Holiday Inn Boxborough (I-495 Exit 28) in Boxborough

The service was below my expectations as a Gold Member. The front desk personnel checking in were slow and not aware or trained well in Customer interactions. The checkout was an issue as I did not get a receipt and he had difficulty in producing one. Could not wait. The bartender (tall male) not very friendly or service oriented.

The hotel was very nice our room was beautiful.... The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The courtyard is amazing!! my only problem wich really was not a huge deal was there was a wedding being held there so the music went untill 11;00 the music was not bad it was the talking DJ his mic was way too loud. the kids had a blast. the staff was friendly. the pool area was very nice. only improvement i would suggest is better food in the pub area.

The staff here is incredibly accommodating and kind. They bent over backwards to take care of me every time I asked for anything. I have never stayed in any hotel where the staff was so kind and wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay there happily again.

The front desk were not very friendly. They told me nothing other than where the room was located. There was no complimentary breakfast. And the restaurant at the hotel had absurd prices.

This is the second time I have stayed at HI Boxborough and am--as before--surprised that it has bad ratings. The staff are amazingly friendly, even calling after I was settled in my room to ask if everything was in order, asking if I needed anything. The restaurant is exceptional with some of the best prime rib I have had outside of a multi-star steakhouse; […] the drinks are also generously poured. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for maintenance during this visit, but it was open previously, and I enjoyed the warm and clear water. The pool area is beautiful, complete with tropical vegetation and fountains with the great sound of splashing. Upon arrival, I am greeted by name, with a broad smile, and have yet to be refused a room upgrade. I am hesitant to recommend this property only because I do not want it to fill-up, thereby leaving me without a room. We had to check our room at time of check-in because of possible hot water "issues", but we had scalding hot water at the tub. However, next morning , when my wife tried to shower, there was NO hot water. After calling the front desk, we were told that someone would bring us a key to a room where we could shower. When my wife went to that room, she […] found a room which had been just vacated and was dirty, with towels on the floor. A trip to the front desk resulted in the manager sending her to another room which housekeeping had assured him was clean. Not so; this room, also , was dirty, prompting my wife to drag me with her to confront the front desk. The desk manager apparrently checked himself for a clean room , and sent us on the way top clean showers one more time. While at this room, a member of housekeeping brought us coupons for complimentary breakfast, which did not benefit us since I had already paid extra for breakfast when I booked the hotel. All this very unfortunate, since this hotel is just about the ONLY choice when we visit relatives in the area. On our last few trips the only worthwhile feature has been breakfast buffet. Lees meer

The rooms are configured in a rectangle with the front desk at one corner. The young clerk gave us our keys and directed us to an elevator from which we had to walk the entire two lengths of the long sections of the rectangle and one more length of hallway before reaching our room which could have been so much easier to reach if the clerk had just directed […] us across a courtyard, the shortest distance to the room. Having had both hips replaced, and my wife one knee, this extra mileage was not welcome The restaurant did serve a very good breakfast buffet. Lees meer

Had a comfortable and totally satisfactory experience here. Nicely appointed hotel.
