroom was out of date. The room was comfortable and the view was fantastic. My only complaint was that the bathroom didn't have a fan and looked like it did when they built the place back in the day.

What a beautiful hotel! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in the Towers, which I recommend, and had 2 window views of the river and the beautiful skyline. We never heard a sound from our neighbors and my son loved the pool and the basketball court.It was a little more in price than what we wanted to pay, but soooo worth it […] ! Lees meer

The noise level was unbelievable. The snorer in the next room might as well have been in my room with me it was so easy to hear. Also, I was on the 19th floor, and the road noise from the street below sounded like I was on the first floor. I am not a person who is sensitive to noise either. "the Amway (not-so) Grand in Grand Rapids, MI"
Although the service was very helpful and friendly and our room was clean, we had serious plumbing problems. Hot water came out of the cold water tap and the water pressure was variable. On our last morning, we couldn't flush to toilet or take a shower because of poor water pressure. The food in the restaurant was not terrible, but it certainly was […] bland and not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Also, be prepared for the restaurants in the hotel, the shops, and the pool to all shut down very early at night. Some of the bars/restaurants were never open during our stay and/or had very abbreviated hours. On Sunday, the pool closed at 9 pm. The location is good--close to anything downtown. "Amway Grand Hotel"
This hotel is beautiful. Staff is very attentive and check in a breeze. The bathroom only had a shower no tub. Could be updated. Tight quarters in the bathroom. Gorgeous view of the river. The ambiance was wonderful. Could of had a better wine list in the restaurant. Food was excellent.

Great hotel with an excellent staff. Only problem we had was with the hotel reservations which were not communicated correctly from hotel.com to the Amway Grand. The Amway Grand had to call hotel.com to confirm that we had two rooms reserved. Problem was handled over the phone.

The hotel is beautiful and elegant. The service everything it should be. I just had 2 complaints: The bed was not comforable. My husband and I kept rolling into the middle. The pillows were lumpy and not comfortable. Neither of us slept well. Also, I love having coffe/tea in my room, even if there is a coffee shop in the hotel. "Amway Grand truly is GRAND"
Just wanted an evening away from home with the entire family. Wanted to treat ourselves to a nice day away from gray and dreary SW Michigan and decided a night at the Amway Grand would lift our spirits. It did just that! We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time in Grand Rapids. Residents, you are truly blessed - what a lovely city you have! Visited […] Frederik Meijer Gardens and was blown away by the butterfly exhibit. Went to the IMAX theater and then some shopping before dinner. Following that we checked in to Amway Grand for some fun in the pool with the kids - it was just divine! Staff was extremely helpful and cordial and the next morning I hit the exercise room for a lovely run on the treadmill that overlooked the pool so I could keep an eye on the kids. "amway right on the riverfront"
this was the best hotel stay i have ever had even better than a four star hotel in Chicago. The staff were very friendly .Rooms were clean .The Hotel is service orientated. It is all about customer service. I would definately go back . and highly recommend the concierge level.
