The hotel was very clean, comfortable and convenient to the Merchandise Mart as well as other places.

Great location, service and a large room in downtown Chicago! Concierge was very helpful with seafood eating places close by. VERY quiet. Did not hear any street noise all night.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was a very relaxing and wonderful experience. We went shopping on the Mag Mile out to an early dinner then back to the hotel. After a bit we went to the bar area and that was very nice. My husband & I stayed in the Westin with our teenage daughter & her boyfriend for New Year's Eve. We had a great view of the river and Wacker Dr. It was so easy to get in and out. Everyone was kind and helpful with suggestions. We took a cab to Fogo de Chao for dinner and then to Navy Pier for fireworks. It was an easy walk back to the hotel afterward. […] Close to many eateries and attractions. We enjoyed our evening in and then checked out the next morning and went to brunch before leaving town! I can't say enough about our stay. Normally my wife and I just go at Christmas but this time we took our 2 boys with us. People at the hotel were so friendly to all of us. The bellman would talk with my boys every time we went through the lobby and the front desk gave our them a little Christmas gift when we checked out. Great experience!

My daughter and I had an enjoyable stay at The Westin River North for a combo 21st birthday/ Christmas shopping trip....What an incredibly comfortable room with the great view, fluffy robes, and spacious bathroom! We also enjoyed the downstairs lounge and sushi bar! (Yum!) We also loved the convenience of being within walking distance of world class […] shopping on Chicago's Magnificient Mile! This hotel surpassed our expectations from the moment we walked in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received a room upgrade and were very happy with all aspects of the room with the bed being the most comfortable ever. Location is within walking distance to most popular destinations.

desk refused a late checkout even tho another member of our party got one. television did not work and hgad to be replaced parking cost $51 for one day hotel generally overpriced

We were at another hotel the night before..one with a fabulous reputation and weren't pleased. We decided to stay another night and picked Westin and that neighborhood to try. The Westin was so calm and quiet. They really were nice and went out of their way to make sure our stay was just perfect...they gave us an upgrade just because we waited a bit […] to check in! Overall pretty good. But, room was very warm. Even with the temp set to 65. Very stuffy. Festival of lights caused hotel to be busy I believe for housekeeping to have our room ready on time. Upgraded to king, city view. Hotel was nice. Temp control was the only complaint.

charge you $9 for use internet in a 5 star hotel is just stupit. I love westin, but next time will choose a less greedy hotel . Everything was fine as expected for a high price high rank place. people very nice.

Nice hotel! Stayed for the Chargers/ Bears game. Nice location right on the river. Walking distance to most everything. Only one complaint. They have free wireless in the the lobby and lounge, but you have to pay in your room. WHY?

The Westin River North is located perfect walking distance to thousands of places to eat and all the shopping. Very close to Michigan Ave and Navy Peer. No cab required. Safe location and the staff is very friendly. Would definitely stay here next time!

Pet peeve is mold in the shower / bathtub so they could have done a better job caulking to avoid that. Anyway, nicel hotel and the staff was courteous. I would definitely stay again.

My experience at the hotel was great! The staff was friendly at check-in (I got a room upgrade with a river view). Parking was included in the package which was very nice as parking is expensive in Chicago. The valet and luggage assistance were pleasant as well. I would definitely stay again.

My new husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Westin very much. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The front desk person upgraded us to a bigger room when we arrived once she found out we were newlyweds and she even got us a champagne and strawberry treat at the end of the night. The concierge pointed us in a great direciton for a nice dinner […] and suggested drinks at the signature lounge in the Hancock building which was wonderful at night over the city. clean, well located hotel. after a few days got very tired of every employee with their hand out and hidden charges for things like wireless internet. At 11:30 on Saturday the Concierge went to lunch, leaving 10-12 customers waiting.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, the location was great, I had a beautiful view of the Chicago River from my hotel room and they even put a nice couch in front of the window so I could look out in comfort. A very nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Was very pleased with our stay! The lobby was a bit dark, but the rooms were nice and very clean.

I booked three rooms, two for three people and one for four people. I paid an extra for the extra people, but when we got there, we were given two rooms with a king bed and one with a double. When paying extra for extra people, there should be room for them all to sleep in a bed. Also the rooms were not ready at 4:00 when we arrived.

I wanted two rooms with two double beds in each room. When I got to the room they told me they were all out of those rooms and only had king beds available. Then when I asked for a rollaway they wanted to charge me $30! I was disappointed in this aspect. The location was great!

Westin provided my family of four a good weekend stay. Staff very friendly, location was great was able to walk to most of our destinations or take free trolley. Only knocks were one head on dual shower head did not work at all and room had a stale smell each time we came in.

Door men were extremely kind and helpful. I was a little disapointed in the price of the hotel parking cost. $52 dollars a night is steep. Also having to pay for coffee in the morning was not expected. Other than that, great place.

Went to a conference at this hotel. Not only was my room nice and comfortable with a great view, but the meeting rooms and food were wonderful!

This hotel was very conveniently located. My family of four was able to ride the EL, take cabs, walk to Navy Pier, walk to Michigan avenue, starbucks, restaurants, etc. It was a perfect weekend getaway. Very nice, large, comfortable room and super friendly staff. Parking was only $16 at a public garage just down the street. Only downside was our room […] was on 3rd floor and we were close to street noise and some late night chatter from girls in the hall. But overall, we loved it and would be back in a heart beat. My wife & I stayed at the Westin for a family wedding and found it to be very cool. It's well-kept (clean) and has the feel of a small to mid-size hotel when compared with the mega-hotels in the city. Very nice. BCW

Our room was quiet, clean and had a great view of the Chicago River. Expect to pay for anything extra including internet access.

The only strange thing was we could hear our neighboor talking on the phone in our Bathroom., The noise seemed to be coming from the light fixture in the shower. Obviouslly some accoustical issues.

I stay in Chicago quit a bit and when I stay I generally stay at different hotels along the Magnificient Mile. I will have to say that the Westin is probably one of the best, if not the best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. I loved the bathroom and open room. At first I was a little […] concerned with the rooms not having complimentry internet service (there is a fee if you use it in your room), but I found that you can use the internet in the lobby area free of charge (which was fine with me). Everything about this hotel was what we expected. The location was key - overlooking the Chicago River! We were given the opportunity to upgrade to a club room which included internet access and a continental breakfast. I will most likely upgrade again, although from my experience in Europe, the breakfasts were a little more hearty and diverse.

The hotel is conveniently located (River North). The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

Nice location; nice hotel. Easy walk to Michigan Ave shopping as well as a plethora of restaurants. Clean, comfortable room. Lady at check-in we had a good view of the river from our room. Not the case, unless you consider a 20 foot section of the river a good view. We DID have a great view of a parking garage and the world's ugliest building, The House […] of Blues. Oh well, what do I expect?...I booked the cheapest room available. Breakfast service in restaurant was a slow, but food was good. Gotta work on that Chicago weather....44 degrees, windy and raining in mid May, not the best way to attract tourists! Lees meer

The only disappointment was the location of the hotel. I chose the hotel based on the distance to the Chicago Theater but the information on the website was incorrect. The theater was about a mile from the hotel not the advertised 400 feet.

This hotel seems like a great value with a Great Location. We were put in a room with a recent water leak. We were told they were scheduled to paint it the following week. We spoke to the front desk manger who said he would let the GM know. The front desk manager called me twice on my cell phone. When i said it does not seem like the GM cares. True to Westin Style - very clean, classy, and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and the room immaculate. The temperature was pretty bad - not sure if they hadn't yet turned on air (it was unseasonably warm in Chicago) but it was STEAMING and we had a hard time sleeping because of the temp.
