Prachtig Hotel met mooie kamers en een toppertje van een bed. Ontbijt is ook goed en de vriendelijkheid perfect. Echt een aanrader.

Het is een mooi hotel, goed verzorgde kamers, met een mooie badkamer. De ligging is ook perfect, aan de ene kant het strand en een zwembad, en aan de andere kant een klein winkelcentrum met leuke winkels en restaurants. Bij het hotel zelf is ook de Tikibar, waar je onder het genot van live muziek heerlijk kunt eten en de ondergaande zon boven de zee kunt zien. We hebben het enorm leuk gehad in dit hotel, een absolute aanrader!!!
Ligging.
South Seas Island Resort ligt aan een privéstrand in Captiva, dicht bij Alison Hagerup Beach Park en McCarthy's Marina. Turner Beach is een andere trekpleister in de ruime omgeving.
Accommodatievoorzieningen.
Slenter buiten over het witte zandstrand om helemaal tot rust te komen. Lekker een dagje luieren op het strand met parasols en ligstoelen. Een zomers verblijf in South Seas Island Resort betekent relaxt aan je swing werken op de golfbaan of een verwenmiddag doorbrengen in de volledig uitgeruste spa.
Dit appartement heeft 7 restaurants. Daarnaast is er ook een koffiebar/café. Andere voorzieningen bij dit appartement met 4 sterren zijn onder andere een kinderclub, een buitenzwembad en een healthclub. Gasten kunnen gratis parkeren.
Hotelkamers.
Elke kamer heeft een balkon. South Seas Island Resort heeft 465 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een cd-speler en een kluis. Alle bedden hebben driedubbele lakens en luxe beddengoed. Elke kamer is voorzien van een draadloze internetverbinding.
Elke televisie heeft kabelzenders, gratis filmkanalen en een dvd-speler. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie, een föhn en gratis toiletartikelen.
Elke kamer is voorzien van een koelkast en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een gratis krant en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag in rekening worden gebracht.

"Goed resort in paradijsje"
De omgeving is geweldig, Witte stranden, prachtige zee, activiteiten genoeg. Zelf hebben we een jetski gehuurd. We deden dit voor het eerst, zeker een aanrader. Personeel was vriendelijk. Na het lezen van commentaren op verschillende sites hielden we ons hart vast voor de accomodatie. Het klopt dat de inrichting wat gedateerd is, iets wat je niet verwacht […] voor deze prijs, je zou het graag wat meer tot in de puntjes verzorgd willen zien, maar veel is er niet mis mee. Prachtig om de manatees in de haven te zien (zeekoeien) en het eten in het havenrestaurant is prima. We hadden wel behoorlijk last ven vliegende mieren (of waren het nu muggen). Zwarte beestjes met een rood kopje iets kleiner dan onze mug en ze beten. Geen idee of dat aan de periode of de locatie lag. In Orlando zaten ze later ook, in naples, miami en key west hier geen last van gehad. Lees meer

The resort itself is beautiful and offers many things to do. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Most of our requests were answered promptly. We had two condos in the Tennis Villas area, each with four people staying in them. They were sparsely furnished, especially in the kitchens, where there were not enough eating utensils in one unit. The sleeper […] sofa in one unit could not be opened up, even by one of the staff. It was broken and not usable. We had to have roll-away bed, which only slept one person. We have been to this resort several times and each time we go we wonder why we ever go anywhere else. Long stretches of almost private pristene beaches backed by low rise condos or private beach houses. The grouns of this enromous property are always immaculate and a real pleasure just to be in. Accomodations are first rate from the simplest one bedroom […] suites to the large beach homes. Suitable for couples and great for families. "Captiva FL South Seas Resort- AWESOME!"
Beautiful grounds, convenient location. Dolphins swim right near the dock. This place is perfect if you want to check in and enjoy the beach, sun and sand. Fantastic set up. Heated pools, beautiful beach, trolley rides every 15 minutes. Children loved it too. We will be back!
"Fun but away from rest of Captiva"
Nice, spacious very clean rooms and very friendly staff. We walked out on our porch only to see a manatee in the water in front of us! Only downside is that to get "off the resort" requires a bit of a drive.

Great hotel in a beautiful setting. A true paradise.. On a two hour walk my wife an i saw 25 different types of birds, manatee, and dolphin. Recommend you stay more than one night
"Doesn't live up to its polished website."
The facility has been refurbished, but the tacky is just a layer away. Example: wall phone had no plate behind it just a screw protruding from the wall to hang it on. The $15/person/day resort fee was something I didn't see listed in their online information. We stayed by the tennis courts which was very nice and a good value. We checked out the units by the beach. The ones we checked out by the beach were not that close and thought the tennis courts were a great value in comparison. Very well maintained property, rooms and great food in the restaurants. The water park with the water slides were great for […] the kids and again the grounds were very well kept. Seashells on the beach were a treat. "A Little Too Quiet, A Little Too Loud"
My husband and I minus our two kids came down for a quick weekend away in Feb. We felt that the reaort was too quiet in that after 7pm there was nothing to do on the resort except have a drink in the one open restaurant. We had to go into town to find a bar. On the other hand, the resort was too loud in that the Beach Villas where we stayed were rude […] family central with kids crying on balconies and retirees blasting radios on their decks while we were trying to enjoy our (store purchased) glass of wine on our balcony at about 9pm. Hotel staff were very attentive to our complaints I will say. Regardless, even tho beaches are beautiful, this was just not the right mix for us, with or without kids. Lees meer
"If you want to be...."
at the end of civilization this is the place. 300 acres at the end of an island, one way in and out, lots of privacy. Major kudos to the maid staff, left my safe wide open with lots of cash etc, and nothing walked off. Only complaint is that there is not bar service on the beach, next time I'll plan for it :-)
Thank you for sharing your experience. The bar at Sunset beach is open until sunset and we will look at the opportunity to add a server on the beach. I know we have tried it in the past and it was not utilized very much but we are all for trying again.

"Great location - full service resort"
We really enjoyed our stay. The villas have a lot of space and beautiful views. It is nice that there are a few large pools for the whole resort and then smaller ones for the various villa units. Great location at the tip of beautiful Captiva! The staff was very nice too.

We stayed in a one bedroom beach villa. We felt as though we were in Paradise! The sunsets were spectacular....our entire stay was perfectly relaxing. Our villa had been updated and was quite clean. The king bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have had in any resort. We were within walking distance to the front desk, Starbucks, convenience store […] and the beach. At the same time, we could easily get to the northern part of the resort by car, walking, bicycle or tram. Although you do pay a $15/day fee per person at this resort, we felt our money was well spent. Lounge chairs and umbrellas were provided at no "additional" charge. Every employee that we encountered was polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We were traveling with friends who had small children....they stayed in a bayside villa. Although it was nice, we enjoyed our view more because of the sunsets. Every restaurant we tried at the resort (and on Captiva or Sanibel) was incredibly "child-friendly". We will definitely return to this paradise! Lees meer
"South Seas"
Beautiful setting, lots to do, large comfortable rooms. Towels smelled bad. Main restaurant overpriced. Room rates very reasonable, however, and overall, a great place to go. A stay shorter than 2-3 days is a waste.
We have reviewed both internal laundry and external laundry sources to ensure the proper chemicals are being used to prevent any variance to our standard of clean and fresh towels. We are always reviewing our menus and pricing to ensure we are providing what our customers want as well as a quality product at a fair price.

I booked a "one bedroom VILLA" and what I got was two previous hotel rooms put together to make one "villa". I also booked a villa with a bay view.... yeah there was a view of a old sinking building that the resport has roped off. I was not happy to hear that we HAD to pay $15 dollars extra per person for use of the pool or beach chairs.... which we […] did not even touch. Our Bayside Villas were never hotel rooms, even though the front bedroom had the ability to be closed off from the rest of the unit and entered separately. The units have a full kitchen and screened lanai which is not a normal hotel room set up. The "sinking building" use to be a retail outlet in our marina and on Jan 5th actually took on water and sunk to the bottom of the marina. As you can imagine removing the building with all state and local authorities involved to protect the mangroves as well as the marina life is not as quick process but is the process we choose. As for outlet pricing we are always reviewing and updating our menus and pricing, with the current trend in price increases that both consumers as well as commercial are experiencing we are looking at better engineering our menus to be able to deliver quality food at reasonable prices.

Fantastic hotel and resort on floridas gulf coast. The real luxury is the location. We loved the beaches and the fantastic landscaping. Great hotel for both relaxation and active sports life. Golfbanan är fantastisk. Just nu rankad bland topp 5 kortbanor i världen. Det märks. Beautiful island, the resort is ok. Not quite what I expected for the price. The villas are apartments and the furnishings were old and dirty, the room wasn't clean. The resort does provide towels and chairs but almost everything else is for a fee. I was hoping for nicer accommodations for the price. The service is fair.

A very diverse hotel between the varying facilities and amenities offered. The property is very nice - beaches, pools, docks, landscaping, etc. Food is on the lower quality side - similar to a chain restauarant which is not horrible but the expectations were higher from a resort. I'm very very happy that I booked this place. When I arrived, i received a bottle of wine and $75 voucher for food. I was confused at first when I was given a map of the resort. Turned out that the resort owns the last 3.3 miles of the Captiva island! The room is very clean, nicely furnished with a kitchen and a screened porch. You can rent a bike to […] go to the ocean, or explore the Sanibel island. You can also take the shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes inside the resort. There is a nice golf course by the ocean and the view is gorgeous. I'd love to visit this resort again. Lees meer

if you want to relax and enjoy beach and tropical environment this place is a dream. very very relaxing with the possibility of being active as well with all the activities offered. we will be back but for a longer period of time.

Everything about the facilities is great. My only complaint is that during this time of year (October) all the restaurants and bars close by 10pm. The Beach bar even closed at 5pm. Way before sunset. Even the places off property closed at 10pm. Even when there were people at the bar watching the Baseball playoffs (in this case it was The Green Flash […] - a place just off the property)! Lees meer

Resort was great. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a great family vacation and I would highly recommend. We plan on going back next summer.

This resort had many amenities but failed to keep my teens entertained.Too old for the water slides and too young for the jet skis. The organized teen activities were a bust! Be ready to pay extra for most of the things you get for free at the all inclusive resorts. Saturday night did not even have music at the main restaurant / bar area. We stay here frequently with our kids. We love South Seas and Captiva in general. We love that Captiva is smaller than Sanibel and more remote, yet still offers good restaurants and beaches. All of the units at South Seas are condo-style with full kitchens and living areas. We bring a cooler and groceries and save money on snacks, breakfasts, and lunches. […] The hotel restaurants are good, especially for lunch. For date-nite dinner, we like to go to the Mucky Duck or Green Flash. Our kids loved the waterslide, multiple pools, game room, and dolphin cruise. Wonderful place to stay! Lees meer

"The Souths Sea Island Resort in Captiva Island."
This place is more than you can imaging. Beautiful beach, pools, friendly staff and service. Recommendation: Mosquito repellent at all time.
"Amazing place terrible service"
We arrived at 10:30PM and had to wait for desk service / even though their was no one in line..very odd with 2 people on duty... no offer of assistance with bags...no luggage carts at the elavators. 85% humidity and I was soaked by the time I finished with the bags. We stayed 4 nights and the staff never cleaned the room one time... 4 days never used […] the resort facilities except their BBQ sports bar and games / almost all of the games were broken....BBQ was poor quality.....my service fees for not using anything were 180.00 for 3 people for 4 days.... the one day we went to the hotel beach my wife asked for an umbrella and chair and the attendant said she should wait for someone to leave and then take theirs....the couple people who left he wrapped up their gear and stacked it for the night...very rde. the service fee of 180.00 was worth maybe a dime. Motel 6 is a better run hotel however dolphins were swimming close to shore and we saw manatees twice. I would not stay at this hotel again / I would look elsewhere in Captiva. Lees meer

South Seas Island Resort is a wonderful resort: You have a nice beach, you can play Golf, etc. etc. The restaurant "Harbourside Bar and Grill" wasn't that good as expected: very loud and not so cleaned as the surrounding.

I had a great time at this hotel. The resort was beautiful and I felt like I had found pardise. Our room (one bedroom tennis villa) was beautiful, clean and spatious. I probably wouldn't have booked this resort though without the summer escape deal because originally it was a little out of the price range we wanted to spend. My only complaint about […] this hotel is that I felt like I was supposed to tip everyone for whatever little thing. Even the bike rental guy ( who was not that friendly and gave us a bike with a flat tire and was nowhere to be found when we went to get it fixed) had a tip jar out... Lees meer

"Great Hotel!"
My girlfriend and I had a great time at the hotel. The room looked amazing and the service was great. The deadbolt lock on our door was broken, but other than that we had no complaints. The complimentary chairs and umbrellas were a little thing, but they went a long way for us. All the restaurants and stores were great and the service was friendly and […] exceptional. Hotel is old and needs repair. We got to room and front door was all damaged Inside old furniture tiles in bathroom where uneven Bedroom had a water damaged ceiling Felt like a motel 6 at a Ritz Carlton price
