Conrad Dublin in Dublin

Het Conrad is een geweldig hotel met een heerlijk ontbijt. Goede lokatie, aardig personeel. Ideaal als je in de National Concert Hall moet zijn, want die is aan de overkant. Eigenlijk maar één minpuntje en niet eens echt belangrijk: de oude tv op de kamer...

Wij verbleven 5 nachten obv logies ontbijt in een junior suite. We boekten een 50% korting op het tarief, anders zou ik het wel erg duur gevonden hebben. Het Conrad Hotal behoort tot de groep van Hilton Hotels (meest luxe categorie). 5 sterren hotel, zonder zwembad (dat is wel jammer bij 5 sterren), verder alles prima. Over het algemeen een ouder (bejaard) […] publiek in het hotel, lekker rustig dus, maar wel saai. Sfeer in het hotel verder wat standaard: 'echt hotel-achtig'. Van de faciliteiten van het hotel hebben we verder geen gebruik gemaakt, behalve room-service voor het ontbijt. Prima ontbijt, volledig naar wens te kiezen, zeer uitgebreid, vers fruit, cappucino, je hoeft maar te bestellen. Dat alles voor slechts 5 euro extra kosten. Aanrader!! Ligging van het hotel is prima, net ten zuiden van alle drukte, daardoor soms iets verder lopen (geen bezwaar), maar wel de zekerheid van een rustige nacht; en dat is lekker, zeker in Dublin. We had a great stay at the Conrad hotel in Dublin. The rooms are lovely, it's in an indeal location (couple of minutes walk from St Stephen's greeen) and generally great service. The only thing I would fault was our waitress at breakfast. She was clearly in a bad mood and was quite abrupt and unhelpful. We stayed for the weekend of St Patrick's Day, which was at the end of a weeklong excursion around Ireland. The hotel has all the comforts you'd expect of a high-end Hilton hotel - big comfy beds, nice bathroom, good room service, nice bar/lounge (though the population was a little older) and best of all, very friendly and helpful staff. I booked this room for our wedding anniversary as it was 5 star. It is right in the city centre and the lobby and outside the buidling are very impressive. I booked a room and was offered an upgrade to a deluxe on arrival but I stuck with what I booked. This room is no different from loads of 3 stars I have stayed in and I have to say I was disappointed. […] The price did not justify what should have been a lovely stay but we did not eat as breakfast was 21 euro and I felt this was too much. Very friendly and helpfull staff. I could not fault the hotel.

The staff at The Conrad were extremely pleasant and helpfull. They were so nice, made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is really good, good food, nothing processed. Would highly recommend. Jane

Impressed with hotel, rooms had a old feel and were very nice as the one we stayed in had very high roof. Only issue was Pay TV was flat fee of 15EUR, couldnt pay for individual films etc. Overall impressive

The hotel was alright, had higher expectations because there will be a five star hotel. The room was pretty bad to be a suite. And would have expected better treatment by the staff. Restaurant and bar were very good though.

Great service and staff and nice rooms. The foyer and restaurant is normal enough, not spectacular. It's a good city business hotel.

We stayed in the Conrad on the 6th & 7th of January and had a lovely stay, it is an excellent location close to Stephen's Green. They were working on the Bar & Grill which caused some noise in the Bar area but that was due to be completed by Monday the 9th of Jan. Will be back to check it out.

Excellent hotel all round. Staff were top class

Great hotel, very clean and tidy, wonderful helpful staff. Is close to most things, you can walk a lot of places in Dublin. It is close to the park which is beautiful as well.

Arrived at the hotel and found the underground carpark easily, parked the car and made our way up to reception. We had to wait a little at reception as there was only one receptionist on and 3 people waiting to be dealt with. When it came to our turn to check in we found the guy who was checking us in too clinical and professional. There was no warmt […] in his greeting, he told me that our room was on the 6th floor but never told us the room number. And we had to ask him where breakfast was served and what time it was at as he wasn't volunteering this information. The room was spacious, modern, and clean, very comfortable bed with plasma tv, most stations, cd player, radio, iron, mini bar. The bathroom had an abundance of cosmetics, bathrobes, slippers etc etc. The breakfast was a little disappointing considering it's a 5 star hotel. The buffet was only ok, luke warm some of it was. Upon checking out we got the same receptionist, and again he was cold and almost robot like in his dealing with us. There was no "how was your stay", or "was everything ok" as we have always got in other hotels. Maybe I got him on a bad weekend, but for a 5 star hotel it certainly wasn't 5 star treatment at the reception desk!!! Lees meer

I found the Conrad had a lot of hidden costs when I arrived. The carpark was an extra 15euro for one nite and the TV in the room could only be watched if an extra 20 euro was paid. In other hotels this is part of the service when you stay there. The cost was high enough in the first place. Top class hotel with all the amenities. Away from the chaos of Grafton street but close enough to walk. Gorgeous walk through Stephens Green in the morning. If you're in Dublin to get drunk this isn't the place for you. This is the place for the rest of you.

Great hotel, very curtious staff and great facilities

Great Location, very close to Grafton Street... Staff very friendly, stayed here for marathon weekend which was quiet busy, could not fault this hotel, would definately recommend staying here and will be back!

Had a lovely stay. Great breakfast. Very reasonable compared to other Hotel in city centre.

No good restaurants within walking distance. Fair food. Good room bur we would stay elsewhere next time

I left Dublin in 1980 and have spent the best part of 31 years in Vancouver Canada. I had forgotten that single beds even exits anymore so I was shocked as I tried to make a booking for a Dublin hotel as a 'single' that I was offered so many of these antiquated items. Conrad King bed was a welcome comfort after a 14 hour journey. Yest the tv is as outdated […] as the single bed in other hotels and there is no wi-fi in the rooms. They told me they are working on the latter which is just as well as none of my travel devices (netbook, iphone, ipad) can connect to a LAN. Great rate, great breakfast and excellent location. Air conditioner did not work properly, but the weather was nice, so not a big issue.

I am from Dublin and I make on average about 60-70 Hotel visits a year both professionaly and for personal reasons. I have to say the Conrad is in a fantastic location. I found the staff quire pleasant also. That said, this hotel is just redicolously over priced. First of all, the rates of this hotel in comparison to other simiar hotels of the same […] standard are unjustifiably high. Hotel Car Park charge is 15 Euro's a day and in room internet charge is almost 20 Euro a day. We ordered room service which was only half an hour wait however the quality of the food was awful. Another complaint was that the television set was small and uncomfortable to view from the bed because it was too close to the floor. I think the basis of my complaint is that the overall value for money factor. There is better value available in the other Hotels in the same area. I can't fault the staff or the location. Ultimately though, I won't be staying here again. It's more to do with my personal choice. By all means if you can afford the Hotel and you are not bothered about the high prices feel free to stay here. It certainly did not have the wow factor I was hoping for though. This was purley a treat for my wife. While we did not have any major complaints I just felt a bit ripped off really. Lees meer

My wife and I stayed overnight in the Conrad in Dublin. It was comfortable and pleasant for the most part, with an excellent breakfast. Three minor irritants: 1. A VERY old-fashioned TV in the room. 2. No wi-fi, and heavy charges for VERY old-fashioned broadband wired link-up. 3. The toilet needed insider knowledge to flush (press once to produce […] small trickle, release handle, press again to produce flush). I found the staff unfriendly. The cooked breakfast was very below standard. I was very disappointed.

A lovely stay in a lovely hotel, we got an amazing deal and found the rooms to be comfortable and clean. The hotels public areas were very nice. Unable to provide us with a twin room though! Not sure I would have felt it was worth more than we paid. Dublin was as always buzzing, we visited a few restaurants and saw Riverdance which was great.

Had 2-nights at the Conrad; location on face value (having not been to Dublin before) was fine, south west of Stephens Green - but found ourselves walking north (& east) of the green everyday. Found ourselves in the bar one day (when in Ireland...) with friends, next minute a local drunk wandered in off the street and joined our table! Where was the […] doorman? receptionist? bar staff? Also for this type of hotel I would have expected the Hotel bar to remain open until guests had finished - not the Conrad. Hotel around two o'clock (early for Dublin!) closes even if the bar is full. Room was nice, if not small. Decent bed and pillows. Bathrooms look dated. Not modern feel I was expecting. Breakfast buffet was average; good pastries let down by poor cooked breakfast (poor mans sausages & scrambles egg that had no egg in it), plus trays kept running out (as well as fruit juices not replenished). Receptions staff went through motion of checking in and checking you out - but lacked any real warmth and offered no extra value. For what we paid, I expected much more. But then again, its part of Hilton chain - so really just a plush motel. Will stick to boutique/ small chained hotels in future where you get what you pay for. Lees meer

The hotel is very nice and great place worthy of a 5 star. I would personally like to thank the concierge service in this hotel as one of the finest we have come across in Ireland. I had parked my car about 2 lanes away as i could not get across the confusing lanes and no entry points, but I was given a warm welcome at this hotel upon my check in and […] the head concierge also send me a very friendly man named Jim to help me pick up my car and he drove it himself all the way to the hotel for me ! ! On other 2 occasions also he proved very helpful. The concierge team here is very helpful , accurate and efficient. The rooms are very nice , elegant, clean and modern and gave a very nice sleep. The breakfast is also nice , but it is 30 euros extra for a couple. The building and lobby are also very elegant and well maintained. I liked the little extras like free shoe polishing done for you at night, complimentary 2 bottles of water every day etc. The cons are very insignificant like: About 10 minute walk to all major attractions and city centre. After having stayed at several hotels on a trip to Ireland/Scotland I feel the Conrad offers 5 star quality. We did have problems with the room temperature (too hot air conditioning not working). But the staff offered us a different room, a complementary bottle of wine and tried their hardest to meet our needs. I almost didn't book this hotel after reading a mediocre review-and I 'm glad I DID! attentive staff,clean,comfortable,elegant.I am a runner and the hotel had maps already planned out! I didn't eat at the restaurant because I wanted to try the local hotspots.I will book this hotel again on my next visit.you won't be disappointed either

The Conrad Dublin is a well situated hotel in South Dublin - but the 5 star rating is a little misleading. The hotel has all the amenities a major European city hotel would have, restaurant/bar, concierge, door attendances, ect. However, our room was a little less luxurious than I would think a 5 star hotel would be. The biggest complaint was the old […] fashioned box TV instead of a flat panel and the tv stand was lower then the height of the bed - so watching tv while in bed was really difficult. I took the ironing board out of the closet and set the tv on that. The location of this hotel right off St. Stephen's Green made it incredibly easy to walk to shopping and pubs, if this hotel was in America, it would be a 3 1/2 - 4 star -- and I think it is important for Americans whose only frame of reference is an American style 5 star hotel to be aware this really isn't it. We stayed in this hotel the night before the Ladies Mini Marathon. Location was perfect for the race. We could not fault the hotel in any way. The room was spotless and comfortable. The food was good and the staff were most helpful.

Big rooms. Free internet in lobby. Lounge open late (3 am). 10 minute walk to nearby shopping/nightlife.

got great rate, early checkin no problem service and attention very good , very clean hotel, breakfast excellent, bed very comfy will definitely be back if rates stay affordable

Concierge staff in particular were very efficient and friendly. Rooms excellent with all facilities you would expect from a 5 star.
