Crowne Plaza Tennis & Golf Resort Asheville in Asheville

This hotel feels old and dated. All of the electrical outlets in the room were either lose or cracked. I was unable to recharge my cell phone. I wasn't sure the elevator would make it up to my floor. The whole hotel looked like it had not been updated in decades. I opted for the Crowne Plaza because it had a higher star rating and the photos on the […] website looked nicer. The Hotel Rating metric does not allow for a complete rating of various concerns. First we reserved a King size bed, received twin queens. Second we decided to stay in and celebrate our 41st anniversary in the dining room, to say the meal was tasteless would be an understatement. Service was above average. Third we opted to purchase "discount" tickets […] as listed on Biltmore web site at area hotels and paid $20 more than listed. All in all this was not an enjoyable stay. Would not recommend. Hotel was okay and very conveniently located , but no towels at all for the pool and always out of coffee in the lobby.

Remote TV control was terrible. could not control volume or station. Shower had poor water pressure, and barely trickled. Room was very noisy from surrounding activity.

The staff at checkin was very disorganized. After checking in I asked would the resataurant and bar be open later that evening. They replied yes but it was not open later. When I told them this on check out they did give a complimentary breakfast to compensate us. The room was really comfortable and clean.

If uncomfortable and noisy is what you're looking for, look no further, this hotel will rise to that occassion. My chilren and I stayed here for one night after a day at the Biltmore. The grounds photograph well, but fail to impress in person. The beds were has hard as plywood and hallway noise continued throughout the night into the early morning. […] I would have rather paid a little extra money to be closer to the Biltmore, in a safer neighborhood, with more comfortable rooms. i stayed at your resort i found the service to be ok i asked for early check in.. waited almost hour and half... bar service was excellent.... room was fine.. noise level at hotel was awful.... several parties till very late in the morning.. upon check out desk clerk offerd 5000 points to club card.. the service van was in awful shape brakes scrubbed […] and van shook very dangerous to ride in............ we didnt feel safe at all ....... The hotel is not easy to find. The TV remote was not easy to use and seemed like it needed new batteries. The front desk was very hard to reach late at night. We tried to get meals from room service around 10 but could not, despite the hotel advertisements stating room service is available until 11. The front desk failed to inform customers about this. […] The brunch was decent, although the meal portions served when not running on a buffett service were small. The wait staff was very good. Hotel is right in the heart of Asheville. About 5 minute drive from the downtown restaurants and shops. Staff was super friendly and recommended an amazing local restaurant (Tupelo's Honey Cafe)...which by the way, serve their drinks with moonshine...AMAZING! We visit Asheville several times a year and this time decided to stay overnight. We took our 2 children (22 mos. and 6 year-old) along. We "thought" we reserved a suite but ended up in a two-bed room. It was extremely noisy: People walking by, slamming doors, etc. At one point during the night, hotel security came to the room a few doors down. My 6 […] year-old was looking forward to the indoor pool. We had to drive to it as it was down the hill from the hotel. Not at all convenient when traveling w/ children. Overall, we were disappointed and will not recommend this hotel. Lees meer

No complaints, needed a place to stick my head for the night and all went well. Comfy bed(s), nice location, friendly staff. Too bad my reservation was a mistake and we got two small beds instead of one large bed. Oh well.

Loved the hotel. It's cleanliness and quality made a lovely stay. The signage to find the address was more than enough. I will definitely recommend it and try to stay there again.

The hotel was in a good location and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast there two mornings and it was very good. We had a king size room with a small balcony overlooking a wooded area which was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were many tennis courts and several pools which were all well maintained. We did not […] use the golf course, but it seemed to be in good condition. I thought the hotel and staff were courteous and professional. Good location. Parts of hotel are a little musky from age but the overall appeal is nice and I could overlook that.

A bit difficult to find and access but well worth the effort. Once familiar with the area, it is very convenient. Wonderful facilities, people helpful and friendly. Comfortable room, great facilities with golf, tennis, exercise facilities, and near other activities. Will definitely stay there next visit to Asheville.

At the price we paid a night, I expected more. This was over double the rate of a Hampton. It reminded me of a dressed up Super 8, or my dorm room from college. Nice furnishings, but in an old concrete building with broken doors, and old carpet. The AC did work however, but we didn't want to keep the sliding glass window open because the parking lot […] was 6ft away. Not very romantic. We had plans on eating in the restaurant, but after checking in to the room we decided to go out. So the food might be great. Who knows. Hotel staff was courteous, and polite, but slow and understaffed. I would have rather spent this money to stay in a Hampton or Holiday Inn Express. And next time, I'm bringing my own lightbulbs. Hallways were filled with dirty plates, to go boxes and silverware upon arrival. A to-go box, (not ours) was left sitting outside of our room the entire stay. This hotel is old, and not in the best condition. Definitely not worth the price as you can find a bed & breakfast downtown with a better atmosphere and better accomodations for the same rat […] e. I cannot say much about the CP Asheville as we stayed only one night but I was disappointed. For the money, I was expecting a higher-quality hotel experience but here is what I experienced. -a front desk staffed by only one person who had to answer phones and check in guests simultaneously mind you,this was during a busy Bell Share no weekend-we saw […] other hotel employees in the office doing very little while this poor person did everything -had to schlep our bags up two flights of stairs with no bellhop or elevator -upon asking for a one hour late check in which is advertised in the amenities book in the room, we were told, "You have 'til 12 noon but NO LATER!" very rudely and brusquely -no water bottles in the room fridge or at the desk; it was hot out and we were parched (is the CP that hard up?! All in all, I have had much better experiences staying at the Hampton Inn and paid much less. Next time I am in Asheville, I will give the Hampton my business. At least they have elevators. Hotel was okay. Room services took forever and then brought the wrong food. The free wireless internet connection was so weak that you had to sit in the hall to actually get a connection. Not what I expected given the 3.5 star rating.

Clean room. Bathroom and shower was nice. The sink held water, but there is no fan, so the steam and occasional stink was challenging on our family of four. Only 3 towels given for the 4 of us but the maid closet was accessible. Internet was good. Breakfast was excellent.

The hotel shows a bit of age, but the rooms were clean and updated. The breakfast buffet was excellent. One great service was the roundtrip transport wherever you wanted to go (Biltmore, mall, dinner, etc.) for a small fee. I would definitely return.

Not a bad place to stay for a night. The room we stayed in was clean and roomy. The place seems to be geared for golfers and tennis players. There is a golf shop, golf course, numerous tennis courts (indoor courts as well), and several swimming pools. We never got to use any of it because of the weather, but if you're into golfing and tennis, definitely […] consider this place. From the drive-by, the tennis courts look great. Access to this place can be a bit tedious to get to as it sits on a one-way street. You will have to do some circles to get here. Otherwise, it's tucked away in a nice and quiet place. Lees meer

OK for an overnight, but we were look looking for an extended stay plush motel. This motel did not quite make the grade. The room was still somewhat out-of-date, although some renovations have been recently completed. For example: door card keys did not work to all exterior doors, room heater sounded like a jumbo coffee grinder, rugs showed significant […] unevenness and age, back corridors, room light fixtures archaic and under powered. and breakfast dinning room and corridors were cold in the morning. On the plus side: good beds and plenty of hot water, and a great workout pool, tennis complex. Lees meer

I stayed at the hotel with my grandson and mother. The staff was exceptional when assisting my elderly mother with any of her needs. From the dining in experience to using the facilities, each experience was exceptional.

The hotel was very clean and the location was excellent. We could get from Downtown, back to the hotel in 5 minutes. Only complaint is the bar at the hotel charged $34 for 4 drinks!! BYOB next time!! Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Will def recommend this hotel to others.

We will be returning! The room, resort, bar, and location was perfect for us. It was clean, quiet, and close to downtown. The only issue is I wish they had a shuttle that ran until 2a instead of 9p!

We have been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed! Love the bar late in the evening, love the workout facilities can't wait unitl it is expanded even further! Love the convenience to getting into town, to the Biltmore, and Grove Park. Will be back in a few months!

Hotel is not as nice as it purports to be. A bit run down with heavy investment in the allied facilities but not in the rooms and main building. It's sufficiently old that a new layer of paint is no longer sufficient.

This hotel has many appealing amenities (golf, tennis, spa, pool etc.) but we were only there for one night and had no time to enjoy these. The hotel is also undergoing renovations so perhaps things will be even better if we need to visit again. The room is standard and clean but if you're on the first floor like us then privacy is a bit of an issue. […] There are only sheer drapes on the patio doors and the heavier room darkening drapes were not on a rail and therefore couldn't be closed - pretty useless if you'd like to block out the sun in the morning or prying eyes any other time. Perhaps this will change after renovations are complete. Other than that it was fine and quiet but nothing to rave about. Lees meer

The hotel is beautifully located and the staff was helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the quality of the TV signal. The channels all had "snow." The WiFi was also slow but functional.

The staff at the hotel was very nice. The hotel is a refurbished holiday inn and is very low quality. You can hear everything that goes on in the hallways and in the room next door. It was close to downtown, but kinda tricky to get to. Too expensive for the quality of the hotel.
