Bedford Plaza is voor Amerikaanse begrippen als toeristen hotel een behoorlijk luxe hotel te noemen. Ligt ca 40 minuten rijden van Logan Airport in een rustige buurt aan een doorgaande weg. Klein winkelcentrum op loopafstand. Grote mall op 5 minuten rijden. Voor een bezoek aan Boston kan in binnen 20 minuten naar metrostation Alewife worden gereden, […] neem daar de (schone) metro naar het centrum voor ca $2,50 per persoon per rit. In een overdekte binnentuin een volledig ontbijt met roerei, worstjes en bacon naast de bekende bagels, koffiekoeken en cereals. Goed hotel voor de prijs die je er voor betaald. Auto in parkeergarage onder hotel. Wil je in het centrum zitten voor bv het nachtleven, neem dan een andere (duurder) centrum hotel. Lees meer

Uitstekend hotel in Bedford, net iets ten westen van Boston. Zeker als je met de auto onderweg bent en een dagje Boston wilt bekijken. Je kan dan in 15 minuten met de auto naar het eindpunt van de rode metrolijn rijden, station Alewife, daar voor lage prijs parkeren, en dan via Harvard, downtown Boston bereiken. Je hebt WEL een auto nodig als je vanaf […] dit hotel ergens naartoe wilt. In deze suburban omgeving zijn allerlei grote malls, prima restaurants en bioscoop in de buurt. Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten bij bijv. Romano's Macaroni Grill. Verder in hotel ook alles prima. Garage onder hotel kon je meteen inrijden vanaf straat, en dan binnendoor lobby inlopen om in te checken. Als garage beneden ('s avonds) vol is, dan zijn er naast hotel nog voldoende plekken. Parkeren is gratis voor gasten. 2 persoonskamer was zeer groot en netjes ingericht (2 queensize bedden). Badkamer en toilet waren keurig schoon. Wireless internet beschikbaar. Zwembad is overdekt en ligt midden in hotel onder het zicht van alle kamers die geheel rondom aan galerijen gesitueerd zijn. Zag er leuk uit. Prima uitgebreid Amerikaans ontbijt (eieren, spek, pannekoeken, brood, cereal, etc.) inbegrepen bij de lage prijs. Zou hier zo nog eens naartoe gaan als ik weer met auto bij Boston ben. BIj meerdaagse stedentrip zou ik wel hotel in centrum Boston nemen, maar dan ook geen auto meenemen. Al met al is dit een uitstekend hotel! Lees meer

At first glance, this appears to be a decent hotel for the price. But after I walked into reception area, I had to wait while the clerk spent 10 minutes on the phone complaining to a pizza joint about bad service it had provided him. Yes, HE was complaining about bad service. Other than glancing at me, he did nothing to acknowledge my presence. No "be […] right with you" or "just one minute" or a simple apology after he did get around to checking me in. The place looked decent enough so I stuck it out. The room seemed clean and I had a comfortable night's sleep. Next morning, I went down to the breakfast buffet. I'm by no means a picky eater but the breakfast was completely inedible. Again, I wasn't expecting a great meal. But I did anticipate something fit for human consumption and this place did not deliver. Will not stay here again. Lees meer

The beds are worn out as if they came from someplace that previously thru them out. Cell phones hardly work in the rooms. The place smells like old, bad cooking (indian style). Heat and air conditioning is unreliable. The shuttle took close to 30 min to arrive. The hotel knew the night before that we needed the shuttle to be there at 945 the next morning. […] When we checked out at 930 she called to check on the shuttle and said they were on their way. The only good thing was the pool...location horrible very sketchy...blow dryer was a fire hazard n they never brought me a replacement.they promised..hotel is in major need of.a remodel..breakfast was the worst ever...not work the cheap m one y

Stayed here one night and had to move on to another work location but as soon as I came back to the Boston area-I went back to the Bedford Plaza. Good location, nice staff, heated indoor pool, work out room, good location, indoor parking garage! Great place. Can't wait to come back to Boston to stay there again.

You get what you pay for. It's cheap, feels cheap, and was empty when I was there. The breakfast was edible, but not fresh.

I remember staying here when it used to be Hilton (if I remember correctly). Since the name and ownership change, this hotel has gone down south. First room quality: I stayed at a 2 double bed room. I walked and trying to be sanitary, I looked at the bed sheets. It had stains on them and didn't smell like they were cleaned. I asked for a change, and […] it took them a while to do that. Second, food quality: They offer a "continental breakfast" so I decided, why not try it. I guess there weren't enough guests to have a buffet setting. When the food came out, it looked alright, no restaurant style food. But i took a bite, and the food was COLD. so I asked for a reheat, and the guy just pointed to the microwave that was there. This is the worst place to stay. The mattress was so old and broken you completly sank into the middle. We reserved a king and.were given two doubles and then threatened to be charged extra to get a king. The breakfast food was horrible..the staff doesn't speak.any English and.was very rude. We had a power outage for three days and I needed to get a warm place for my 87 year old mother to stay. The rooms were ok and served the purpose.The breakfast buffet was really good. I was a little mad that they charged me extra for a child in my room who shared our bed!!! Hotel is old and badly in need of renevations. Beds were old and mattresses were quite worn out. Wireless internet was mostly unusable, pitifully slow.

Parking under hotel is cramped and small. Additional parking across the street from the hotel. Rooms were clean but old. Shades old and some handles for blinds were broken. Property not well kept up. Room rate inexpensive so you get what you paid for. Bathroom very tiny but they did have soap and toothpaste. Buffet Breakfast provided but not well organized. […] They ran out of food often and items not replaced as people stood in line waiting. We went to McDonalds next door! Ran out of dishes and silverware as well. Clients were disgruntled and frustrated with service. They were not prepared for number of people staying after the snowstorm and power outage. We stayed here because it was close to home and work during the power outage. Otherwise, pass. The heating was too high and could not be controlled. Too noisy at night.

I was forced to stay here because i had no power. The hotel was very busy so i figured i would have to wait. It took very long to check in and when i got to my room a couple was already in the room which startled them. I did understand it was busy and it must of been a computer glitch. I let the manager know i wasnt happy about this and he gave me a […] attitude and told me he wasnt comping the room which i didnt even ask. I just said i needed a new room he said they might all be booked . The girl at the front desk then took mover and got me a room. The hotel was clean and had a nice pool but it seems as the manager and employees have a hard time under pressure. Room stank like people had sex the whole day before and smell was attempted to be covered up by baby powder. It was bad. Was non-smoking room but i can smell smoke. Potato and egg in the morning was horrible. The potato was burnt crispy and tasted like it was left overs from 2-3 days prior. The Ketchup was good.

There were minor indications that maintenance on this hotel had not been keep up. For example, the room number on the telephone was not the room number on the door. There were chips and dings and stuff like that.

We were only there for a short stay . room was very nice. Real quiet and free hot breakfast was a nice treat. Would definetly stay there again. Price was a real steal.

We stayed here for4 nights. Our first impression was not that great because there were people asking for money back.. But after we checked in and got comfortable everything was fine.. It's an older hotel but well maintained. Good room service every day.. They supplied breakfast everyday which was the same, scrambled eggs, bacon pancakes plus other stuff. […] Get it early before it rubberizes..lol.. Overall an inexpensive place to stay outside of Boston and we drove to the Alewife Subway (15 minutes)everyday and went downtown.. Enjoyed the subway rides as we were wearing Blue Jay stuff and going to the Games at Fenway.. Great way to make conversation. Buy the 15$ subway pass which is good for 5 days and allows you to hop on and off as many times as you want.. Great way to see a great City. Lees meer

This is an older property whose age is reflected in its low price. Breakfast was fine. The have the feel and layout of a 60's motel. There is indoor parking and an indoor pool which was pretty large for a small hotel. its walking distance to a mcdonalds, tj max, liquor store and grocery. and a friendlys. not bad for the price

From the outside, we almost thought that the place couldn't be a hotel, but looks can be decieving. Inside was very nicely kept, a little on the older side, but still a nice place for being off the beaten path. The pool was great, and the breakfast was very welcomed. We would stay again.

Good location -close to subway ( 15 min drive ) for Boston downtown. All inclusive - Free Parking, Free WiFi, Free HOT Breakfast, microwave/ fridge, and an INDOOR pool as well. Only cons are , NOT so great bathroom & the old noisy air-con, but it seems like they're improving / renovating step-by-step. I picked this hotel from its locations and the star rating. The front desk guy was very helpful. Except that.... I arrived late, around midnight, was not any place to eat, ending buying sandwiches on the nearby gas station. The room ok, the restroom was uncomfortable. you can make coffee in your room, but there is not sugar or spoon or that kind of […] stuff. The breakfast was decent except for the sunny-d orange juice. Dirty rooms and ice cold pool. Only good thing I can say is that the breakfast didn't suck.

The bathroom was disgusting. We didn't dare step on the floors without our flipflops on. It looked like there was mold but couldn't be sure. The hotel looked lit it used to a motel turned into a hotel. The pool area looked nice but we didn't use it.

I got a discount rate for this room and I am very glad I didn't pay full price because the hotel is very old and run-down. The shower had moldy grout and the whole place really needs an upgrade. The breakfast had styrofoam plates and everything had an air of "let's just do the minimum to get by." While it was way cheaper than staying in Concord, not […] sure I would recommend this unless you're looking for a bare-bones, old place to sleep cheap. The Bedford Plaza Hotel staff were friendly and professional. They were very responsive to our needs. The hot breakfast was ok, a little dry from sitting in the warming pans,. It got old after 5 days of the exact same thing. The rooms were clean, but not maintained very well (i.e. chips out of some furniture, caulking in the bathroom was terrible, etc). […] The indoor pool was nice and well maintained. The garage door was broken for the last couple days of our stay, so it had to remain open. This hotel is at least 1/2 hr away from the city of Boston, so it was not quite as convenient as we would have liked (and it was a challenge to avoid the toll roads as tourists - we did figure out how to avoid them for the most part eventually). It was easy to find (it just took a while). For those who are in town to visit lexington and concord or Walden pond it is a convenient location. If you are looking for a hotel with low rates, and decent accomodations, this is it. It is definitely not the nicest place we have stayed, but was acceptable and the price was right . Lees meer

We stayed at this hotel several years ago. Since then they have upgraded the quality of the finishes and furnishings. It is abviously an older property and there are still some rough edges. It is conveniently located off I95 and we were in downtown Boston within a half an hour each day. The food was mid-grade, but it was warm. I've had similar / worse […] meals at Fairfield Inns. The Bedford Plaza is a unique hotel. I felt that it met my needs for my stay of 4 nights and I would stay here again. Bathroom was fine. The 3 sided and 3 floor property has a center atrium over an inside pool with indoor parking. There is a free breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon , pancakes and small potato cubes plus , bowl of fruite salad, 4 cereals, […] toast, bagels, juice and coffee and somedays had hard boiled eggs and a microwave. The room had cable TV plus a small refrigerator. There were a couple of restaurants nearby. The minor points which didn't really bother me are (and in no particular order): have to mind the columns in the underground parking; outside of building is plain; there is an odor from the pool chemicals, room was decorated in dark colors. Hotel was clean, pool was great, pool closes to early, a little outdated, staff was great delivered us swim towels to the pool area. Carpet a little out dated but well worth the money. i have stayed at better hotels with crappier service. STAY IS RECOMMENDED. I was concerned about the mixed reviews of the hotel but it turned out well for us. I've stayed in less expensive hotels and I've stayed in better hotels, this hotel provided the best value of any US hotel I have stayed in. The pool is nice and the free breakfast had eggs, bacon, pancakes, bagels, doughnuts, etc. It appears that a family purchased a […] run down hotel and is working very hard to clean it up. There have been concerns about smoke smells. The hotel is near an air force base so I think they had issues with soldiers smoking in the rooms. They charge a fee if you smoke in the rooms and the no smoking signs are very prevalent, it seems they are working hard to correct the issue. Most of the carpet is new and the paint is fresh. There's a good BBQ place across the street as well as a Friendly's, McDonalds and a Chinese restaurant. Lees meer

We were travelling to Boston/Cambridge for one week and we found this hotel not very far from the city center. After reading various reviews, while being a bit hesitant, we eventually decided to choose this hotel/motel for our stay. Happily, it turned out pretty well. It had everything we needed (plus a pool!) and the overall quality wasn't that bad. […] I'm a very picky person when it comes to where I'm staying, but I have to say that this place didn't let me down at all. If you have a car, it's close to the highway and if you are going to use public transportation with one bus you can get to the Red Line Subway Station in about half an hour. The only two minus points are (1) The quality of its breakfast; after a few days it gets a bit boring. If you want you can always go to the nearby restaurants for a better breakfast (2) The smell of the pool's chlorine; because it's an indoor swimming pool and all the rooms open up to this pool, you are always in contact with this smell! The hotel really needs a lot of updating and maintenance. The maintenance issues made it seem not as clean as it was. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was too small, and I found the area of the toilet very tight, if you're not a small person. the pool area was very nice, and breakfast was OK, but never warm enough, not even […] at 7:30 (1/2 hour after it was served). All in all, for the money, it was fine for a couple of nights, but I think they could get a lot more out of it if they just had some good maintenance people. Stayed there for one day. It was cheap and it was actually best value hotel I have been for years. Near perfect , only if the cook do enough for the brekkies in the morning ( he had to top on regular basis), as some idiots were loading up and taking food out of the hotels, or in the rooms.
