The location was excellent to the Rail Station and the Underground. A friendly local pub was just a block away. The hotel was under construction probably getting ready for the Olympics so we didn't get a feel for its full potentional. This hotel is not luxurious, but honestly (other than an alarm clock) it has everything that one could need, including refrigerator/minibar (which however the staff kept neglecting to restock, despite my frequent reminders). The breakfast was fine to my taste, but my 20 year-old daughter did not like it. The room was quite clean, and the beds/pillows […] were very comfortable. The shower was quite acceptable; plenty of hot H2O with a forceful stream. The soap bars were very small and dissolved after 1 person's use, but that problem was easily solved by asking for several more bars of soap! However the front desk staff was not too bright; once we asked the concierge to help us book tickets for the Eurostar and he told us twice that the charge wouldn't go through on my debit card, despite the fact that I had plenty of money in my account. A little later we discovered that the reason it didn't go through was that he had put down United Kingdom as the country we live in (we're actually from the USA!) The hotel is right next to Victoria Station, which makes it very convenient, although the view from the windows is not attractive and it is somewhat noisy if one were to stay on 1 of the lower floors (we were on the 5th floor, so the noise was not a problem). All in all, the hotel is quite adequate and I do recommend it if you want a reasonably priced hotel in a good location. Lees meer

Positives: -Right next to Victoria train station and Victoria tube. -Clean, decent sized room. Negatives: -Extremely under construction to the point that there was no exit for a short while. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. -Nothing else around except train station (but not a big deal because the tube is easy). -Mediocre service. Acceptable and convenient to Victoria station...right across the street from the hotel. Very central There must have been something wrong with the heating and cooling because the entire hotel was a sauna and the air con wasn't working in the hotel. Air con in dec...yes. Would stay again to give the hotel a second chance

I booked a double but when I arrived was told only twin bedded rooms were available. When I protested they said they had one double after all. It turned out to be a room for a disabled person. There was no carpet so the floor was cold and clinical and no shower enclosure so water went all over the bathroom floor. Oyher than that, the bed was comfortable […] and the room clean. But I was annoyed that they did not honour my booking of a double bed. Lees meer

This hotel was nice with its modern decor and good location right next to the train station and a few blocks from Buckingham Palace. The bed was comfortable, the room was nice, but there is little space to move around in the room due to large furniture and poor views from the room window... which wasn't an issue for us at all. We are very easy going […] people, and we don't require much. However, we do like for our shower/bath to drain properly. Within a matter of seconds after turning on the shower or tub spout, the tub would be filled with water. The drain was clogged with other visitors hair, dirt, etc. We advised the front desk, and they moved us to another room. We quickly discovered the new room had the same issue. We were tired, it was late, so we thought we would sleep on it and discuss it with management in the morning. We spoke with the manager, and she advised us the tub drain would be repaired immediately. We returned to the hotel later that day, and the tub still would not drain. Of course the manager and maintenance was gone for the day. We checked out early the next morning and was not able to discuss the issue with management again. European hotels charge visitors before checking in, so they had their money and wasn't concerned. We really liked the hotel but didn't appreciate standing in several inches of water filled with other people's scummy dirt that had been built up in the drains. This hotel is very convenient for train/tube travel as it sits across the street from Victoria station. I ahve stayed there on 3 recent business trips in the past 2 years. The rooms are nice (although a few are quite small), the bed is very comfortable and the desk area is ample. However, the biggest problem is the quality and nonreliability of their […] free wireless internet in the rooms. It sometimes takes 10-15 attempts to connect over a 20 minute period with repeated logging in and logging out and rebooting of the computer to get a connection. The signal strength appears to be good, but it just won't connect. This is extremely frustrating and annoying and my cause me to not stay there in the future. Lees meer

Stayed 1 night on business - good location staff very helpful will use again.

I was very surprised on arrival at the hotel to find it under quite an extensive construction, there was loud drilling and the main entrance was closed. I had received no notification from the hotel that this would be happenning on my stay. I was then put on the 2nd floor right above the drilling which went on for hours. I rang reception and was told […] they would check out would construction be going on over the weekend and also why we had not been told about it, no one ever rang me back about this. The room was not very clean and the curtains were hanging off the window which also did not close properly so it was quite noisy. I found the staff to be unhelpful and never returned any calls, you felt like you were staying in an apartment rather than a hotel which should have staff on call at anytime. They layout of the wardrobe was also very strange as it was just shelves against the wall, my mother banged her head on the corner of one of these which is in a very dangerous area near the door, again no one was interested at reception and I could not get anyone to answer. I wouldn't stay here again as I seen other hotels close to the same area which looked nicer. Lees meer

So convenient, rooms were bigger than expected, very clean, reliable internet connection. Within short distance of train and tube station.

Thought the hotel was very well appointed, lots of places you could walk to. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean.

I booked this hotel based on the pictures and descriptions shown on hotels.com they gave me a room far from what I've seen on the pictures. Not clean, very small, and poorly maintain. The internet connection does not work 95% of the times and the service of the stuff is far from acceptable.

hotel was great but we were unaware of construction across the street which made it impossible to sleep for more thana few hours. if you can be guarenteed a room in the back , stay, if not go to another hotel.

Just outside the #1 exit of Victoria station (as exits are numbered from inside the station), this is a very clasy, modern European hotel. Beautiful bathroom, free wifi, and a US plug at the desk. Terrific stay!

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 3 or 3 1/2. If you want to be right next to a train station, the location is fine. We were put on the train station side of the hotel - the only thing that saved us from sleepless nights was that we were on the 8th floor. The room was so small it didn't even have a closet. The bath towels were so thin you could almost […] see through them and they don't even have face cloths. The breakfast buffet (not included in the price of the room) was only so-so. And the free internet service was two computers on the business floor - one of which was broken the entire 4 days we were there. If it weren't for the fact that we were out of the room most of the time, I would have gone bonkers. The people at the front desk were very nice and tried to be helpful but you can't do anything about so many problems. We would definitely stay here again because of the location to the underground, train and bus stations. Also very close to Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abby, the Parliament buildings and the London Eye. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and helpful.

This is a great location from which to explore London. Just a 10 minute stroll to Buckingham Palace. Our room was average size as you would expect. The only thing we would criticise is the front desk service. We found it very difficult to get any help as they were so busy and none of the staff on the front desk would help us, instead they would refer […] us to the concierge who was inundated. Very nice hotel, great location adjacent from Victoria Rail station (as stated). Perfect location to major attractions,easily accessible transport modes i.e. city buses, hop on hop off buses, tube, taxiis. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there again soon.

I was amazed at the quality of this hotel for the price. It's up-to-date, even air-conditioned, and the service is excellent. And it could hardly be more convenient. You walk out of the back door of Victoria Station and cross a street and there it is. Well located, friendly staff, and nice room!

Found the hotel to be very noisey being right next door to one of the main stations in London. Room was ok very basic and wasnt happy, the price we paid didnt include breakfast which i find not good. And wasnt going to pay £18 in the morning for it. Rubbish was being collected all through the night as the bins are right opposite the hotel.

The room was fine - even though it's too expensive for such room. Can't believe that the water was blocked : the bathtub, the basin and the worse is the toilet! Not too much effort to send up the maintenance people. Just make sure you check the bathroom is okay !!

The towels in bathroom were skimpy and thin. No facecloths to wash your face or for the shower. Because I am a senior person, getting into the shower was quite cumbersome because of the bathtub was so high. Lots of construction going on around the hotel area. Breakfast not included and was very expensive for the amount I would eat. The hotel representative […] was very helpful and setting up tours for us to take and helped booked them. Lees meer

My wife and I willnot stay in another hotel overseas that don't have a United States connection. We stayed at the Hilton in Scotland, now that's a 4 star hotel, the Hesperia 1 to 2 stars at the most.

Perfectly positioned hotel, would definately stay here again. Staff in both reception and restaurant very polite. Rooms very clean and bathrooms quite spacious. Restaurant food very nice and hotel public areas clean and quiet. Downside to the stay - room was a bit noisy, the concierge went missing to cover the reception and we constantly had to avoid […] the cleaning trolley which was always parked outside our room. hotel is great and enjoyed our stay

I stayed in this hotel because I had to be at Victoria Station at 7 am. Pros: - very close to Victoria Station - I requested a room facing away the station (as recommended on other reviews and got it) to avoid the noises at night, and had no problems sleeping.  - free wifi, just ask at reception for password. Cons: - shower in bathroom wasn't cleaned, […] used soap and shampoo bottle from previous guests still were in the shower. - not the best area in London to stay - no free breakfast Recommended if you need to be in Victoria Station early in the Morning, otherwise find somewhere else. Small room, no closet, they had a dowell in the wall to hang your close on, this was the biggest negative. Had to ask for body lotion and hair conditioner. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.

This hotel is directly across from the Victoria Station (out the platform 1 exit) which makes it great for commuting around London. The room was nicely kept and the staff was knowledgeable. Great Hotel!

We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to Victoria Station (it's across a street) and the favorable reviews. We both had large rolling suitcases and accessibility was important. We had two different reservations, one before and one after a cruise. Each time, we were presently surprised to find that we could check in at 11 a.m. and the room was […] clean and ready. We could walk to Buckingham palace, the London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster. The staff was friendly although we experienced some inexperience with the check-in clerks. The air conditioning thermostats take a PhD to manage. Plenty of restaurants and espresso shops are in the area. The check-in clerk tries to pressure the occupant to signing up for breakfast at a low discount rate of 14 pounds, which is about $25 US apiece. Sticker shock to me. Lees meer

Before our cruise from Southampton, we stayed 3 nights. Comfortable walking across the street for the underground. Much sight seeing in the area of London. Good help at front desk. Stayed another night upon returning from cruise. Overall a very pleasant stay. Thanks.

Right behind Victoria Station and central to the sights in London, this was a great place to stay. All of the staff and especially the concierge were very helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious and looked like it was new. I would highly recommend this one.

Great hotel in a great central location

I was very happy with my stay at the hotel. The room was neat and clean. The water in the shower was not hot enough for me. The front deck staff provided outstanding service. They went over and above to assist wiith a problem. It is very close to Victoria Station. The play Wicked is playing down the street. I will stay at this hotel in the future.

Hotel personnel were polite and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job. As are most European hotels, the room was small, but clean and comfortable. We would consider staying there again should we ever go back to London.

Rooms need a big update. Rust in bathroom, paintjob needed everywhere. Old furniture. No bugs, though! Others in the area are better.
