Hotel De la Ville - A SINA Hotel in Milaan

28 July 2012, We stayed at the the hotel for 4 nights. The first 2,5 days the "pool" was out of order. The pool however is a very very small and there is only room for about 6 chairs. The Sauna was out of order during our entire stay. The safe in our room was broken also. The location is perfect; very close to the Duomo and the main shopping areas. […] The staff behind the reception are very arrogant and not friendly and helpful at all. I loved the location of this hotel. Just a block from the Duomo, shopping and numerous restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back to this hotel again.

The beds were a disappointment, the mattress was old and uncomfortable, The room was far too hot and the air conditioning was not working or on either. We had to open the windows. The bed mattresses really need to be replaced, but overall the standard of the service and supplies provided in the rooms was very good for a 4* hotel. Perhaps the hotel overall was a little bit "tired". But the service was good. The Breakfast was wonderful with a good enough variety. The location is great !! just about a five minute walk from the Duomo. It wasn't particularly easy to find but we asked locals where the street was and then found it quickly enough. A very nice hotel in a great location. We only had a couple of nights in Milan and this hotels location allowed us to see all we wanted with little fuss. Typical Europe rooms. Quite small but very functional

Excellent location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Only let down was the pool - it was outside and we wanted to relax by it after a hard day of shopping - but we couldnt!! We wanted to borrow an iron and we had to pay for that! Breaskfast was really nice. Overall a very good hotel, but you could get another hotel for a lot cheaper!

Great hotel exactly as website showed. Fantastic location 2 mins to dome, shopping and la scala - everything in walking distance. fabolous staff really helpful. Roof top terrace was an oasis when it was 41 degrees. I would definitely stay here again

As a family with three kids age 15, 13 and 11 we truly enjoyd the friendly hospitality, sevice and great breakfast. Very convenient location - even got a public parking house across the road.

Beds need to be tested and replaced accordingly. Mine was like a hammock ! We had booked a deluxe room and felt that the standard was disappointing. The hotel ran well but only just earns its 4 stars, probably because of its excellent location.

The only issue I had with the Hotel was that although it had Air Conditioning it was not turned on and this made the room very uncomfortable

We were pleased with the location and although the room was not huge it was all you need for a city break with all comforts beihg taken care of. The whole hotel was spotless and the breakfast offered a good choice. The pool area was a bit disappointing as it filled up quickly, due to the excellent weather we had. The staff (especially Adrian the concierge) […] were friendly and polite with the exeption of one or two reception staff who appeared to be standoffish. I am alerting others to the dangers of diving into the so called swimming pool at this hotel. Beware it is not actually a pool, but more like a fish pond. the real problem is that you cannot see the bottom as it is a murky dark green colour and the water is only about 18 inches deep all the way from one end to the other. In other words there is no shallow […] and deep end. My husband dived in as he usually does without checking the depth, expecting it would be like most swimming pools and have some depth to it, BUT BEWARE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, as it is like a fish pond really. I do not know how they get away with calling this a swimming pool. ALSO there was no signage to warn people of the lack of depth,which we found quite amazing, as all other hotel pools have some sign to indicate the depth. Also disappointing was the small and dirty shower that accompanied the pool. Good supply of clean white towels though. The breakfast was most unappealing, and was the wi fi charge, and we had to go down to front desk to log off to avoid extra charges, as staff could not advise over phone when we could not log out automatically. Location is excellent. Steps from the Duomo, and all shops. Hotel is clean, breakfast is good. The staff is very helpful, and all of them have a service mind attitude. Could not be any better. The room size is small but do-able. Just typical European hotel room size.

This hotel is in a perfect downtown Milano location, just next to the Duomo, shopping and some of the best restaurants in the world. The staff are wonderful. Very professional and helpful. The only concern we have is the room. The bed was very old and uncomfortable with worthless pillows. The room was also very very hot with the AC on high. The hotel had an intimate European flavor. The staff was nice and good humored. Our only problem was that the directions from the desk to go to the airport were not right. i would reccommend the hotel.

My sister and daughter checked in with a reservation made at Hotels.com. We have done this countless times before with no problem, except on this occasion. Front desk clerks were unaware of the booking, we even gave them the booking number and they still looked confused. 20 minutes later and after a insulting remark from one of the male lead clerks […] telling my sister that if she continued to mix her spanish with italian as she was a little rusty being her first day in Italy, we were told that we had to pay for the hotel rooms. They even went so far as to say i booked it on expedia, when in fact i had booked on Hotels.com. Very frustrating and even made my sister come to tears as she was rudely insulted that she should just use either Italian or English because Spanish is NOT a langauge. At this point if i had a phone to call customer service, i would have cancelled my stay but international calling is a task in itself. So we bore through it and stayed in an average room. Photos are misleading, pool is not even in the sun and price for internet access, even for 1 hour is highway robbery. I would not recommend staying here, many more options to choose from. Lees meer

This is a definite four star Hotel. The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They speak very good English and very pleasnt to be around. I woud highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I will hopefully going back their next year. The lcation is perfect right downtown amongst the fashion centers

Beliggenheden er absolut perfekt - lige i hjertet af Milano - 2 min. gang fra Domkirken og lige ved siden af Rinacentre. Shopping, restauranter og barer er der også masser af i de omkringliggende gader. Da der ikke var flere standardværelser tilbage da vi bookede, blev vi nødt til at tage et superior værelse som lå på 5. sal ved "poolen" som er meget […] lille og lav. Der var meget fredeligt og værelset var moderne og i meget god stand. Madrassen var dog ikke fantastisk. Servicen er ikke så smilende generelt og lidt sløv/uorganiseret ved morgenmadsrestauranten. Bestil din kaffe så snart du møder op. Men de ting kan man sagtens leve med, med den beliggenhed. Der er et meget hyggeligt barområde på Hotellet, med gamle møbler. Jeg ville bo der igen pga. beliggenheden og værelsesstandarden. Lees meer

Vi hade lyckan att få rum nr 536 som har en magnifik balkong med utsikt mot Duomons torn!!.Rummet i härlig gammal stil som vi älskar och med allt modernt därtill. AC:n perfekt. Underbar Staff. Sagolik frukostbuffet. Servicen strålande. Vi rekommenderar detta härliga hotell till alla som tycker att ett hotell betyder mycket för resan!!!! L'hotel pubblicizza sul sito internet una zona benessere. Premetto che tale servizio e' stato il motivo per cui ho scelto il "de la ville". Ho chiesto alla reception se la zona saune era accesa e mi viene dato riscontro positivo. Arrivo, in accappatoio, nella zona "benessere" e trovo la sauna spenta. Mi informo e mi viene detto che il più delle volte […] e' rotta. Quindi una signorina addetta ai massaggi tenta di accenderla. Dopo circa 45/60 minuti la sauna raggiunge una temperatura accettabile al che ci entro. Dulcis infundo la panca interna della sauna e' rotta costringendomi ad una seduta laterale e scomoda. Alla fine della tanto sospirata sauna mi faccio una doccia fredda e successivamente cerco un lettino o qualcosa di simile per rilassarmi un po'....."niente"!! All'hotel de la ville ci si rilassa in piedi!! Piccolo suggerimento: la zona benessere meglio che la togliate dai vostri servizi, genera false aspettative. Lees meer

Vraiment décue par la propreté de la chambre: J'ai trouvé dans ma chambre près du mini bar une bouteille d'eau vide ainsi qu 'un paquet de chips qui ne m'appartenaient pas et ai du le signaler à la réception pour etre sure qu ils ne me soient pas facturés. Par ailleurs j'ai mentionné également une importante tache de graisse à l'intérieur de la porte […] d'entrée de ma chambre ( sans doute du au graissage récent du groom de la porte ) mais à mon départ 3 jours après la tache n'avait toujours pas disparue ! Enfin la piscine sur le toit offre certes une jolie vue sur le duomo, malheureusement la faible profondeur ne permet pas de faire quelques brasses sans se cogner les genoux ! Lees meer

Die Lage des Hotels ist super, 3 Minuten zum Dom, und auch sonst ziemlich zentral (Metro direkt am Dom. Das Personal beim Frühstück ist ziemlich unaufmerksam, eine Begrüßung frühs gab es auch nicht, aber was soll's. Achja, beim Brot-Anspruch darf man auch nicht verwöhnt sein! Der Pool hat nur 80 cm Wassertiefe, also nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet.

(+) Excellent location – 100 m from Duomo and Galleria. Some good restaurants very close to the hotel. Tasteful breakfast, coffee is made as you like. (-) Strange smell from the bathroom – sewer? Air condition in my room was not possible to adjust – noisy and cold. Staff in reception desk is not attentive enough.

Got there with my husband for a week get away. Not the one returning, not as bad still. Main problem, every little detail cost, for example, no iron/ iron table available, and could say costy iron service. And if you wish to swim (we did), be aware that that the pool is 80 cm deep, otherwise the roof terace is nice, not that big though.

出張で使用しました。会社へも中心地へもアクセスがよかったため選んだのですが、時期的なものなのか宿泊費が高めに感じました。 部屋は清潔で朝食もそれなりのバリエーションがあったので快適に滞在できました。 Wifiが有料なのが改善ポイントですかね。
