Hotel is right on beach and boardwalk. Everyone at Hotel was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were really clean and very nice. Everything about hotel was great, minus the restarant in it, It was o.k. food, but not the greatest. Portions varied by day, and service was slow...

i loved almost everything .. was very upset that the cable did not have channel HSN and QVC. the cable was out the beginning of the week and they said it would not be fixed. i was extremely disappointed.. that is one of the main reasons i booked this hotel. i always use these channels while i am on vacation. was going to change hotels but i wanted ocean […] front and i did not want to find another place.. i will change in the future if they cannot have all channels available. We stayed in Ocean City for a family vacation off season, and it was awesome. The restaurant and bar was nice. Also, the location was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed our beach front room. I would definitely stay again :)

This hotel was horrible! When my fiancé and I arrived it appeared a cute small hotel that you could tell had some history. But when you got in the elevator you could feel the history! It felt like the cable was going to snap and the elevator would drop. Then when we got in our room it smelled musty and gross. Later that night I went to take a shower […] in the oddly arranged bathroom and the way the "shower" was set up it was flat and in line with the regular floor with no downhill tilt to help the water drain and the bathroom had a slope to the room. Needless to say when I showered, no mater how hard I tried, the water ended up all over the bathroom floor AND drained onto our carpet which explained the musty mildew smell first discovered. The toilet also ran the whole visit. The staff was decent. Nothin spectacular but they weren't rude. The best part was it was on the boardwalk and a nice walk. The view wasn't amazing either but you could at least somewhat see the beach. Overall it was disappointing. It was better than sleeping outside but nothing that would be comforting for a vacation. Friendly staff, clean room, great location

We stayed during the off season; so the hotel was extremely empty, a long with all of ocean city. But the room was really clean, and the king bed was comfortable. If I were to revisit OC, I'd stay at this hotel again.

This was a quick romantic get-away for us. We loved the ocean view from our room! How relaxing to see and hear the waves. We had a sofa & armchair from which to view the waves. We had a balcony too. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. We enjoyed the jacuzzi in the evening after we walked the boardwalk a few times. A breakfast restaurant […] was nearby too. Because it was Feb. mid-week it seemed that we had the hotel to ourselves. (Not so on Fri. our departure date. It wass booked for the weekend.) We would love to return and stay in the same room! As noted in other reviews, the hotel has a terrific staff. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The room was so clean it might never have been used. I like their option of not having the sheets and towels changed daily. It saves on water and energy. But if you want them changed daily, the hotel will do that. Only two slightly negative comments. This was our first visit to Ocean City so i can't make a comparison with other hotels in the area. We found the rooms very clean, very hospitable staff, and a great location for enjoying the area. Would not hesitate to book again!

Very clean nice ambience as you enter thru the main lobby. Bar and restuarent in the hotel. Parking very convienent ,across the street. We went in the middle of December, so it may not be the same in Summer, as this is strictly a resort town. Many places of dining were closed, overall it gets a high mark. The hotel staff was very friendly but didn't seem to have a grasp on handling a simple reservation. Our room was booked through Hotels.com and prepaid. When checking out, we were given a receipt reflecting $0 balance - that room had been paid for - not charged to our credit card. A few days later I was charged for the room. It took a few calls to the […] Howard J and Hotels.com and it was the hotels fault. They quickly refunded the double charge. Overall the hotel smelled kind of funky - our room even funkier. The room and bathroom were clean - new mattress - pretty decent location. It was December so the hotel was not packed by any means. My husband and I love to go to Ocean City, MD. This was a last minute, cheap trip that we decided to book through Hotels.com. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Neither my husband or I have stayed in a HJ since we were kids. Hotel was beautifully maintained. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Balcony was off of room from double wide french doors […] and looked directly onto the ocean. Bathrooms had just been completely remodeled. Staff was very friendly. Also got a great dinner tip from the front desk staff for half price dinners in the area while we were there. We can't wait to go back in the spring. Lees meer

It was a delightful surprise that the hotel my husband booked us into was right on the boardwalk, with a side view of the beaches from our balcony. There were some cold days, and the room heater worked just fine to keep us cozy. I particularly loved the plentiful supply of big, fluffy bath towels, the shower stall rather than a tub, the big TV screen, […] and the reliable wireless connection. The only negative note was the fire alarm going off at 9:30AM on Thanksgiving Day, and of course it was a false alarm. Still, we had to walk down and up five flights of stairs. The front desk staff were wonderful about it and made us feel comforted and consoled. We also enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant, with excellent service and food. Can I get this price in April ? This is a great hotel and all of the services they provided was wonderful.

The room had an 18" wide shower. No Tub. Water went on the entire bathroom floor. Very lousy set up. Had I known this, we would have never stayed.

Very comfortable hotel and the location is great, right on the boardwalk. Price was exellent for the room and location. 6 blocks down the boardwalk hotels wanted more than twice as much for the same room. Restaurant in the hotel was good. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Howard Johnson's in Ocean City. The people were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the scenic view from our room. The cleaning crew was terrific- left us lots of fresh towels and extra shampoo even though we did not need to have the room cleaned each day. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great location right on the boardwalk, and hotel staff was absolutely wonderful! Hotel room was small, but for one person it was great as the bathroom was very small. Internet access in room was great! Restaurant on site had good food and was very convenient!

We got a good deal last minute and when we got to the hotel, it was different from what I expected. We entered from the ground level but check in was the 1st floor. There was this smell that stayed throughout our stay which was bothersome. The staff was really nice and when we needed anything, they were quick to help. The rooms are small and the bathrooms […] smaller. But overall we payed less (thanks to Hurricane Irene who came a week before) and for that price, we got an oceanfront hotel with free parking and free wifi. If we were to get a similar deal again, we wouldn't mind staying for a short trip Lees meer

The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the boardwalk which made it easy to get to the beach and back. Restaurants and shops were conveniently located nearby. We had a great stay and would certainly return next year!

good location, rooms little small, pool was drity Didn't like how the shower left water run all over the floor. Should have a shower outside to shower off sand from beach.

The room we had was ocean front. I paid BIG money for this room. The bathroom was very small, the shower barely shot out water, but some times it was hot. The energy efficient bulbs they use, I hate. The carpeting in the room was trashed, tore up and we tripped on it throughout our stay. There was a big hole in the wall by the one bed. The second day […] we noticed a whole lot of ants on the dresser under the TV. And the last two nights, the cable TV went out. The staff was very nice and professional. I just can't believe they charge that much money for a room, and give you something that hasn't been kept up since, what appears to be, about the 70's. Lees meer

The best part of this stay was the hotel lobby staff. They were a wonderful group of people who did everything to make our stay comfortable and accomidate our needs. Added with a great sense of humor, I would stay here again. As for the hotel itself, the rooms were clean. Visited the OC for the 1st time an can say i had a great time hotel was right on the beach our room an bathroom tho tight wit just two adults was cleaned everyday but for the direct access to the beach an boardwalk I can recommend this hotel very accomodating.

We were very pleasantly surprised with our entire Howard Johnson’s hotel stay. From the cleanness of the room, to the amazing ocean view. The microwave and refrigerator were in good working order. Although, the shower curtain in the bathroom smelled a little musty, and I have to mention the lack of care at the hotel pool. On two separate occasions at […] the pool, there were no clean towels available and used towels were left on the floor and tables around the pool side. Overall, a good hotel experience. The bathroom and doorway for the bathroom was not big enough for my wheelchair.

First off, this hotel has its own parking garage, which is invaluable down near the boardwalk. The service at the front desk was great. Was able to get my parking pass before check-in so my family and I could spend the day at the beach before checking-in. The front desk had great dinner recommendations as well. Check-in and check-out took less than […] a minute. The room was exactly what I had hoped. Had a good size fridge (which was fantastic) and a microwave. Bathroom was tiny but was newly redone and very clean. Balcony had a nice view of the beach and ocean. The hotel is in a great location, right on the boardwalk. I went to Ocean City, MD for the very fist time with my family of 03 (including my nine month old daughter) and was very satisfied with my choice in hotel stay. We were very disappointed in our choice to stay at the Howard Johnson located on twelfth street in Ocean City. The hotel looked like it wasn't remodeled in years. The rooms were very small and the floors were uneven going from the bathroom to the main room. The neighborhood did not make us feel secure and the parking was very limited. Our stay there was excellent! We arrived and our room had two queen beds and a pull out couch with a great ocean view.
