We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.
Ligging.
San Diego Marriott La Jolla bevindt zich in het zakendistrict van La Jolla, dicht bij Universiteit van Californië-San Diego, Birch Aquarium en Torrey Pines Golf Course. Bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving zijn onder andere La Jolla Cove en Staatsstrand Torrey Pines.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
San Diego Marriott La Jolla heeft een healthclub, een buitenzwembad en een binnenzwembad. Dit hotel met 3,5 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een huwelijksservice, een cateringdienst voor evenementen en zakelijke diensten regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een nachtclub, een spabad en een fitnesscentrum. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling parkeren. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Elke kamer heeft een balkon. San Diego Marriott La Jolla heeft 365 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker en een gratis weekkrant. Alle bedden hebben een pillowtop-matras met premium beddengoed. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van de snelle internetverbinding (via kabel) op de kamer. Elke 32-inch lcd-televisie heeft premiumkanalen via kabel/satelliet, een videogameconsole en betaalfilms. Alle kamers beschikken over een bureau met gratis lokale gesprekken (hiervoor kunnen beperkingen gelden). Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie, badjassen, designer toiletartikelen en een föhn.
Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een strijkplank/strijkijzer en openslaande ramen. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals een koelkast, een turndownservice en hypoallergeen beddengoed. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. Op de kamers van San Diego Marriott La Jolla mag niet worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

"A bit of a disappointment"
We stay in Marriott Hotels whenever possible because of the consistency. But with this stay we found the room to be very small and needing a "facelift". The colors were dark and dingy. The mattress was definitely slept on one side more than the other as it literally sloped to one side when laying on it. This room was not up to Marriott standards.

"San Diego Marriott in La Jolla"
This was my first trip to San Diego and I loved every minute of it! The hotel was beautiful, I could walk to get breakfast at my favorite bagel place and coffee shop. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

"Marriott La Jolla-always a great stay at a great $"
We have stayed here before and always have a great experience. The hotel is very clean and everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Had a glitch in my parking bill and they took care of it immediately with no questions asked. Highly recommend The Marriott in La Jolla!
"Had Higher Expectations of The Marriott"
I had higher expectations from the Marriott. The room was small. It did not have the "wow" factor. It wasn't very clean. The sheets were torn and the room was dusty. It just looked run down. I was disappointed.

The location is perfectly suitable for the visitors of UCSD since the free shuttle stop is at nearby area. Our room is clean, but somehow it's very outmoded. The socket comes off the wall and the rug has some stains. The hotel won't provide you the frig, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste ans so on, unless you ask for them.

"Nice place to stay - but a couple of surprises..."
The room was small but nice. Staff was wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. Service was very good. My only issues were these: 1. tell us we have to pay $20/night for parking. We were lucky to find parking on the street just down the hill for free. 2. Room is advertised 'with balcony.' But the balcony was so tiny that there was no room for a chair […] & table to sit on it and enjoy the view. It was standing room only. Not the balcony we were expecting. 3. The indoor pool & whirlpool are surrounded by exercise equipment. It was unusual, and made the whirlpool less enjoyable. Otherwise, and overall our experience was very satisfactory! Lees meer

My eleven year old son enjoyed every minute of his stay. 4 days 3 nights! he loved the indoor/outdoor heated pool+ jacuzzi. Old but elegent hotel definitely will stay again. Hotel staff very helpfull and friendly.

We made reservations at the last minute and were initially given a room in which the elevator noises kept us awake. We complained to the desk clerk and he immediately moved us to a much more luxurious and quiet room with a balcony. He also gave us 10,000 Marriott points! The entire staff was warm, friendly and professional -especially William and the parking attendant. Pool was a perfect temp. Loads of fitness equipment! "The Marriott La Jolla - Old Building, Great servic"
I have stayed several times at this hotel due to its location, close to my need. The staff y very friendly and the Room service has been great! The hotel facilities are a bit old, but it is still worth the stay.

We stayed here on a family vacation with a toddler. Room overall is very clean and comfortable but it's a bit small, not much room for kids to run around. There's not much counter space, so with all of the things that come with traveling with a toddler, it was a bit challenging to place and use the necessities. "Marriott - La Jolla"
Very comfortable. Great service. Super health club and pools. The breakfasts were wonderful. Parking and internet charges a bit excessive. Moved over to the Sheraton La Jolla after staying here and wish I had stayed (even at a higher cost) - can't imagine how these two hotels get the same rating. The Marriott was MUCH better.

Overall conditions and service was up to par; however, one criteria I use to judge a hotel is the quality of its towels and Marriott left a lot to be desired due to the thin towels provided, i.e, one shower and the towel could almost be wrung out.

We happy to have choosen San Diego Marriott La Jolla hotel for our stay in La Jolla. The room was very confortable and clean. The hotel service was excelent. The location close to the sights scene areas. We will stay here again.

"Strange experiences"
The room itself was quite nice and the staff I personally encountered were very friendly. It was only later that I discovered that they had erroneously charged a $123 restaurant bill to my room. What was even more strange was the fact that even though I was around the corner and several rooms away from the elevators, I could still hear the whine of […] their motors every time they were used. At first I thought it was the wind, but it wasn't windy outside. The sound must have been carried through the vents. The biggest disappointment was the sound that the neighbors' doors made as they let them close on their own. It seriously just about rattled the room about every 10 minutes as my neighbors left before me. The noise was about as loud as you would expect your own door to make, not those down the hall. I did give a "yes" to a recommendation because the hotel is still pretty nice and is in a nice location, but that goes ONLY for BUSINESS travelers who intend on getting up early. If you are there on leisure and expect to sleep in to the incredibly late hour of 8 AM, then I would say stay SOMEWHERE ELSE. Lees meer

Great place to stay. Only gripe is that you have to pay for parking, $20 per day is a bit steep for guests. While jogging I noticed the office complex around the corner had daily parking rates of $10 per day and I will use that option if I ever am in La Jolla again!

we arrived late at night...check in was a nightmare because they gave us at first an unmade room. To make up for that error, we were upgraded to a jr suite. Problem was that their card keys could not open the door. We tried 3 different sets of keys to no avail. Except for that problem, everything else was almost perfect. "Politeness & Effort"
I was in town, UCSD Marriot, and needed to place to stay. The price was good and the quality and cleanliness was awesome. I booked a regular room and it's restroom and bed room reminds me of Palazzo in Vegas. I did not bring tooth brush, so I called, and the receptionist asked me if I need to tooth paste as well. Beautiful , convienently located off freeway hotel. Everything was wonderful. We took our food from the bar up to our room upon arriving at 10pm.... And it was delicious! Overall, i would definitly stay here again.

A nice hotel locates cross street from West Field UTC at La Jolla. Got surprised about $20 parking fee，but there is 24x7 security guard stands by. OK for that. Wireless is not available in room.
