Gelet op de prijs-prestatie was dit een prima hotel voor een weekend Rome. Kamer was schoon en netjes en goed onderhouden. Vanuit hotel Gambrius is de stad goed te belopen, Metro op ca. 10 minuten lopen. Aanbeveling: pizzeria aan de overkant van het hotel.

Great hotel very near to the Termini station. Its approx a 10-min walk from the station. The staff was courteous and very helpful explaining the tourist spots. The stuff was wonderful but the hotel location was far from the city center and most of the attraction (20-30 minute walk for the closest attractions) the rooms were really small and breakfast was not that good.

The Hotel and room were great. Breakfast & internet is included which is always great. The room was fairly large and the bed was a king so my husband and I were pretty happy with the space. The only issue with the room was that they put us near this back alleyway where all the exhaust pipes and large renovations were occuring in the building next to […] the hotel...People aparments were very close by and you can hear them talking constantly as it is like a tunnel where everything echos. We were there in November this yr and Rome is generallly still warm a around 60's to 70's so we needed to open the windows so the room would not be too hot for sleeping. As soon as we open the window the smell was awful. All the heating and sewage and whatever else exhaust and such were just permeating directly in to our room. Made for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep also when the neighbors in the aparments or the men renovating came in and all the noises echoed through to our room. An Ok hotel with nothing special, but definitely NOT a four star, and not worth the rate. The overall appearance was outdated and not impressive. My room was small but I could live with it since I was by myself and it was in Europe. Also again, the King bed was the combo of two twins, so I had to use only one half of the area to avoid getting stuck […] in the middle. Wifi is very slow. It does not come with a full service business center with even a printer. I had a lot of trouble trying to get my reservation voucher for the vatican musei onto a piece of paper. Eventually I had to email my voucher to the guy at the front desk, who was so nice to print it out for me and delivered it to my room! The hotel is not particularly close to anything, not even a metro station. It was again Ok because Rome is not that huge, but still, I spent a lot time walking on the not so interesting streets everyday. In general, this was not a very impressive hotel, but all staff I met were very friendly and helpful. It is not conveniently situated, but on the other hand, is somewhat quite. So it is probably not the best choice for someone that has a tight schedule or big ambition. However, it might be ideal for those who want to escape from the huge crowd and enjoy a bit more peacefulness. I'll probably return if I can get a good rate since I have already been to most hot spots, which I believe constitutes no more than 20% of what the eternal city has to offer. Lees meer

The guy who took our bags upstairs told us very little and was irritable. He showed us where the phone was but told us little else. (The phone as if it's not 2012?) We booked the room through Expedia's unpublished rate offer. Because we paid so little, we were satisfied with our stay. However, had we paid the full amount, we would have been very disappointed. enjoyed our stay very much. staff very friendly and helpful. about 15mins walk to nearest metro which will get you to most points of interest. would recommend get shuttle bus from airport to city centre then metro to piazza del Repubblica then a taxi to the hotel. that good would go back again.

This was a great little hotel near most embassies in an upscale neighborhood of Rome. We found the hotel staff to be extremely patient and helpful with us on our first trip to Italy. The neighboring restaurants also offered helpful, friendly staff and great food choices that aren't right in the middle of all the tourist attractions, so we found the […] quality of the food to be a better than closer in to the center of the city. We had an adjoining room with our 10- and 12-year old and, although their room was tight and small, the bathroom was quite spacious. The rooms definitely accommodated our needs for sleep and showers, and we were fairly pleased with the breakfasts that were included with our rooms. We found the hotel to be in a excellent position to see Rome thoroughly, we quickly realised that we needed to purchase a map of the bus system in Rome as the Metro is very limited. We thoroughly enjoyoued our stay at Hotel Gambrinus Rome. Fabio and the other staff were very welcoming and friendly, and easily arranged for a taxi to pick-up and drop-off at the airport. Booked a classic double room, plenty of space and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast buffet selection available at sensible hours. This hotel is a bit northwest of center, and priced at about half of the hotels in center for the same quality from what i could tell. When the room was cleaned in the day they moved all my stuff around - everything, which was a bit unusual, but at least the room was clean and orderly. Not far from the train and i think there are buses for the km or 2 to center (all of which is included if you do the Roma pass) but didnt figure the bus route out as i'm a walker (hiker in fact). The Hotel is a 15 minutes walk from the Termini station. It is located in a quiet area of Rome, There's a handfull of resttaurants around. Our room was on the first floor facing the opposite side of the street so it was very quiet. It was small but clean. We had a double bed a table and an armoire for clothes. Although Hotel Gambrinus is well situated and in a quiet, safe location there are a few things that disappointed us. Firstly the room we had was very,very small - hardly a double room. During our stay the hall surrounding our room was being decorated which was awkward and we had to negotiate around the painters several times. Would it not have made […] sense to have allocated a room on another floor as the hotel was not full to our knowledge? Our room was cleaned every day but sheets were not changed during the whole week. Toiletries and tea/coffee were not replenished and worst of all, the cleaner threw out our newspapers and magazines - at this point we did have to complain. Only the teabags appeared. We also did not understand why we were both charged the city tax when it appeared on our schedule as per room. All that said, the staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good and free wifi in the lobby area a bonus. Doubt if we would return to Gambrinus but certainly to Rome.
