Homewood Suites Kansas City Airport in Kansas City

We had a great little getaway down to zona rosa shopping and our little studio/ apartment with kitchen and living room was sweet price was very reasonable great time.

A big group of us stayed at this hotel because it was super close to the airport as well as the location we were celebrating the New Year. The hotel staff were amazing and super accommodating. Being New Year's Eve we were going to take a cab to our party destination, but the receptionist arranged for the shuttle service to drop off our group instead. […] Saved us all the cab fare and we all arrived at the same time instead of shifts :) Also, the rooms were super clean and actually nicer than we expected for the price. This was a New Year's getaway with my wife, and we were staying in, so wanted a suite where we could fix a little dinner and lounge around on the sofa. Frankly, this was nicer than we expected for the money. It is a Hilton property, and it shows. Full-size fridge, nice kitchenette and table, comfy sofa and chair with HDTV. Nice separate bathroom, and […] spacious bedroom with comfy king bed. (Plenty of extra pillows and blankets). Was quiet, and the staff was wonderful. Complimentary breakfast is basically an upgraded continental; bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, and waffles added. Not out of this world, but well done, AND since it is included, added even more value. My family loves this hotel. We always plan on staying there while in Kansas City. It is a suite style room. Living room, kitchen, separate bedroom. Large flat screen TV in bedroom and a large flat screen TV in the living room. The free breakfast is wonderful, much more than your ordinary hotel breakfast. Our overall experience at this hotel was good but our first interaction when checking in was something to be desired. The front desk clerk made it very clear that he did not like third party reservations like here on hotel.com and that the hotel.com did not inform us correctly of a deposit that they charge of $50 and that they would hold this depost […] for up to one week after we checked out. So if you book a room at this hotel be aware that they will require a $50 deposit upon checking in and it will take up to a week to get your money back and be prepared to hear a lecture about using services like hotel.com when booking a hotel. We personally have booked all of our hotel reservations through hotel.com and we have been very happy with the services and the prices hotel.com is able to give us when we travel. Lees meer

The only problem was there were kids running up and down the hallway. Secondly the sunday morning breakfast was great except they could have used 1 more person helping as it took too long to refill the food and juice.

I'm tired of poorly run hotels with out of order swimming pools. This pool was mostly drained & had green mold growing in the bottom. I drove 500 miles for a wedding & planned to take a dip to loosen up before the wedding. Avoid this place. Also the breakfast TV had limited channels. Who wants to watch only MSNBC for news! We traveled to Kansas City for our son's wedding, and the hotel was very accommodating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They seemed to be genuinely interested in the wedding and asked about the event several times as we interacted with the housekeeping and other staff. I love Homewood Suites! They are always so nice to stay at, and this one did not disappoint! I enjoy having a kitchenette when traveling with my children - it comes in quite handy. This one in particular actually offered a small grocery list, free of charge! How nice to have my groceries delivered at no charge! The rooms at Homewood are always so nice. […] I always love the fact that they always serve a nice breakfast, and you can typically find a "Welcome Home" meal (light dinner) during the week days as well. Stayed at the 2 double suite - it had a bedroom with 2 double beds and a separate living area w/ a pull-out couch. The room is NICE. Big comfy beds, pillows, and a relatively well stocked kitchen(ette?). It comfortably fit my group of 6 travelers. Everything was taken care of through Hotels.com, so check in was super breezy. I can't comment on the […] service because our stay was for only 1 short night. The full complimentary breakfast was awesome. Had a girlfriends weekend there. The hotel was very nice and the staff very nice as well. I would stay here again, very good value for the money

This hotel was chosen for our first night in town, near to the airport so family could gather and prepare for a reunion the next day. Others in the family picked Homewood Suites 2 bedroom suite for their party of 5, the best deal for them. I went along, although my party of 2 would have been fine in a conventional room. I had no prior experience staying […] in a Homewood Suites hotel. We were surprised and pleased by the value for the money! For about $25 more per night than "bargain" hotels, we received far more in comfort and convenience. True rest was enhanced by the 5 pillows on each bed, and the mattress comfort was very adequate. We went next door to the Embassy Suites for takeout food, although we could have ordered room service. We used the dishes and silverware, then washed them after. We felt so at home and able to be out of each other's way with the extra living area. We arrived 1 1/2 hours before check in time, but were given our room right away. Once or twice the desk attendant had to be summoned from elsewhere, but I assume that staffing may be light in these times. The staff was responsive and helpful. I recommend booking early, as all we had available was a smoking room. Neither of us is sensitive to smoke, and the smell was not overpowering. I did not ask them to spray odor abatement in the room, but I am sure they would have if I had asked. We enjoyed the breakfast bar with sausage and eggs. In other hotels we have been forced to go elsewhere to eat, due to the availability of mostly muffins, cereal and toast. Paying for breakfast removes some of the savings in a bargain hotel. Other reviewers have commented that they found the AC unit to be loud. This is true. We avoided using blankets and turned the thermostat to a warmer temp. to avoid the unit going on and off more frequently. The rest of our hotel nights were in hotels that charged less. They were adequate, but I will definitely work on planning ahead in future, looking for the best deals to get r Lees meer

It was a little pricier that I like, but since it was last minute, that was my fault. The hotel was very nice, as were the staff.

If you're traveling with the family and looking for something close to an at home feeling, this is the place. Excellent hotel for the money!!! It was a little out of our way, but would strongly consider again, even if 20 miles off the beating path.
