"Ideal Location"
Easy access from major highways & beautiful area make this a favorite over night stop for us. Although an aging facility the room amenities more than compensated. We will stay there again.

"Older hotel, but cool, river location."
Everything was fine here. I was in town for business and I was looking for a hotel that was reasonable with a river view and easy access to where I was headed in the morning. This filled the bill. Although the hotel is older, it has a feel of luxury from a time almost past.
"Good for a short visit"
My husband, myself and our 4 month old son stayed here for two nights while visiting family. We picked the location because it was close to some parks and wanted to walk our son along the river. It was way too windy while we were there so we never got to do this. Our room was ok, it was on the second level (there's no elevator which is a little inconvenient […] with a baby and luggage) and we had a river view. Two out of the 4 lights in our bathroom were burnt out when we got there and they have minimal toiletries, you can get more but you have to go to the desk in the lobby to get them. Also, there's a vent for a fan in the bathroom but it didn't work. When we got there the room seemed clean but the previous guests breakfast ordering card that you can leave out if you want room service breakfast was left in the room filled out and had food stains on it, kinda grossed me out. My biggest problem was that we stayed two nights and our room was not cleaned in between. Maybe they don't clean rooms everyday but I haven't stayed anywhere that doesn't do this. This would have been nice because we ran out of towels and the trash cans in the room are tiny and were overflowing with diapers by the time we left. "Ok, needs maintenance and update"
Nice enough, location fine. The heater did not work, called front desk, no reply. The room had a little deck, unfortunately the door seal was bad and the wind blew through. The maids could do a little better, funk on the door mirror. All in all, not bad for the price

Great place to stay in town. Business folks and families seemed to be enjoying their stays. Good service, adequate fitness center, nice breakfast, and great river location for walking and viewing. Free internet with good speed very helpful!

Everything went as sold on hotels.com. Room was ready early, people were very pleasant. Perhaps the TV had fewer channels, but a small inconvience. Older hotel but very nice!!!

Nice rooms and a good value. If you plan on eating breakfast make sure you bring money to pay for it. It is not nice enough to be one of those hotels that charge for food. But rooms are clean and for the area it is good.

Travelling for business, this was perfectly suitable. Clean and comfortable. A bit loud and very limited room service options, but the view to the water was pleasant and the neighborhood was very walkable. Super comfy bed and well appointed room.

Booked 4 rooms for 4 families. All families were very pleased with our rooms and the services provided.
Overall condition of the hotel is deteriorating. Needs to be updated for the rate charged.

"Comfortable but lousy cancellation policy"
The people were nice but there was a 24 hour notice requirement to cancel a reservation which cost me the additional days charges even though I let them know on Saturday that I would not be staying through Sunday.
This hotel was undergoing some room updates while we were there.. so there was furniture all over the place!! In spite of that.. the hotel is right on the Columbia River and the scenery is beautiful. My husband and I had dinner in the dining room.. the food was excellent! Then we enjoyed a walk on the greenway by the river. The beds were very comfortable. […] We would stay here again. Lees meer

"Visiting"
The Red Lion in Richland is a good choice to stay at while visiting the Tri-Cities. The hotel service and cleaniness were great.
"Old and overpriced"
This hotel is definitely not worth what it charges. It is very dated and although in a good location, it suffers from lack of regular investment in the property. No breakfast is offered for the price and no AAA or senior discounts are offered. I definitely will not ever stay here again.

Everything was fantastic, except for the part about the wi-fi. I purposely reserved a room that had their "free wi fi service," and was very disappointed to discover that the signal was super weak, and mostly just didn't even work. I don't know if they are trying to run a basic DSL connection throughout the hotel or what, but whatever they have set […] up, it shouldn't even be advertised if it's that bad. Again, the service, the proximity to the river, the outdoor pool, the bar that let's you order drinks and take them to the pool, the cleanliness, and also the dog-friendliness made the stay worth it. Just don't expect to use your laptop much. Oh, and almost forgot, the restaurant was hit and miss. Our entrees were good, our dessert was microwaved and disgusting. If the manager and chef would just watch one episode of Kitchen Nightmares, they would easily find ways to improve, and maybe bring in more than 2 tables on a Friday night. Lees meer
"Red Lion Hanford - Good for Overnight Stays"
This hotel continues the tradition of Red Lions to assume control or purchase other failed hotels and attempt to imbue them with a sense of luxury that simply falls short when you realize you are staying in a gutted former travel motel. The hotel itself strains to be of such high quality that it is a little unnerving. Having said that, the rooms themselves […] are clean and bright, and all appliances and plumbing worked as advertised (toilets flush, showers run, and lights turn on and off.) A curiosity about the room, however, is a master control switch for all lighting which isn't immediately visible upon room entry; if you arrive late to the hotel as I did, take note of the switch to save yourself the fifteen minutes attempting to try and turn on lights in your room. In addition, the hotel's rooms don't seem to be maintained as well as they could be - cracks were noted in the walls as well as warped and water-damaged ceilings. The roof on the second floor is made up of slatted wood that looks like it should belong in a Swedish sauna rather than a hotel. Ultimately though, despite the straining of the hotel to cater to luxury guests, it does maintain a good sense of value that is welcoming to those who are traveling. My final verdict: it's good to stay here for a night or two, especially if you have business in town and are travelling alone, but for any other type of vacation, seek elsewhere. Lees meer

Very convenient; offers PC in lobby to print your boarding pass; restaurant offers nice breakfast buffet for $7.95; friendly service at bar, restaurant, and personnel; free transportation between airport and hotel. Hotel is a bit worn and cleanliness is lacking as there was trash behind the entertainment center in my room.

First of all, the hotel itself is very dated. It's in need of a complete makeover or should just be bulldozed. Room maintenance was lacking: sheets had foreign matter on them; someone left a bottle of melatonin in the drawer; necklace was left in another dresser; sheets had holes in them; hairdryer was dirty; and bathtub plug was missing, exposing […] some sort of gray matter in the drain. Housekeeping appeared to be non-existent. They did have new flatscreen TVs, but the signal was bad so that experience wasn't great. My Advice: stay away! Lees meer

We were pleasantly surprised to find this location and room to be so nice. The Red Lion is an aging hotel chain that is in need of updating! But we found the staff to be very nice and our room was very clean and comfortable. Red Lion is a solid chain and you always know that you will get a decent room and good service. This hotel went above and beyond in the service dept. Great stay for a short visit. I especially enjoyed the staff in the hotel restaraunt, Nancy and Mary. They were helpful and inspired me to get up and enjoy the sunrise with the breakfast buffet. The gentleman […] that picked me up at the airport, graciously came in early to get me to an earlier flight, thereby avoiding the need for a taxi. Great staff! Lees meer

"Ok Experience"
The hotel is showing its age. Our room was clean but musty smelling. It worked ok because we were in Richland on business and not spending much time in the hotel room and the beds are comfortable. Because of the age of the hotel I would give it a 2.5 star rating - not 3.

"Red Lion needs renovation!"
My room smelled very musty, the fridge was broken on a 100 degree day and maintenance never showed to repair/replace it. I reserved a pool view room and received a parking lot view room instead. For the price, I was expecting much more.
Very close to the middle of town and a nice view of the river. Otherwise, hotel interior, exterior, and rooms were very dated, especially the lobby. The rooms were arranged in a semicircular wing, which made for a long walk to the lobby from my room that was on the very end. The food in the restaurant was mediocre, but the service was pretty good.

The Red Lion Inn was in a perfect location for our needs and the service was outstanding. The Columbia River was nearby with paved trails in both directions that seemed to stretch out forever--a wonderful place to walk.

We arrived early evening our 2 bed request prior to arrival was not available, so the girl checking us in offered us an up grade to a river view room with 2 beds, great way to start my stay!! The room was clean,beds comfortable,fridge to keep our beer cold and a microwave to pop our popcorn,coffee maker and nice hot shower to start our morning off right,very […] nice large balcony with two patio chairs and a table.The view of the Park and the river was awesome.There was a wedding reception going on Sat.night, and honestly it never got loud. "it did the trick but"
Room service came in our door at 9am. We told them to come back later and they never did. We were only there two nights, so had to get more towels etc. They need to be more curtious to the people that sleep in and if they say "come back later" then come back later. The bar was fun and the staff in the bar were great. One gal got a little flirtatious […] with the table of guys and forgot about us but it was good entertainment. Lees meer
