Prima ligging, 6 minuten met shuttlebus van Airport. Leuk zicht op zowel Mnt Hood als Mnt St. Helens. Perfecte aanrijroute met behulp van navigatie. zowel vanuit Oost als West.

The Benson Hotel, A Coast Hotel ligt in het centrum van Portland, op loopafstand van O'Bryant Square en Pioneer Courthouse Square. In de buurt liggen ook Tom McCall Waterfront Park en Jeld-Wen Field.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant. Een draadloze internetverbinding is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 4-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel heeft 2 restaurants. Daarnaast is er ook een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een cateringdienst voor evenementen regelen. Elke 37-inch lcd-televisie heeft premiumkanalen via de kabel. Elke kamer beschikt over een bureau, een gratis weekkrant en een telefoon met meerdere lijnen met voicemail. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie, badjassen, een föhn en pantoffels.
Elke kamer is voorzien van een minibar en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een kluis en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals een koelkast, een magnetron en een turndownservice. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. Our stay at the hotel was awesome. The staff was very friendly and had alot of good info of things to do and where to go for good food. Hotel was in a good location and easy walking to a lot of places as parking is a little hard to find and if you dont want to walk, there are alot of cabs.

"The Benson in Portland - great spot, small window"
My husband and I stayed at the Benson recently while we stayed in Portland for a first time 3 night get away from the kids. I wanted our hotel to be luxurious and perfect. The Benson was just OK. We arrived and were able to check in early which was great. The room was clean and neat but was missing the "wow" factor I was hoping for. Someone had opened […] the safe and eaten a bunch of the candy and left a half eaten chocolate bar inside! Fortunately my husband checked, otherwise we probably would have been stuck with the bill. The bathroom was tiny. There was an old looking fan, but no switch for it. The tub was small and dated. We were on the 11th floor and there was some strange noise that went on about every half hour. At first we thought it was something to do with the elevator, we never did figure out what it was. It kept me up the first night, but we got used to it by the 3rd night. Otherwise though, the hotel was quiet. The location was great, the staff were kind and helpful. There was a terribly gaudy truck parked out front in the 15 minute hotel loading zone for most of our trip there painted with young vampire women killing animals with their teeth...not sure why that was allowed to stay there. Upon our check out, we were almost charged an extra night for parking because someone made a mistake. My husband didn't even notice the error but I knew we only stayed for 3 nights and didn't want to pay an extra $31 for parking that we didn't use! Overall, it was fine but as I looked at the Nines and the Lucia and the Vintage, I wondered what our experience would have been like there. Lees meer
"Beautiful Hotel"
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very nice too. My only complaint is that we had a Junior Suite near the service elevator and could hear the elevator run at night. Otherwise it was a great stay. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great too.

Our room was lovely, comfortable, and clean. Don't miss having an evening meal in "The Palm Court", lobby restaurant, if you are looking for a lighter late evening meal. A limited menu but excellently prepared. The crab salad, grilled wild mushroom sandwich, fish and chips were all excellent. Marvelous, unique cocktails (on the menu) are served to perfection. "Reliable"
This is the third time I've stayed at this location and find it to be comfortable and reliable. It's within walking distance of the transit, several resteraunts and stores, and the train.
"It was pretty okay"
The only things that were kind of annoying is they forgot to give me back my debit card after signing in so I had to go back and get it. Also I got charged 50$ extra on my bill for late check out even though we left at 11. There was really loud road construction that started at 6am which I am aware is not their fault but was really an unfortunate to […] the atmosphere of the stay. The Benson is still a fine, old hotel, but no longer the premier hotel in town. Coast Hotels, which now owns it, decided to close the restaurant so food and beverage service is consequently curtailed significantly. The wine list in the Palm Court has been pared down to the basics, where it had been quite impressive. However, the staff is very helpful […] and courteous. "Needs a good cleaning and some higher class guests"
The whole hotel needs a good cleaning and some maintenance. Our room had dirty fingerprints on the doors, dirty grout in the tiles, a broken window shade, a bathmat that look really scary, doors that would not shut property. The theme for the weekend seemed to be loud, drunk guests. We were "greeted" by a group of drunk men in front of the hotel when […] we arrived (while waiting ten minutes to see if there was really a valet), found empty beer cans in the hallway and in our elevator vesitbule on Saturday morning, had a party going on right down the hall from our room, had to work our way around a large wedding group in the lobby. We like a good party as much as anyone but this hotel seems to attract folks who want to PARTY. Staff is so-so. Range from adequate to surly. There are many other very lovely hotels within 3-4 blocks of this one. Would not recommend the Benson. Lees meer

Gorgeous hotel in a great area, close to museums, shopping, bars, clubs. The absolute only complaint I have was the service in the lounge. So SLOW! Took forever to get a drink the first night and so long for our waiter to come back that we gave up and went somewhere else. The next morning we didn't get coffee until our breakfast was gone! This is an old hotel, lots of wood. It's like staying in a very nice, expensive antique. I highly recommend the hotel, great service, very nice employees. Had a great stay. We always stay there on business. Centrally located to everything. Easy access with all our baggage. Room service needs a makeover though. Food just not exciting, service lacked a little.

Horrible service starting with Valet then front desk rooms old dirty, carpet smelled, walls dirty roll away bed looked 30 years old and they tried to charge us for it noisy no sound barriers between rooms could hear everything next door would have checked out early but holiday weekend everything else good was sold out horrible experience overall

I stayed at the Benson over the last weekend. The Hotel was a magnificient environment. I had a late dinner in the The Palm while they had live music and it was simply magical. The deluxe king room had nice amenities. The only problem I really had with the hotel was that the windows allowed too much sound into the room. I had a hard time sleeping because […] you could hear everyone down on the street...talking..laughing..etc. Other than this the hotel was a wonderful experience. If I were to stay again I would ask for a room higher than the third floor to maybe alleviate the road noise. Lees meer

I went for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend and the hotel was conveniently located right in downtown, we pretty much walked everywhere. the staff was very friendly. The best part was the temper -pedic mattress, it was heaven compared to our pillow top back at home. There were a couple of down-falls though, parking is 31 a night for valet and there […] is no street parking only garages. Also my boyfriend asked for a convenience store and the staff didn't really know of one around, Even though there was one right down the street. I was in Portland for a weekend and this hotel was a great place to be, we had dinner at el gaucho downstairs and food was exelent and the hotel very clean and most important very comfortable beds, I recommend this hotel to anyone that enjoy quality, comfort and clean rooms.

Flew my Mom to Portland from LA for her 75th. She loved the place! Comfortable, tastefully appointed rooms, old school details, affordable breakfast - it was a hit all the way around. "The rate was good., but"
At the rate that I paid, I had a room across from the ice machine and the stairs. It was really noisy and every time someone went out the door to the stairs it slammed and woke me up. Also noisy on the street side. The rate was ok, but not a great room.
The hotel was beautiful and dog friendly! The lobby was very inviting and elegant. Our room was a little on the small side but i was in another room and it was quite large. Ask to see the room first. I loved the location as it was close to shopping, restaurants, and art museum. Elegant and comfortable.

we got a room in the hotel for New Years Eve and were so satisfied with our experience. It was the perfect home base for us to go out to celebrate and then be at a safe place. They valet's were so helpful in getting us taxi's. We had a wonderful stay and a wonderful evening

One note of caution is that if you book through hotels.com, you need to pay attention to any cancellation policies in effect. Basically if you need to adjust your schedule, you need to do so well in advance of your stay even if it means shortening your trip one night. The Benson Hotel is wonderful. It is close to all of the wonderful sights of Portland. The staff is wonderful and the hotel itself is a grand building. It is also pet friendly. We have stayed twice and will stay here in the future.
