This is a 4 star hotel, but i think the star ratting in france is a bit different then in other counrty's. This is 3 stars and nothing more. the rooms look good and are clean. but it is all in the detail of the finishing and the maintenance of the room. breakfast is buffet is to expensive. and the small breakfast is a cup of coffee or tea with 5 mini […] croissants. Everything about the Grand Tonic is first class and the price was reasonable! The rooms are small but the bathroom is a good size and well-equipped. The Front Desk staff are couteous and helpful and the location is fabulous for sightseeing. BUT be careful where your room is located. Avoid the side street where a Night Club is very noisy until the wee […] hours. Also avoid staying there when the weather is good and the A/C is not operational - between seasons. Great hotel with very helpful and polite staff. We were a party of four. One of whom was disabled. The hotel staff made every effort to make our stay a good one even to the level of making sure the floor we stayed on didn't have any obstacles with regards to wheelchair access. Would definitely stay again.

Marseille was warmer than Los Angeles, but the thermostat in the room would not turn on AC, so I had to open window to cool off the room. My window faced a bar that opened till 2 - 4 am, I had to endure noise and mosquito bites throughout my stay. When I checked in the clerk failed to tell me that there would be no water from 8-2 pm the next day because […] of city work. The sink was clog up the first night, but after 20 hours flight time I was too tired to complaint. I didn't have water in the morning, and the maintenance guy fixed the sink in the afternoon. Positive note, they have bathrobe and slippers in the bathroom. I love Marseille, but I would probably try another hotel in Vieux Port next time. Lees meer

Room was very hot at the time of our stay (end of October) because AC had been turned off for the season. This meant window had to be opened for sleeping (but loud noises outside all night long put an end to that idea).

When we arrived, our first impression was not entirely favorable because of the rather plain decor, but the hotel grew on us due to the comfort and location.

A small hotel overlooking the Old Port, surrounded by restaurants and shops this is a great place to base yourself when visiting Marseille.

The room was dormitory style with a bed so narrow I about tumbled out rolling over. The restaurant staff was rude and wouldn't take a room service order a half hour before the posted closing time.

i feel be good in this hotel my stay will be satisfaied

Excellent hotel with excellent location right by the Marseille harbour. Close to the train station, easy access to taxis, restaurants, tour boats, buses. The reception staff all speak very good English (at least all three we spoke to) which is very helpful. The only downer was the expensive and meager breakfast buffet.

Hotel was ok but nothing more. It was quite though it was next to streets with lots of trafic due to double glass windows. Breakfast ended early so I didn't get a chanse to test it. Only stayed one night.

Marseille is not my city. It's simply too dirty, too many beggars. The staff at the hotel was there, but not really attentive. As I wanted to drink a bier, I was asked from a young lady-are you staying at this hotel. I have stayed in a few hotels during my roundtrip, this is the only I wouldn't recommend, as the whole city.

Our air conditioner never worked well (80 +F. in our room) despite multiple complaints. Their are three (3) illegal places (Zero legal places!) to unload your luggage out fron or near the fron entrance in this crazy, busy city. Don't expect the staff to help, they won't even offer. The "ladies" that arrange the breakfast were too busy talking on their […] cell phones out front of the Hotel and making out with their boyfriend to ask us anything or ofeer any service both days at breakfast, This according to the Hotel is a "four star" property, more like a Motel 6 on service! I stayed here because I got a good deal on Hotels.com, and for the most part, I was very satisfied with my stay with them. Their location is great, and it's easy to walk everywhere from there, I even walked to Notre Dame de la Garde. They're close to many good restaurants, both touristy and not, so depending on how much you want to spend, that can help […] you decide where to go eat. This property is ideally located for a visit to Marseilles. It is at the foot of the port with easy access to many restaurants, sites and metro. It's entrance is squeezed between a MacDonalds and their related cafe/restaurant and with luck you may get a view of the port. Out first assigned room smelled strongly of carpet or other cleaning products, […] had several steps up inside the entrance door and backed to the interior courtyard; the displeased front desk clerk assigned us a 2nd floor room (US standard) with an arched short window facing the port and with wood laminate flooring. The front desk staff was only marginally useful but the in room accommodations were nice with an excellent tub and rain-head shower head system. Overall, a 3-star, well located hotel. Lees meer

Good location,right across the street from the Vieux Port. parking 2 blocks away.Private toilet, but across the room from the bathroom. No sink in toilet area. Elevator only goes up to 4th floor.

My girlfriend and I spent 4 days at the Grand Tonic Hotel in Marseille and I was incredibly pleased with it. The room was much larger than I expected (there are lots of horror stories about tiny rooms hiding behind nice lobbies). The hotel had almost nothing for a lobby, but the rooms were decent and modern. We must have lucked out, because we ended […] up on the 4th floor with a corner room, so we could see out over the harbor and also look up a side street. The windows opened wide and made for some great photos. There was free wifi included with the room, but only 1 hour per day. We didn't use that much, but if you were there for business and needed to be online, there's probably a way to pay for more time. There was a McDonals on the main floor, which could be a perk or a detraction, depending on how you see it. The location of the hotel really couldn't be any better. It gave easy access to both sides of the Old Port, and was close to the tourist office and the main streets. The Metro Station is right across the road, and the pickup for the 'Grand Tour' bus is there too. I would highly recommend the tour, as it will give you a good lay of the land. There was a really nice looking restaurant under the hotel (next to the McDonalds) and their menu was posted in the lift. We never tried it, but it certainly looked nice. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who can handle being in a dense urban area. There was some deal of street noise on the weekend, but nothing that would detract from the stay. The location of the hotel is pretty good, seeing as how it's located on the Vieux Port, with a nice view and short walk to lots of restaurants, the metro, etc. However, behind the hotel is not the best of areas... some shady bars (Jylos & another one + a "Private Club") with prostitutes hanging out in the evenings. So... Just stay away from the area […] directly behind the hotel. The room was small, which is typical of European hotels and the bed was hard as a rock, but that's also typical of European hotels (unless it's like a Marriott). The bathroom however was very nice with high end & modern finishes, granite counters, jetted tub, etc. Where the hotel didn't live up to it's 4-star status was with the condition of some items - the doors were all scraped up with paint peeling and they didn't shut very well (let noise in). The carpet was matted and quite stained. The laminate hardwood flooring wasn't laid down properly and creaked and you could feel soft spots when walking across. Additionally, the TV only had like 15 channels - I normally expect more from a 4-star hotel with several English channels. Service at the front desk was fine, but nobody was overly friendly. Reasonable access to the train station via metro and right on the port. Great nearby drinking and dining options.

hôtel bon rapport qualité/prix. Service agréable, petits déj express bonne formule, le sourire en plus. Eviter les chambres qui donnent sur la rue car le Mac Do est à côté, et bruyant.

Ett helt ok hotell ifall man vill bo i hamnområdet, dock blev vi tilldelade ett rum med utsikt emot baksidan, dvs inte ut mot hamnen, vilket förstås hade varit trevligt. Inredningen var ok genomtänkt, men underhållet av densamma verkar man hoppa över. Ta tex vår kran i badrummet som inte satt fast. Detta kan ju knappast vara något som de "missat". Receptionen […] hade problem med att rekommendera restaurang, nu löste det sig ändå. Men de borde ju kunna rekommendera gäster. I alla fall har jag många bra erfarenheter från det då jag har bott på andra ställen. Lees meer

Hotel tres agreable et bien situé mais un bruyant en ce moment a cause des travaux actuellement sur le vieux port il faudrais juste mettre a la disposition des clients dans les chambres une bouilloir comme dans certains hotels

Accueil très agréable. Chambre sympa mais salle de bain très abîmer, couvercle des toilette casse, pomeau de douche qui fuit... Très déçu quand à leur prestation pour un hôtel 4*....

J'ai séjourné 3 jours à cet hôtel avec mon petit fils d'1 an. Aide formidable et avec le sourire

franchement le prix est largement correct !!! J'ai pu profiter du confort de la chambre et bien me reposer Je sais ou je descendrai la prochaine fois

Je pense que l'hôtel est surclassé. Il ne mérite que 3 etoiles.

Nous avons été déçus par l'accueil très froid (ni bonjour, ni au revoir, aucune question sur le séjour...) et sur les prestations. Nous avons du réclamer un deuxième peignoir et on nous a fait sentir que nous n'étions pas des clients privilèges, alors il fallait pas trop en demander. Les jets de la baignoire balnéo (le petit plus qui nous a fait choisir […] cet hôtel) ont projeté sur ma femme une eau saumâtre et très nauséabonde. Un petit déjeuner fort cher pour des mets basics!!!!! Bref, un ensemble bien en dessous d'un quatre étoiles!!!!! Lees meer
