Royal Olympic Hotel in Athene

Kamer met balkon waar je niet op kunt omdat de deuren niet open kunnen. Receptie kon niks voor mij doen. Airco werkt ook niet, erg warme kamer. Je kunt je hoofd op de wasbak leggen als je op het toilet zit. Restaurant en bar met erg mooi uitzicht over de stad.

The rooms are not as described, they are smaller, less convenient and partially unclean. The swimming pool had very restrictive opening hours. Service was ok, but its is no 5 star hotel. Barely touches four stars. Won't come back.

bijkomende kosten zoals ontbijt en bar zijn extreem duur Het hotel op zich zeer goed maar dan knap je daar op af.Daarna haast geen gebruik van gemaakt je gaat zowel ontbijt,lunch en diner dan buiten het hotel zoeken waardoor men juist het tegenovergestelde bereikt dat je wt geld uitgeeft.

Wij hebben als gezin van 5, enorm genoten van dit hotel. De ligging voor een toerist is perfect: naast de tempel van Zeus, uitzicht op de Acropolis, dat op loopafstand is. Ook de gezellige buurt Plaka is op loopafstand. Hotel is ook dichtbij de metro (werkt uitstekend). De service is erg goed en voorkomend. Zo ook het ontbijt (was bij ons inclusief). […] Het is prettig dat er een groot zwembad is. Je kunt eten op het dak met uitzicht op de Acropolis, maar dat is behoorlijk prijzig. The location was good to catch the bus or train. View was gorgeous from the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was horrible, but the food and service in the bar was spectacular. Spyros and Yianas were so kind and took good care of us. Nothing exceptional about the hotel, but it was ok.

The restaurant and bars are Amazing as are the public areas. The room however just ok. The towels were very well used. And there was literally dust on the vanity. I wiped my finger through it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Used to be 5* maybe 15 years ago. Only good - the location. Close to Plaka/Acropolis etc. Wafer thin walls, can hear people next door snoring, flashing toilets etc. Housekeeping start hoovering 8am - not good way/time to get woken up. Cheeky hotel charges 3 euros for simple local bottle of water that cost 20 cents in the shop next door and any other […] 4 star hotel gives for free. Breakfast basic - not worth the extra euros you will pay for it. Much better choices in Athens - dont get misled by the 5* rating and the fancy communal areas - hotel is not a good one if you cant get a good night sleep - especially for the money they charge you. I loved the hotel's location for walking around town; the staff even helped guide us to a mass transit stop that is up the road from the hotel. I look forward to staying at the Royal Olympic Hotel again.

The hotel is in an excellent location, opposite the Temple of Zeus, 10 mins walk to the Acropolis and 5 mins to Planka. The hotel was ok overall but our room smelled like sewer every time we came in the room. We asked for a king or queen size bed and they gave us a room with two twin beds put together. Despite being excellently located near to the Plaka and Acropolis, this hotel is the worst I've ever stayed using Expedia. Even though I know it is only the number of features a hotel has for it to gain a particular star rating, when trhe staff have to apologise for a "management decision" to turn off the airconditioning because they deemed it was cool […] enough not to be needed, you sort of question how this place retains a 5 star rating. The only way we could cool the room was to open the open the balcony doors and then be bombarded by traffic noise!!!! In our particular room, the furnishings and the bathroom fittings were very tired and the ceiling paintwork stained which was in complete contradiction to the very good impression you get when we walked into the front foyer which is very elegant and stylish. As another reviewer wrote the rooftop breakfast buffet food was "not hot" but the staff were prepared to take it away and put it in a conventional oven to heat it up because there were reportedly no microwave oven in the hotel. For me to spend the time to write this review when my wife and I consider ourselves pretty tolerant travellers just goes to show how disappointing an impression this hotel left us with. Lees meer

Great hotel! Got upgraded as we were travelling in November and there were not so many tourists. The hotel room was fantastic, the view great, expecially from the rooftop bar/restaurant. Only one point not very optimal is the sport facility, which was outside the hotel, around the corner and quite hidden. Other than that very helpful personal.

The hotel is very good kept,the views are phantastic(if you got one facing the Acropoli)the staff most of them very pleasents,but the internat connection are very poor>the staff try to help but i beilive theat the problem is the upgrade of the existing system. The restuarnt and the breakfast are excelnet and again the superb view!!

Was definitely not 5 star. The "hot" breakfast was always cold and not very nice. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room service and restaurant was closed for 2 days due to staff strike which made the visit difficult as you could not get any food in the hotel. Quality and service of the food was very disappointing.

Reception staff very friendl, helpfu and informativel. The most wonderful views from the roof terrace both day and night. The hotel is perfect for site seeing, most sights are in walking distance of the hotel. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and was a perfect location for two days pre cruise. We would stay again.

Room was very spacious with a very modern bathroom and nice furnishings however there is traffic noise and it required us to keep the window closed. There was air condtioning. This hotel is perfectly located to see the ancient sites in Athens. You can walk to everything. The king sized bed turned out to be two twins pushed together under a single headboard. The restaurant is very expensive. The food is ok, but you pay for the view.

We only had one night at the Royal Olympic but would stay again in a heartbeat. Beautiful room overlooking the ruins that could be seen lying in bed. Gorgeous, spacious marble bath. Reasonable cost and amazing rooftop restaurant with magnificent views!

I loved this hotel. I did have the Athenian Panorama room which was just beautiful.The view from my room was the Temple of Zeus. The staff were always accommodating and assisted with our every request. I cannot fault this hotel and will be staying here every time I am in Athens. We had the Panorama View and it was beautiful!! The room was excellent. Sadly, we were not impressed by the lack of courtesy shown by the breakfast staff. They were unsmiling and unhelpful. Please o not believe the photographs on the website, the hotel is not an iota of those. Rooms are small and basic, hotel is not ad grand as the photographs show. The best thing about the hotel is the location.
