I like staying here, since the room is nice and I know the city quite well.

HEt hotel ligt midden in het centrum van San Fransisco, vlak bij de straten waar het allemaal te doen is. We vermoeden dat ze tegen de schilder hebben gezegd dat hij alles moest schilderen. Dit heeft hij dan ook gedaan. Inclusief ramen, deurknoppen en sloten. Dit maakt de kamer wat rommelig en niet netjes. Het is een echt stadshotel. Dit betekent dat de kamers niet heel groot zijn, maar groot genoeg voor ons om met zijn vieren, 2 volwassenen en twee tieners, comfortabel in te verblijven. Het hotel heeft een gedateerde uitstraling. Wij hadden het geluk om in nieuwe ingerichte kamer te verblijven aan de achterzijde van het hotel (6e verdieping). De kamer […] was zeer smaakvol ingericht met goede bedden, koffiezetapparaat, flatscreen en wekkeradio waarbij je je smartphone kon opladen. Badkamer is zeer compact maar functioneel. Het baliepersoneel en de concierge zijn zeer behulpzaam. Het hotel ligt perfect. vlakbij Union Square. Een walhalla voor shopverslaafden. Ook de historische tram heeft hier zijn startpunt. Alle bezienswaardigheden, Fishermanswarf, Lobardstreet, Alcatraz etc zijn te bezoeken door in de buurt van het hotel op het openbaar vervoer te stappen. Het hotel serveert geen ontbijt. Nagenoeg naast het hotel zit een zaak waar je heerlijk kan ontbijten en iets daarvoor nog een een klein Japansrestaurant waar je heerlijk kan dineren. Lees meer

Prima kamer, heerlijk bed, legio mogelijkheden voor ontbijt in de buurt (probeer Mel's Diner steak breakfast, belachelijk groot!).

Location of hotel was on the same block as the main shopping area of Westfield's, and a short walk from Union Square and China Town (other main shopping areas). The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Service staff were friendly and met expectations.

Close to union square and short travel to most tourist spots, not the best neighbourhood after dark. Good staff, decent hotel bar, no complaints overall, enjoyed my stay

Our hotel room was very cold. I lowered the thermostat, but that didn't seem to help warm up our room. Also, there were no curtains to draw to have privacy, just sheers! The homeless people sleeping on the top steps of the building across the street could look in!

This hotel is old but well-maintained. The bed is comfortable and room is clean. However, my room has very tiny bathroom.

Hotel is clean and comfortable but needs a bit of a face lift - cracked vanity etc. It was good value and the hotel was consistent with the price. It is a fair stretch of the imagination to call the Soma restaurant such - it is more like a diner but there are reasonable places within walking distance where the selection of food is wider and better

My room was absolutely filthy and poorly maintained. Bathroom was disgusting. Shower did not function properly. No A/C. Smelled moldy. Street noise. Paper-thin walls. This building should be gutted.

Staff was very friendly, room was nice, a little dated but it's an older hotel and has nice character. We were very comfortable here and would stay again.

The room was very comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful. Went out of their way to get us a town car to go back to the airport instead of those crazy cab drivers.

We had one of the best times ever in the city. We were close to just about everything we wanted to do. The staff was friendly. The only negative comment we had was our shower flow. That wasn't to our liking but it wasn't so horrible that we couldn't shower. We are just a bit picky about that. I will definitely consider The Pickwick when we come back […] in July for a week. Pickwick was reasonably priced, close to Moscone and Yerba Buena. The room was clean and pretty. Bathroom was messed up. You could only get blistering hot water from any of the spigots. And there was no shower head on the pipe in the shower. Never got fixed in a three day stay.

Recently stayed for two nights. Hotel is an old construction, but I found the room generally adequate and clean (there were a couple of spots on the sheet at the foot of the bed). Union Square does have an issue with having a lot of homeless around, but I didn't feel unsafe nor find it terribly burdensome. I found the Pickwick only because the newer hotel I usually visit for work was booked. The Pickwick has mojo and warmth, unlike newer hotels (which all seem to be leaning toward a more sterile, 'chic' vibe). Surrounding area was fantastic (shopping/food/ambiance) and the staff very helpful and thorough. My room was a bit smaller than the newer hotels […] b/c it's an older hotel - however, it was very clean, well designed, had cool wood features a nice TV, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. Only drawback is their wifi. Free is a great price, however it's pretty slow at best. I will absolutely be back! Lees meer

Really close to the Moscone Center, also close to parking garage and mall and some good burger joints. We had a nice view of some permanent bums though across the street, and the hotel itself had an older feel that needed a little bit of repair. Room needed painting and updating, uncomfortable desk cramped between wall and bed. I noticed that I was charged for water bottles that I did not drink. I complained and they removed the charge..

One of the worst hotels I've ever been to. Rooms were filthy so they switched me to a different room where the shower head didn't work. When I went to complain to the manager, she was not at all apologetic and offered to cancel my reservation - left as quickly as I could.

Really enjoyed staying at the Pickwick just a two blocks from the convention center. Everything was close by including the cable car to Chinatown. The resturaunt was great for breakfast every morning and they made sure we had a ride back to the airport in comfort.

The hotel was located closely to public transportation, restaurants, and the Westfield shopping center. It was easy to check in and out, and booking through this site made everything easy. However, when we got to the hotel, they gave us one bed instead of the two we had requested. Upon bringing this to the attention of the front desk, they promptly […] switched us to a room with two double beds. Unfortunately, we got the bedroom right behind the elevator, where we could hear it go up and down all day and night since there was no extra barrier between the elevator and our room. The bathroom and room were very clean and comfortable, with great amenities including an ipod deck radio, flat-screen TV, and sockets for chargers. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean. But the hotel had no hot water, so we were unable to shower and front desk tried to overcharge us for parking.

I loved the closeness of the hotel to convention center and city. Unfortunately, I was charged for a duvet which was uncalled for. Calls to the hotel and messages left at desk went unanswered. As did lack of info when I was checking out...no final bill was given nor offered. Only bill for duvet. NOT good business practice.
