Erg schoon,goed onderhouden,parkeergelegenheid.veel eet gelegenheid in de buurt. Wel een slechte buurt in de omgeving.receptie had wel even kunnen waarschuwen dat je zodra het donker worst niet naar buiten kan.veel zwervers en gangster in de buurt!

Het hotel ligt vlakbij een metrostation en heeft daarmee een perfecte locatie om de stad te verkennen. Het is goed geregeld met parkeren, je kunt in- en uitrijden. Kamers zijn prima.

Het hotel lijkt recent gerenoveerd te zijn. De kamers zijn mooi en netjes. De omgeving is echter wat minder. Een iets armere wijk van LA. Wel een heel leuk jaren 50 restaurant op loopafstand. En om de hoek bussen en metro. Prima openbaar vervoer, als je alle tijd hebt. Met 1 bus naar Santa Monica Beach in 80 minuten, voor 1 dollar 50. Redelijk hotel voor een schappelijke prijs met een fijn zwembad. De service was prima. Toen de airco het niet deed, kwam er gelijk iemand om te kijken wat er aan de hand was. We kregen een ventilator totdat de airco (de volgende dag) was gemaakt. Het ontbijt was ok. ontvangst hotel was heel vriendelijk...kamer was in heel nette toestand...grote bewaakte parking achter het hotel... ligging was een van de beste...dichtbij het metro netwerk, de walk of fame en de Universal Studios ontbijt was inbegrepen in de prijs...stelde echter niet veel voor...geen fijne vleeswaren of kaas....enkel wat eieren, worstjes en pane […] cakes... ook het ontbreken van een safe op de kamer werd als een gemis beschouwd Lees meer

Het Hollywood hotel is zeker de moeite waard. Bed ligt erg lekker, goed ontbijt, centraal gelegen (metrostation is 3 minuten lopen en daarmee ben je in no time op je bestemming). Met de metro reis je gemakkelijk naar bijv. Universal Studios en de Walk of Fame. Een metroritje kost maar 1,50 dollar. Kortom een erg goed hotel!

Goede ligging als je geen auto hebt. Metro vlakbij en meerdere bussen. Je bent zo op hollywood boulevard en in Universal studios. Schone kamer. Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Buurt is prima. Geen nette wijk.

Een prima hotel voor een aangename prijs. De lokatie is gunstig en je kunt met het openbaar vervoer veel leuke plekken bereiken.

Het hotel ligt aan een doorgaande straat met vrij veel verkeer, daar heb je verder geen last van. Het is een keurig hotel voor de prijs die gevraagd wordt. Het parkeren is NIET inbegrepen bij de overnachting en kost ca 19 euro. Je kunt ook in de buurt proberen te parkeren. Dit heb ik gedurende drie dagen gedaan. aardig hotel enig minpunt kamers aan straatkant zijn slecht geluidsgeisoleerd drukke straat , het lijkt precies of de auto s naast je bed rijden parkeerplaatsen zijn betalend en redelijk duur

Prima hotel, niets op aan te merken. Perfecte lokatie, want op korte afstand van Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Universal studio's en (iets verder weg) het strand van Santa Monica. Ligt niet in de beste wijk van Los Angeles, maar zeker ook niet in een slechte buurt, zoals in andere recensies wordt beweerd. Wij hebben er in elk geval geen enkele last van […] gehad. Hotel is up-to-date. Ontbijt is super, heel compleet. Kortom: wie Hollywood, Beverly Hills en het geweldige Universal Studio's wil bezoeken, doet er goed aan hier een kamer te boeken. De ligging en de kamers waren perfect. Er is een microgolfoven op de kamer, maar toen ik soep wou opwarmen, ben ik een drinkmok gaan vragen aan de receptie. Maar daar kreeg ik de mededeling dat ze geen toegang tot de keuken hadden. Ik ben de dag nadien een drinkmok uit de ontbijtzaal gaan halen, want ze hadden niets dat ik kon gebruiken om mijn soep […] op te warmen. Het ontbijt is waardeloos: eieren in de vorm van een pannekoekje (smakeloos) en verschrompelde worstjes. Uitgedroogde donuts hebben ze ook. En dan heb je het ongeveer gehad. Waardeloos ontbijt! Vlakbij een openbaar vervoers-knooppunt, is het met het openbaar vervoer slechts een kwartiertje naar Downtown, niet meer dan een halfuur naar alle bezoekbare filmstudio's & West Hollywood en naar Beverly Hills. Een goeie 40 minuten naar de kust/Santa Monica/Venicce/.. Voor ons, twee studenten zonder (huur-)auto, was het dan ook een droom van een locatie. […] We hebben zoveel bezocht dat we zelfs zijn vergeten van het hotel hun zwembad en sauna gebruik te maken. Hun (gratis) ontbijt was niet spectaculair, maar bood voldoende variatie (eieren, worst, broodjes, croissants, wafels, ontbijtgranen, enz..). De mensen van de housekeeping die we ontmoet hebben, waren stuk voor stuk erg vriendelijk en ook het personeel aan de ontvangstbalie was behulpzaam en hielp ons verder met vragen over winkels, openbaar vervoer en bank-informatie. De kamers waren zo goed als vlekkeloos (enige "vuiltje aan de lucht" dat we ooit gevonden hebben, waren wat afgebleekte plekken op (weliswaar versgewassen) een laken. Verder wordt alle badgoed (indien gebruikt) keurig gewassen en opgevouwen, tot het badmatje en het anti-slip-matje toe. De kamer had een mooie flatscreen-tv en leeslampen (met elk twee handige stopcontacten ) op de nachtkastjes. Er is zowel draadloos internet als een UTP-kabel ter beschikking, hoewel de kabel zich op een wat ongelukkige plaats naast het bed bevindt. Niettemin hoeft dat geen probleem te vormen, aangezien de snelheid van het draadloos internet voor dagdagelijks gebruik niets te wensen overlaat en steeds beschikbaar was. Er wordt gevraagd om geen downloadprogramma's te gebruiken, verder is er geen echte restrictie (youtube, bv. vormt geen probleem). De buurt rondom het hotel is typisch Noord-Hollywood. Op het eerste zicht een beetje groezelig, maar steeds goed verlicht, met ziekenhuizen en supermarkten vlakbij en dus allesbehalve achtergesteld. Been there many Times, love the place, but on this stay the drain of our bathtub was clogged we could use our shower or tub. And they couldn't fix it right away. It was unfortunate.

The hotel is quiet and very practice to visit LA

I loved this old hotel with all it's charm. It was easy to get around to what we wanted to see. Like Universal studios, CBS, and the Farmers Market. The hotel just made me smile. It was clean and charming.

Firstly before we arrived the day prior, we rang to ensure we could leave our 2 suitcases before checkin which was 3pm. Were advised no problem. When we arrived which was about 1pm, were told no we couldn't leave suitcases, the room was full. The lady was very unhelpful said come back at 3pm as no early checkins. We wanted to leave our cases before […] we had to return rental car. We held onto the car, came back at 2.45 told to come back in 10 minutes, returned and waited until 3.45 for checkin (by that time the other lady had finished her shift and we found out the luggage bay was not full, seems she just didn't want to do checkins !) When we returned the car were charged extra $42 .. Very unhappy. The hotel room and the hotel do not really look like the photo's. Bed was relatively comfortable, the rest of the room is fairly old - especially the bathroom. The tap on the shower doesn't work properly. The in-house guide to the hotel is nonexistant except for the takeaway menus (hotel has no food - except for breakfast, which was quite good). Overall I would not stay at this hotel again which was a bit disappointing as we were looking forward to the stay. the hotel location to the train station was good - but I am sure there are other better hotels close to transport you can stay at. We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel for 1 week. The longer we were there, the more I liked it. The location was perfect for us - I had a 2 day conference at LA Children's Hospital, which was within walking distance, and we were also visiting my daughter, whose apartment was only 10 minutes away. Walking straight up Vermont the area was lively at night, […] with several good restaurants. We would definitely stay there again. Lees meer

Was nice and clean and the breakfast was nice too.

This was a good hotel with a great rate for LA. The lobby and room were both clean and above average. The only thing that bothered me was the slow wireless internet and lack of restaurants or attractions close by. Metro or bus are needed to get anywhere in the city. Next time I will stay at a more exciting area. I would have given the hotel 4 stars […] if it had better internet or location Lees meer

The room was rather small but the bed was comfortable and everything worked. The breakfasts were really very good.

The room was just OK. The air conditioning was bad. you couldnt control it from the room and front desk had no control either. but if you visit in the winter you should be fine.

The rate was lower than other hotels and it was only a 5 min $1.50 subway ride to Hollywood and a few minutes more to downtown LA. Breakfast buffet (incl in our nightly rate) was delicious and a great way to start each day. Pool was clean. Service from staff was a bit slow on occasion.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We did not expect much after the rates being so cheap. On the outside it does look small and did not quite resemble the pictures. We were also a little unsure about the location to begin, it doesn't look like the friendliest of neighbourhoods at night. Having said that the staff were SO helpful and friendly […] pointing out all the good shopping centres and eating spots and organising our day trips for us. The room was very clean and comfortable and offered free wi-fi. This small hotel definately out shone the very 'ritzy' hotel we stayed in at Vegas. Ill keep this simple. The only thing that let it down was the breakfast staff were European and only interested in a grade service to other Europeans. But everyone else was amazing and very helpful

A nice comfortable hotel with a good size room. Lovely comfy big bed also the convenience of afridge & microwave. Nice breakfast provided with omlettes & waffles cooked to order.

Compared to the hotels in LA, the Hollywood hotel was an amazing hotel experience for people with high expectations and low budget. The parking is very secured and safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, free breakfast. Not a five star but help to keep us within our travel budget. Great restaraunts five minutes north. Because of marble floors in corrridors (first floor) the sound echos in the hallway. Nice warm breakfasts, could have more fruit in buffet. Friendly and helpfull desk.

This hotel is conventantly located to the metro. Was very clean and quite. Walked to Wendys after dark with no issues.

Hollywood hotel in Hollywood - allows dogs in rooms! Helpful front desk staff, good breakfast provided.

The room was large but needed overall spruce up. Breakfast staff was rude and limited to one omelet per person and would not let me take coffee mug to the room, Picture of hotel on website is from parking lot that is nicely gated but rather expensive. We were on the street side so we faced the parking lot attendant and heard all the loud street traffic. […] Amenities promised were not received site on Hotel.com said shuttle service to Universal studios which was one of the deciding factors for choosing this hotel but when we arrived they said was only available if tickets where purchased thru their provider. Overall, we are quite satisfied, staff are very couteous and grateful. Location is close to all major LA tourist points.

Driving up pictures online portray a much nicer hotel than it actually is. When I checked in I was given a room that already had occupants in it- how embarrasing it was when I opened the door to find people already settled in the room. Then I checked my bank account, only to find out I had been charged 3x's the amount for parking and my deposit. Got […] it straightened out-but I shouldn't have had to since I was on my vacation. Next, the first morning I was there the maid opened the door four times without knocking - trying to clean the room. I would have put out a do not disturb sign but one was not provided. My sister and I stayed here between 19th - 24th March and very much enjoyed our stay. The staff on reception were lovely and very helpful, we frequently asked them where things were and how to get there and they always had an answer. On arrival we saw cleaners steaming the carpets of rooms that were vacant. Our room was cleaned every day, with beds […] made and toiletries replaced. The free breakfast was great, eggs made to order and fresh waffles, sausages, bagels, toast and cereal. The fruit wasn't exactly plentiful so we just went with the less healthy options. A free breakfast can hardly be complained at. Our room was great, the beds were comfortable. The metro train and bus stops are literally a 3 minute walk, max, from the hotel. And Holywood Boulevard is about 4 stops, 10 mins away. Absolutely fine during the day, a little more unnerving at night but we're 2 young girls and we had no real problems so as long as you're careful and just keep yourself to yourself there's really no issue. Our only problem with the hotel was the fact that it's all on one heating/air con system and as it was only March we found our room to be a little bit too cold at night. However we just went down to the front desk and asked them to switch off the airflow into our room which helped a bit. Don't bother trying to change the thermostat in your room, it doesn't do anything. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at The Hollywood Hotel. Lees meer

We had a great stay. The room was comfy, breakfast was free and actually really good. The staff was friendly. The bar downstairs had open mic comedy every night and was really funny. Just remember it costs $20 per night for parking in the hotels private lot.

The hotel would have been better had the elevators and the hot water heater not broken. We had no hot water for most of the day. The staff were very nice until we asked about the hot water and were told that we could check out if it was a problem. Location in downtown Hollywood so not the best.
