Econo Lodge Kansas City Airport in Kansas City

The hotel was outdated, smelled and creepy. Close to airport though.

Walked into room, it was dark felt very funny walking Put bag and pillow on table heard splash. Turned on room to find room flooded. Staff was very nice, upgraded us to king room It was fine. Thanks for the great customer care.

The Good: It was clean, and the service was polite. It was also inexpensive. Cons: Paper thin walls... heard people talking all night from rooms on both sides of us. Heard people trying to be quiet walking down the hall. Every door shutting was super loud. The cheap rate just wasn't worth losing a night of sleep.

Old Hotel. Musty rooms. Worn out beds. Other than that well it is an old, old hotel. You would be better off buying a blanket and sleeping in your car.

It was great to find a smoking room as most hotels don't have them. I just wish they would spray the rooms when they clean them to try and cut down on the smoke smell. It was comfortable and the shuttle driver was very nice.

If you are looking for a place to stay for a layover, this is your best bet. It's close, affordable and clean. Please note however that the hotel itself has seen a better day. While it looked like it redid the bathroom of our room recently and the front desk staff was nice, the hotel could use an overhaul. For the 8 hour over-night layover we had, […] it was perfect... however I would NOT recommend this for any long stays. There is no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, please keep that in mind. Most rooms are either up a flight or down a flight. Also keep in mind while reading the other reviews here - If you have caviar dreams, but a fish stick budget - you will get what you paid for. Convenient, Affordable, Shuttle, Clean Room.

Just needed a place to stay the night before flying out early the next morning. This was definitely not the best place of all time, but it's okay for a quick night's stay.

Rudest hotel owner ever!! Will never stay here again.

The guy at the front desk forgot to call the shuttle. We ended up waitng at midnight at the airport on the curb for an hour (w/a baby). The shuttle service was nice and clean and once called came promtly! When we got to the hotel we were checked in and told we were on the 2nd floor with no elevator and we had strollers, lots of luggage. The breakfast […] was toast or danish, coffee or OJ. We flew into MCI as a last minute change trying to get to DEN and ultimately to PHX. We had to find a hotel with a shuttle to and from the airport. When we landed I called the hotel right away. The desk agent said that the van will be there in 2 or 3 seconds. We waited about 15 minutes and then I called again. The desk agent again said they would be […] here in 2 or 3 seconds. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting for the van, I called the hotel once again. Our flight got in at 10:30pm and we had a 6:45am flight out of MCI the next morning. So you can understand the urgency to get to the hotel. This was a shift change at the hotel and I spoke with a different agent. She was extremely friendly and apologetic for the delay. She explained to me to look for the blue Thrifty van. I said, oh that is where the problem occured. I was never told to look for a blue Thrifty van. Yes, we saw a bunch of those drive through the airport. We waited about 2 or 3 seconds and a Thrifty van came by. The hotel overall was fine and the second desk agent was very nice especially when we finally made it to the hotel and checked in. We even saw her in the morning when we were checking out. I just think that in the future the desk agent should make sure their customers know that it is not an Econolodge shuttle that comes to pick you up at the airport. The room was of minimal standard with no fridge or microwave, but it was very convenient being oon the same strip of highway as the airport and easy to book on such short notice.

I needed a simple room while stranded in KC overnight. My room was inexpensive, very quiet and very clean. Just what I needed for the night.

It is a great hotel for the price. No frills, but a nice, quiet place to sleep in a great location. The staff is very friendly and even throws in a bite to eat and fresh coffee at breakfast

The room was horrible, no elevator so I had to carry my backs up 3 flights of stairs, the room was very dirty, sheets had not ( or appear to not) been changed since the last guest, no food within walking distance.

I picked this hotel for park and fly. It is a very good choice for a budget minded person. Parking is an additional $4 per day when not staying at the hotel. The shuttle pickup is Thrifty car rental. They are fast and friendly.

I stayed at the comfort inn a half mile away for the same price 3 weeks ago and that place was alot better. No breakfeast, hotel stunk and looked old and beat up.

This is a good cheap airport hotel. They have smoking rooms so that was great. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It's pretty much a no frills place that you wouldn't really want to spend more time than you have to in. The bed was very comfy. The shower was great. I had zero problems with the parking. The room was not clean. You could here people walking and talking above the room in the hall ways and from both rooms next door. The toilet ran all night. The shower did not work properly and the TV reception was very poor. The air conditioner barely kept the room comfortable and the fan on the AC was extremely loud. Phone kept hanging up on my calls and the tv was blacking out. The AC was very loud. Trouble getting rest in this motel.

Our room was ok. Until the bugs came out. We were preparing for bed when I was dive bombed by bugs. When we turned back our sheets the bed was crooked(bed spread) the sheets looked like they had been slept in for a week or two.

I had to stay overnight before traveling on to my ultimate destination, and Econo Lodge was exactly what I was looking for: Inexpensive, close to the airport, and with free shuttle service to and from the terminal. If that is what you're looking for, I can recommend Econo Lodge.
