Hotel Triton, a Kimpton Hotel in San Francisco

Het hotel is zéér centraal gelegen op enkele minuten loopafstand van Union Square. In het hotel zelf kan niet worden ontbeten, maar in het restaurant dat direct naast het hotel (feitelijk in het zelfde gebouw) is gelegen, kan tegen een schappelijke prijs uit een uitgebreide menu-lijst een zéér goed ontbijt worden genuttigd. Wij wisten dit vooraf uit […] de duidelijk beschikbare informatie. Het ontbijt kan overigens ook op de hotelkamer worden geserveerd. Zowel in het hotel (receptie) als in het restaurant is de bediening zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij, iedere avond werd er in de zeer sfeervol ingerichte louncheruimte tussen 17.00 en 18.00 uur gratis en onbeperkt aan de hotel gasten rode-en witte wijn, cider en cognac geserveerd. 'S ochtends werd gratis koffie, chocomel en thee geserveerd. De hotelkamers (wij hadden 2 tweepersoons kamers) waren sfeervol, modern en karakteristiek ingericht. In het hotel was gratis Wifi beschikbaar. Bij de receptie kan ook gebruik worden gemaakt van een pc met internet faciliteiten. De kosten hiervoor waren echter relatief hoog. Great location at 50 meters of the entrance to China town and only 3 blocks (5 minute walk) to Union Square. Super friendly staff, nice room. Bit noisy hotel (because of old building) but very neat and tidy. Would definately go there again!

My wife and i had the best time it had been 15 years since we where in the city.The location was the best right next to China town a short walk to the Bart station and all other transportation. It was worth every penny! Love how cute the interiors are and how nice the staffs. Love the dog friendly environment too.

Stayed here 4 nights and very satisfied. Our room had a great view of the Chinatown Gate, was clean and bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location too, we were able to walk or easily take public transport (the subway, street car, cable cars, buses all available a few blocks away on Market St, desk staff can help you out with […] what to take where if needed). We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Triton! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the treats for our kids were awesome! The rooms are small but we were anticipating that since it is a boutique hotel in S.F. But nonetheless, the rooms were stylish and comfortable. Very nice stay, Great staff- gave us a great dinner suggestion, upgraded our room to the top floor. The hotel had a wonderful wine hour with some very nice guest to socialize with. I had a great experience at the Triton. If your expecting vast amount of space in your room than San Francisco is not your city. The rooms are small (as are all hotel rooms in the city) however they are clean and the beds I found to be quite comfortable. The location of hotel is great-its within walking distance Union Square, great shopping, China Town […] and you can grab a cable car to the wharf. The staff was very friendly. We called guest services twice for toothpaste and clean towels and our request was fulfilled within 5 minutes. Parking is expensive, but this is not exclusive to the Triton -All parking is going to be expensive. Overall we had a great experience and we will be back. We stayed at the triton, it was great. Rooms were adaquate, and it was a great location. It was busy trying to check out news years day, but the staff worked hard to keep up. My only complaint is that the valet curb shot my new wheels on my sports car, and didnt bother to report it.

This is a very 'hip' and friendly hotel. Nothing pretentious or 'large/corporate/indifferent' like some of the other hotels in the area. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Great cafe right next door. Stay here for your next visit---you won't be disappointed.

This Hotel, suposly is Double room but is to small, and smell very bad, the only good thing the location is very good.

I've stayed at more Kimptons that I can count, and they've all been fabulous. Unfortunately, Triton felt run-down and not up to par with what I consider the usual Kimpton experience. The rooms felt shabby and small, with loud old window units. The lobby area was great, and they had coffee in the morning and a wine reception in the evening. Stayed New Year's Eve at the Triton (party in SFO at a friend's house). Great decor, funky rooms. All in all a good Kimpton experience. Had to ask to have our initial room changed (it was a roll-away double!)....and they accomodated us immediately. Stay here when in the city!

Initial room smelled of ammonia, and after bringing this to the attention of the hotel, they immediately found another room. Overall, the location was convenient to BART and Muni lines, within walking distance of Union Square and shopping as well as fine restaurants. The hotel has a certain charm, but the rooms are just too small, bathroom is tiny.

Love this hotel, always stay here when I am in the city

Hotel was great. Lady at the front desk was unhelpfull and rude but other than that it was a nice stay. Warning - If you like to sleep in on the weekends there is some sort of resturant or bar across the street that starts blasting house music arround 10am.

Perfect location in heart of Union Sq. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly without being annoying. Room was small but I didn't spend much time in it as I was out and about all weekend. Exactly was I expected and I will stay there again next time I'm in SF.

Great hotel, friendly staff (dog friendly as well!) and it's in a great location. Across the street from Chinatown and walking distance to the wharves and BART station. I would definitely stay here again next time I come to San Francisco. Lots of great shops and restaurants nearby. Take the BART up from the airport and enjoy the city!

Everything was great including the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff.

Great location could walk to union square and mall on market. Near restraunts and Starbucks. We loved happy hour in the evenings and coffee in morning. We had a quite clean room. The staff was most helpful and gracious!!!! We would stay here again.

This may be the best hotel experience I've ever had! A little gem in the heart of San Francisco, Hotel Triton is funky and cool, clean, well-maintained, and best of all the staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. While the hotel was great my car did get broken into in the garage they recommended. Other than that it was a good experience.

We picked this hotel because of the price, location, and reviews and we were not disappointed! When we checked in, we were greeted by friendly staff, Romeo (the adorable hotel dog), and a complimentary glass of wine since it was time for the evening wine tasting in the lobby. The lobby and rooms look exactly like the pictures. We requested a high floor […] to escape the noise from the busy street below and our room was virtually silent. The hotel is only a few blocks away from the BART which came in handy when it was time to head to the airport. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and will definitely stay there again. Lees meer

I really liked this place. It was hip and welcoming. The staff was really friendly and nice. We even got a complimentary wine bottle at check in. Highly recommended.

I'd actually stayed at the Triton before and really liked it. Through hotels.com I booked a "zen den" which lists a queen bed. When I got there it was a "full," which is too small for the two of us to share. I called downstairs and they said that the reservation was listed as a "house, available" and that for $20 I could upgrade to a king, but they […] couldn't match the description for what I booked online. Something is lost in the translation between what's listed on this site and what's processed by the hotel. I paid the extra $20, but it seemed shady. Got 30% off at this hotel from hotels.com and I was in for a great surprise! This boutique hotel was chic and trendy, perfect for us twenty-somethings that decided to stay here. Excellent service and great staff, and it's located right at the edge of the Union Square shopping district, Financial District, and Chinatown. Highly recommended!

Very convenient for public transportation and walking around. The front desk staff was very helpful, and the lobby and elevator were fun and funky. Great French bistro to one side of the hotel, and a wine bar on the other side of the hotel. The room itself was a little small and dark, and although the ceiling light looked colorful, when you turned […] it on the actual lighting gave the room a bit "bare lightbulb" feel. The bathroom was a bit small to get around too. The bed, however, was clean and comfy. Great place to sleep -- you just wouldn't want to spend a huge amount of time in the room during the day. The hotel was not what I was expecting, but I enjoyed my stay, just the same. The funky decor was reminescent of being in a Dr. Suess book...all bold colors and unexpected shapes. It was fun and unique, and while the rooms and common areas were a little small, the staff more than made up for it with their enthusiasm and friendliness, and the modern […] touches like free wifi and iphone docking stations built into the clocks were a nice bonus. The location could not have been more perfect; it was an easy walk to the waterfront, shopping district, chinatown, etc. If you like the unusual and cozy accomodations, this is the place for you! Like all Kimpton Chain hotels, the Triton is quirkily decorated, well located, and well staffed. It's within walking distance of BART and the Market Street transit. Near the financial district, at the gates to Chinatown, across from a Starbucks, and next door to a marvelous French Restaurant and a wine bar...it's in a terrific location. Staff are not […] only attentive...but they THINK. When I mentioned upon check-in that I had a lot of work to do, they gave me a corner room on a quiet top floor. I've stayed at Hotel Triton twice now. Both experiences have been wonderful. The hotel is fun and funky, but the best part is the amazing staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We asked for directions and suggestions many times and I feel like we were sent to the best places in San Francisco by the staff. Friendly helpful staff, great decor, brilliant location. Rooms aren't huge, but they are comfortable.

I love this hotel. It's hip, fresh, funky and clean. The vibe is great, the staff is wonderful, always smiling and ready to help you with anything you need. I had a wonderful stay. I had been driving a cargo van around SF all day (yuck), and I needed a room last minute. The service at Triton immediately helped melt away the stress. The bellman let me leave my cargo in their white zone until I could get situated. Mary at the front desk sensed my frazzled nerves, and she sent a complimentary bottle of wine […] up to my room in sympathy, with a lovely personal note. That simple gesture put a smile on my face at the end of a long day. I then had dinner downstairs in the adjacent french restaurant Cafe de la Presse, and they let me take my chocolate mousse up to my room. Thank you! Lees meer

I loved this hotel. The price was affordable for a San Francisco hotel and really affordable considering it's great location at the gates of China Town. It's a pet friendly hotel and there was a very friendly pet named "Romeo" who kept us quite entertained one evening. The staff was beyond nice and very helpful. Front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming in a refreshingly natural way, making me feel at home in a town I once called home. Unfortunately that's were the fun stopped. The phone in our (small) room didn't work. The staff offered to lend the lobby phone for free, but I had to insist on getting a new room with a functional phone-- something I […] thought should have been offered immediately, considering the relative high cost of the room. The twin queen room we did in fact get was more spacious than the single queen room, thus more comfortable. The new room had a functional phone, which was nice. Another mildly annoying thing was the absence of toothbrush and toothpaste -- free, but something you need to ask for. In short, I had to do more than my jet-lagged body wanted to do on my one night at the Triton. Word to the wise: funky decor and laid-back staff are cool things, but not when you're weary from international travel. In such cases, spend a little more and stay at the Marriot -- boring, I know, but efficient. Lees meer

I got there at 7AM and they actually apologized for not having a room ready. Really? I'm the one who showed up at 7AM. Great front desk staff who put me in the corner to work until my room was ready. During this time I watched as they greeted all of their guests with the same enthusiasm. They also have a pet puppy on site during the days who is adorable […] and plays fetch. The decor is funky and stimulating. They checked on the room pretty much every 20 minutes and were ready for me at about 10:30 (above and beyond - thanks guys!). While a small room, it did not feel cramped in the least. The full bed had a neat frame that worked with the curves of the room. The TV was angled appropriately. Internet was great and free. Room service was quick (although I do not recommend ordering breakfast. Got an egg sandwich. It was sloppy and hard to eat. Coffee was good though.) Everything was clean and the room smelled good. Staff was phenomenal and acknowledged every time I left and came back. It was a great stay and I would definitely be back! Lees meer
