Le Meridien King Edward in Toronto

We stayed in King Edward in Toronto for 3 nights while on our visit to Toronto. There was nothing we could mark down for this hotel. The reception area was very impressive, the room welcoming and clean, the service was friendly and efficient and all this for a very reasonable price. While visiting Toronto we also learnt that this hotel is important […] in Toronto history. The location was perfect - close to the main train station, but also walking distance from downtown and other touristy attractions. We would definitely recommend this hotel for all. Two things could have been better: we would have liked to have an option to have a breakfast buffet instead of ordering individual items of the menu and it would have better if they had informed us, that cancelling a morning paper we could save some money every day. But we found a really nice place round the corner for breakfast, so it wasn't a problem in the end. Lees meer

The front desk service, the appointments of the room, its cleanliness as well as the beauty of this landmark hotel all combined to make this overnight stay very comfortable.

Location was great, liked the room....however a couple of peeves were wireless internet avail in room at a cost, but free in the lobby - found this to be an inconvience. Mysterious calling charges on the bill - you had to pay for local calls or anytime you used phone. Was not aware until after the fact. The breakfast was to pricey for what you got.

PROS: Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was a nice hotel that was located in a great location in the Toronto area. We felt safe walking around at different times of the day/evening and it was easily accessible to public transportation. CON: It came as a great surprise to us when we finally arrived to find a notice at the check-in desk announcing ongoing […] construction at the hotel. When questioned, the staff explained that this was long standing and happening near by but wouldn't be of a bother to us. One might argue against this at 7:30 in the morning. This hotel is historically beautiful. Although tired in a few spots, overall still stunning and comfortable and you can't beat the pre-renovation price. We paid a bit more for a large room and were given a suite. The space was unbelievable. So few hotels left like this. I would definitely stay here again.

My gf & I went to Toronto for our birthday weekend and the hotel was simply perfect. Great location near all kinds of awesome restaurants. Super friendly staff. It was amazing. We had a great celebration and the hotel & the hotel location had a lot to do with that result. The only negatives: 1. Wifi isn't free in rooms 2. Parking at hotel $40/day, […] $6/day parkng 2 blocks away, not a big deal to walk 2-3 minutes Lees meer

I paid for a queen suite, but we were upgraded to a king executive, so that was a nice bonus. The bed was super comfortable. I blew a fuse while blow drying my hair in the washroom, which stopped the outlet and light from working. I called the front desk and within minutes, someone was up to fix it. Only downside was the doors seem to slam shut, so […] could hear others coming and going on our floor. Consort Bar in the lobby is a great lounge-type bar to just sit, relax and listen to the music. Great hotel -clean and comfortable beds. Room was bigger than we expected and the bathroom was very nice and larger than most as well. Will stay at this hotel again - prices were reasonable as well.

Hotel looked very nice in lobby and front entrance but the carpets in hotel halls where badly stained room very outdated look nothing like hotel website pictures. Staff very friendly!!! Overall hotel is over priced and needs a makeover for the price they are charging to stay there!!!!

This hotel is perfectly located in the centre of the downtown business district. The subway is less than a minutes walk away. The hotel itself has a lovely restaurant and bar and there are a wide variety of choices just steps away from the hotel. The Le Meridien King Edward hotel is in the business district, close to train and metro station, accessible to highway and a myriad of restaurants and services. While the lobby of the hotel harkens to an era of grandeur the hotel is remodeling older rooms to provide a more modern look and convenience. I got a good rate on the hotel through hotels.com […] and was treated correctly - offered a lower floor remodeled room without a view per se. The bed was wonderful, the bathroom although recently done had very poor lighting. I stayed for breakfast and was glad I did. I was impressed the waiter who chatted amicably with a family who was visiting the area, exchanging stories on places to visit. I was offered excellent advice for a nearby restaurant by the concierge and directions and general help by the very, very nice bell staff. Lees meer

Beautiful updated old Hotel in a prime central downtown location.Has all modern conveniences. Beautiful room and great comfy bed. Staff very friendly. Breakfast in main lobby a treat, for those who love food try the" King's Trio" for breakfast, a real treat.

Right on the tram line on King St. Within a 15 minute walk to Eaton Centre shopping, 20 to 25 min. to CN Tour (or a 10 min. tram ride). Nice older hotel with large rooms, lobby with wi-fi. They do charge for internet in the room, and for parking. We'd stay there again if we revisited Toronto.

The customer service was superb. We got to the city around 11am and were able to check in at noon. Concierge and staff were very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Great location; right near street cars and islands.

We recently took a weekend trip and brought our dog along. The King Eddy is a fabulous place if you are travelling with your dog as every room is pet friendly. The location is terrific. Just steps away from Yonge Street. There are also a couple of parks close by for your furry friend to take care of business. Highly recommended!

We spent a pleasant night at the hotel and found the service professional and the room clean and bright. There was complimentary lemonade and biscotti in the lobby when we arrived and complimentary coffee available in the morning. The staff were helpful and courteous. The service at check in was excellent-they upgraded our room to a bigger suite. The only disappointment was the overall condition of the room-it was in desparate need of a renovation. The furniture was chipped and worn-the paint along the floorboards was chipped. The whole room screamed "give me a makeover". We had exceptional service.

This a very nice older hotel in a fantastic location near a subway, light rail, and tour bus stop. Ask for a room with an updated bathroom with a TV in the bathroom mirror! Very clean hotel with comfortable beds. The only draw back is there is no on-site parking. The valet wanted to park my car at a $40 a day lot. However after further questioning regarding […] parking we were able to find a parking garage a few blocks away that was $25 a day. Also, as nice as the hotel bar is, $10 for a Bud Light is a bit much! I also need to mention that we could not connect to the "Free wireless internet" service in our 7th floor room, possibly a room on a lower floor would have better service. This hotel is right near the HHOF and Eaton Center Shopping. It also is within a block of the metro stop. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Staff and concierge were friendly and helpful. Wonderful hotel, wonderful location but desperately needs a make-over and more importantly--wireless in the rooms. Spoke with concierge who said that this in the works. On the other hand, the great price probably is due to the rooms being a bit tired and lacking a basic service.

While staying at the king edward I had the best sleep of my life because of the mattress and pillows. So Comfortable!

Great service and great rooms

We were guests at a wedding held at the Hotel so we decided to stay because we are from out of town. Wedding was beautiful, food was great, room was great, parking was very convenient.

We were very happy with our weekend. Room was clean and comfortable. We did miss the robes that were supposed to be included. But the staff was helpful in finding a restaurant to add to a wonderful evening.

This was our first stay at the King Edward, but it will not be our last. We were very pleased with the service, room quality, location, and charm of the hotel. We chose it for its proximity to Rogers Center (not so thrilled with the outcome of the Yankees/Blue Jays game!) but it is in an area convenient to so many other sites within walking distance. […] We look forward to another visit.Don Lees meer

I am a native Torontonian and to me the King Edward is one of our great landmarks and a lovely hotel. My room was beautiful and very spacious. The location is perfect for getting anywhere in the city and especially exploring on foot. I will definitely come again

beautiful hotel, great location, I would definitely recommend.

Our stay was pleasant. However I would make a few recommendations to be considered. 1...the pillows were too soft 2...a coffee maker in the room would be nice 3...really missed the ice bucket convenience of getting it ourselves, and not having to tip the delivery guy and waiting for him to come. 4...we were on the 12th floor and there was a lot of slamming […] doors and loud knocking at 2am -3am. Do you have security walking about? 5. the heating/cooling system was either freezing or not on and then too warm. 6...great location near St. Lawrence Market, Good restaurants, transit, theatre and shopping. 7. ..hotel for its age was well taken care of...beautiful lobby area 8...only valet parking .. It was comfortable and convenient but nothing special. The staff was friendly. The hotel looks better in pictures than it actually is.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for our two day stay.

Had a lovely evening out in Toronto & would recommend the beautiful Meridian King Edward Hotel to anyone. :) within walking distance to most all downtown amenities.

The hotel was in a good location and I chose it because of a very aggressive price. The trade-off for that good price was that the room was a bit odd - the bathroom was a strange configuration and the room had a closet, desk, bed and nightstands, but not a dresser or chest of drawers. Talk about living out of a suitcase! The parking was also a block […] and a half away but it was ok weather and one can always use a some exercise. There was a bit of activity because the safe in the room wouldn't open; the security person had to make calls to get it fixed and they were charged to me - the hotel did in the end reverse them (I should have caught them sooner, but I just scanned the bill and saw $0 balance, not realizing they had charged me and hit the credit card as well. All's well that ends well.) The experience was fine and if the pricing is good in the future, I'd stay there again. Lees meer

King Edward is all that you imagine a luxury hotel to be. The deluxe king room was clean, large and bright. The bed was comfortable. The brunch on Sunday morning was one of the best I've had in the city!!!
