Lekker dicht bij het Vondelpark, met fiets het centrum in en heerlijk en supernetjes hotel. Aanrader!!

Ok, zeer net hotel. Doch een beetje simpel voor de 4 sterren. Alleszins zijn prijs waard !

Front of house were fantastic, so helpful. Location for us was perfect, just outside main areas but a nice walk or short tram ride away .

a good hotel in a quiet area 40 mins to centre or 1 hours walk to centre on the van gough and rhys museum on the way to centre friendly staff good food i would recommend it to anybody

Absolutely lovely and comfortable hotel, with great service. However, being a young visitor looking to visit amstrdam for the nightlife, it was VERY far from the city centre. Do not be fooled about the distance!

Comfi bed and great pillow in a clean room. Yet the double bed is small. Not big enough for 2 people. The rooms are smaller than a shoe box and the hotel is old and pretty run down. Good hotel located at Jordaan. But, please be aware to check your sheets before using them, once I think cleanliness is not the highest priority for the administration. They are not good at cleaning the carpet, curtains or changing the sheets, pillow cases etc. In addition, while I was there, one of the new guests has gone to the reception to complain […] about a hair she found in the sheet that definetely wasn't her own hair due to the different color. Although my room was small, it was meant only for a single person. The surrounding neighborhood is mostly residential so it's very quiet. It is located near a tram stop, but the location is VERY inconvenient when you're out near Dam Square past midnight. Almost every night, I had to take a 15 euro cab ride back to the hotel (expensive for every night!!) […] The service is great. The housekeeping does great work. Very clean room. Also included a fridge, which I was ecstatic about. The bar and restaurant are very small, but the service is great. This is a sweet, friendly, neighborhood small hotel. The Staff were gracious and welcoming. I accidentally poured myself a coffee from the Business Center (unknowingly!) and the Staff member kindly mentioned that particular coffee was for Business Meetings! Easy tram ride to center of town. it is a nice hotel but it was expensive for what you got. no breakfast included which was disappointing and the coffee near reception was for staff only and not hotel residents which we were not informed about until after we made a coffee and asked to pay 2.50 for it. We were rang to see if we wanted house keeping which we did and agreed a time but […] they came 20 minutes early before we had left the room and didnt come back once we left the room. They were pushy for us to get out the room for house keeping to come in everyday. They also told us we had to pay a 50 euro deposit when we got their which we didn't know anything about and when we came to get it back when checking out they decided to tell us that we had to pay city tax out of the deposit which worked out to be 20 euro's so we only got back 30 of the 50 euro's which was all a bit out the blue as they didn't mention this when they took the deposit. Beware: some of the rooms in this hotel lay next to a noisy chimney, so if you are unlucky enough to get one you would better ask for a room change. I did and without further explanations I got changed; no problems at all, and the staff being very polite all the time. After this, the stay was exceptional. I only booked into this hotel as my other hotel was booked out on the weekend. The staff were pleasant and my room was nice. Free wifi is always a good bonus as well. As far as location it is a nice area and a short 5 minute tram ride to the city centre. We stayed here for 2 nights in August. Hotel was in a good location near opera house, with a bus close by for the airport. Hotel room was very big and clean. Appeared to be very quiet in hotel, service was good

The staff at this hotel were genuinely pleasant and helpful and they went beyond the call of duty to assist us. They give good local information and will book tours for you if you wish at reception, a lot of the bus companies will pick you up from the hotel. We saved money by booking a Canal Trip with the hotel. Likewise by getting your museum tickets […] from the hotel you don't have to queue (and most had a long queue) you can go directly in. Great to have free access to a computer in reception to book tours, print off boarding passes etc. We were advised to book tickets for the Anne Frank House on line as soon as we arrived and we avoided a 2 hour queue by doing so. Unless you get breakfast as part of your package it can be pricey in the hotel itself, better to take a picnic to Vondel park, or have a coffee and pastry in a cafe all within 5 mins away. There are also some nice restaurants to eat within walking distance and we felt at ease walking after dark. The room itself was a generous size for us, 2 adults and one child. Proximity to Vondel Park, Albert Cuyp market and the Museum District is a plus. Trams and buses will bring you right into Dam Square and Centraal Station. You could walk it but if you are travelling with children they might find it a bit distant. We will be back !!!!! Lees meer

I wouldn't normally review a hotel, and this one wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great. I hardly slept because I could hear everything on the street and the walls were so thin that I could hear the guy next to me snoring. Then housekeeping started knocking early in the morning and kept coming back everything 30 minutes until I left. I'd also note […] that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The hotel was very nice... and everything new... in a very nice neiborhour close to the museums area and only 10 minutes by tram to city centrum of ansterdam.

The Memphis Hotel is a real gem. In a quiet neighborhood a short walk from Amsterdam's museum square, the hotel offers convenient access to two tram lines that will take tourists to the heart of Amsterdam, while allowing you a quiet night's sleep away from the frenzy. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and always glad to lend a hand or […] just have a chat. They have tickets to several major attractions, such as the Van Gogh Museum--indispensable given how long the line can get. The room was a very nice size, which is saying a lot given the typical size of European Hotel rooms, and the bathroom comes with a marvelously deep tub. I cannot say enough about this hotel. As someone who travels often in and outside of the U.S., this is one of the nicer hotels I have stayed in. I heard that their typical room prices are a bit steep (but not for Amsterdam. Unless you plan to stay in a dive or a hostel, plan to spend some money on your hotel room) so look for their online special/ discount rates. Lees meer

The hotel is located near to two train and bus lines. Which makes it easy to get anywhere. Staff is friendly and very helpfully. The area is a little posh but not to bad. The only drawback is the bathroom but nothing to bad.

Good hotels are difficult to find in Amsterdam. This one has a lot of positives - nice location, close to the museums and Concertgebouw - with good public transport nearby. I would have given it a 5 - if it wasn't for the dubious whisky the barman served up.

Very clean room and the A/C worked great. Better than expected room was semi quiet as my room was on the street side but at times can be noisy. Employees where very friendly and helpful. Hotel is near major muesums the Rijks and Van Gogh and is an easy walk from the hotel.

Great location near the center and a good shopping district. Need to get the right rooms there as they vary in quality. Skip ones on the first floor! Initial room was not good and we asked to change and the replacement one was fine.

This wasn't my first trip to Amsterdam, but it was my first time staying at the Memphis Hotel. The hotel is situated with easy walking distance (15-20 minutes) to both the Van Gogh and Riks Museums. The "Leidersplein" is also within walking distance. Once you get accustomed to your surroundings its easy to find short cuts to the aforementioned museums […] from the hotel. Vondel Park is also nearby and offers a short cut to the "Leidersplein". The neighborhood near the hotel features some quaint breakfast cafe's, bar's, shops, and eaterys. I ate breakfast out every morning near the hotel because the hotel prices were somewhat expensive. Amsterdam is full of great restaurants and the "Liedersplein" is home to many of them. The only drawback to the Hotel is the fact its on the opposite end of town from the main train station, and you'll need a cab to go to and from. The single rooms are very small, which is to be expected. The carpet in my room was in need of replacing, but that was the only downside to the room. The room's have A/C, which allows you to shut your windows at night to drown out the noise from the street traffic; i.e., autos, trams, people, etc. My bathroom appeared to be newly renovated. The great thing about Dutch TV is all the English speaking programs are in English with Dutch subtitles and the hotel had quite a few English TV channels (American/British). The front desk personnel were very cordial and went out of their way to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Lees meer

Hotel staff were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly. I arrived by car and parked on the street around the corner. I was able to leave my bags in the left luggage room and go and park the car in the park and ride at the Olympic stadium. This is 8Euro for 24 hours (much cheaper than leaving it on the street). I was […] able to explore the city until I checked in at 5pm. The hotel is right on tram 16 and only a short walk from tram 2. Getting into and out of town was very easy. Even at 2am getting back to the Hotel was ok on either the N70 or N71, both of which run right past the hotel. Breakfast was decent with a range of very fresh breads as well as bacon, sausage and eggs and beans. The room was good. Free wifi was of a reasonable speed though I couldn't get the wired internet to connect. Lees meer

Peeling paint, dirty glasses. Quiet. Will not stay there again. No shampoo.

This hotel beat out our hotels in London and Paris. Very clean, very comfortable beds, large room, friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again.

Located right next to tram 16 which you can take to see just about everything you need to see in amsterdam. Straight shot to central amsterdam. Only 2 minutes to the Van GoghMuseum and House of Bols. I had a douvle bed room which looked more like a queen size bed because it was just one piece, instead of two beds put together. Room was clean and comfortable. Very suitable for two people. The breakfast was amazing. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, beans, cereal and fruit. Probably one of the best breakfasts I've had at a hotel in a while. Overall experienc...... I arrived early in the morning and was happy to be able to check in then. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very pleasant although we didn't find the coffee pot until the last day (hidden in a drawer) and there were no toiletries other than one small bottle of shampoo. This was my 4th trip to Amsterdam, staying in different hotels each time - this is definately the best one yet. Rate was very good, location is close to Museums and easy reach of centre and station on Tram 16. Very near the park too. Would recommend the double room as single is a bit small.

We've been to Amsterdam a LOT and usually stay near Dam Square as it's central and so on... I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend and because we're training for a race at the moment I thought we'd stay nearer to Vondel Park. We came out of the train station (after a very windy landing-big dipper without tracks anyone? Haha) got onto the number […] 16 tram and arrived 200 yards or so outside the Memphis (the stop after the Van Gogh) the check in was friendly the room was lovely and clean, the bed was huge and all of the staff were nice. Location wise, it reminded me of Hyde Park Corner in London, classy and residential but near enough to the centre with bakeries, boutiques, a supermarket and a little coffee shop (which only sold coffee by the way). The coffee shop came in handy as there weren't any tea or coffee making facilities in the room, which for me, a complete caffeine addict, was a bit annoying :( We were 5 mins walk to the park which was great for a jog and we were a nice 10min walk to Liedseplein for shopping etc.. We were also really near to 2 dance schools, which is totally irrelevant, but as a dancer this excited me enormously! All in all it was a lovely stay, made fantastic by the hotel. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Museumplein. It is right on the tram line for the 16, which goes directly to central station. The neighborhood was quiet and clean, as was the hotel room itself. The bed was larger than I expected, and the bathroom was a fair size. Overall, very nice. I would stay there again.

The hotel was just out of the Centrum, but the neighbourhood was very nice and quiet. The hotel was very well maintained and the clean. The staff were helpful and spoke English. I would definitely stay here again next time I go to Amsterdam.

The people working there were very helpful and incredibly nice. The room was european size (small) but had everything you needed. Coffee maker, fridge, iron, safe, TV, internet, full size bath and comfortable bed. There is a restaurant and lounge as well as tickets to the attractions and bike rentals. What a surprise! Hotel was clean, good size rooms, beautiful neighborhood, local trams right outside, 12-15 minutes from train central station. Only sorry we did not have dinner at hote. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. We will return.

A bit far from downtown centre but trolley runs right by the hotel. Being away from downtown offers you a bit more solitude from masses that stay close to the Central Station. Meals were good. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.

I was more satisfied with the Memphis Hotel than I have been with any hotel in a long time. I arrived into Schiphol Airport at 8 AM from the US. I was at the hotel around 10 AM wanting to know if I could drop my bags off but was told my room was ready and I could have it. That was a pleasant surprise. This was a business trip, so I was only there for one night, but I returned the next week and checked in again. This time I was given a large room with a great terrace. You may want to request this room, #510. It was a fabulous room, and the cost was only a few euros more. Breakfast was not included and not a great value at 16 Euro. I had dinner there one night, and it was okay. I wouldn't make a point to eat there. But the service was great, and I'll stay there again. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood midway between the airport and the train station. You can pick up a tram pass real cheap, and easily take the tram downtown. Lees meer
