Over all the hotel was great but unfortunately was undergoing maintenance during my visit. It got pretty loud pretty early in the morning.

The train station is in the downstairs of the mall so we didn't have to go outside to catch the metro! There was a great mall attached as well. Great buffet breakfast and the rooms were very nice. Wish every hotel was like this one!

We enjoyed our stay. We had no problems or complaints and the service was very good. They were very polite, friendly and quick to bring extra towels, pillows, etc...We will definitely stay here again. The garage is still bad, but you can't beat the location on the metro. And the buffet breakfast is a HUGE hit with my kids.

It was good. But not without it's issues. When we first arrived, the hotel apparently had no idea that five of us were staying there. There were only two towels, not enough pillows , shampoo, sheets or blankets for everyone, etc. But they got that fixed, and everything was nice and smooth after that. We stayed here over the Christmas holiday. The room and service were fine, but the breakfast left something to be desired. A little more cheerful food staff would have been nice. Pillows were lacking in quality. And the parking garage needs more clearly marked signage.

This hotel was our home for 9 days over Christmas. The place was perfect for our family. The daily breakfasts made it an ever better value. Most surprising was the staff. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. Wifi was the only shortcoming. ES should be proud of this place!

I recomend this hotel to everybody,it is not close to the most important places but the metro is inside the hotel and it will take you everywhere,there are a lot of restaurants around,and breakfast is included.

Quality of the room was not where it needs to be for a price this high. The happy hour was very very disappointing. All they had for food is chips and dip...weak sauce. Parking is easy but $24 a night which is crazy.Overall it is nice but expensive. There is good shopping and places to eat in walking distance.

I have stayed in this hotel twice in last month - 3 nights each time. The hotel is built inside a big open mall that was going through renovation during the first stay. It was a bit of a mess due to the construction but they took pains to make it comfortable and it was a good stay. My recent stay has just concluded and the construction is done. It's […] nice that it's more finished, but since the hotel opens out into big mall area, which is now re-opened, the noise level in the rooms has gone up quite a bit. I didn't enjoy that. Hotel entrance is right at the Friendship Heights metro station (you don't even have to go outside now that the construction is done) so that's nice. Only a 10-15 minute metro ride to center of Washington DC. Plenty of nearby shopping and lots of restaurants both inside and outside of the mall. This Embassy Suites is located next to the Friendship Heights Metro Station (red line) so it's an extremely convenient location to get to from Reagan or downtown. They are still doing renovations in the Chevy Chase Plaza, but most stores & associated amenties are open. The escalators to the Metro have reopened (they were closed for renovation earlier […] this fall), and some new stores are finishing their renovations for openings. H&M isn't open yet, but it looks like most of the other stores are open. My HQ is next door, so for me this is extremely convenient. The Cheesecake Factory and Mangiioni's are next door, and PF Chang's (among many others) are across the street. Also close to high-end shopping. Lees meer

My boyfriend and I decided stayed here last minute so we wouldn't have to drive home after my company holiday party. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the room, specifically the bathroom and bathtub (they have Crabtree and Evelyn products which was nice). I loved that there was a separate tv room and bar area. Our room was located right in […] front of the elevators, but we weren't bothered a bit by noise because we just shut the interior door and slept perfectly! The location of the hotel is wonderful; it is literally steps to great stores and restaurants! The cocktail hour was very nice (sangria was delicious!) and the free breakfast exceeded expectations. My only complaint is that when we got off the elevator from the parking garage it was hard to figure out which direction we should go to to get to the hotel... maybe we took the wrong elevator because when we left the hotel there was a separate "Parking Garage" elevator right near the hotel lobby. Overall it was a great experience and if all Embassy Suites are like this it will be my top hotel choice in the future. Lees meer

Very close to METRO, so easy to get around despite being out toward MD. Recently renovated. Excellent value and often special low prices. Great for American University visitors.

My stay was good - the only negative part was the parking! The garage is tight but that wasn't the problem. We were given a "voucher" to have access in and out without charges. the voucher was accepted but when I received my final bill, there was a $24 charge for parking. The hotel is very conveniently located in Friendship Heights (Chevy Chase), right across from the Metro station. It's part of a small shopping center. Very friendly & helpful staff. Nice stay despite Chevy Chase mall being closed for remodeling. Workers were active until late at night, trying to complete noisy & dusty construction for re-opening on Nov. 19th. This hotel would normally be really good but it is embedded in a shopping mall that is currently undergoing the biggest renovation I ever saw in a facility of this kind. When finished, the hotel will be even more desirable than before, but during construction it is not so pleasant. The hotel is trying to do a good job for its customers during this period […] but it's hard. There is an abundance of dust flying at times and certainly plenty of noise during the daytime working hours. I believe that renovations are to be complete around year end so I would be careful booking this until then. We had a great stay except for the construction noise in the atrium that went 24/7. It was fine if sleeping in the bedroom, but when sleeping with my child in the front room, it was pretty loud all night. Other than that - a great stay. Nice hotel, convenient to lots of shops and restaurants. Right now they are undergoing renovations, so it is noisy and a bit of a mess getting around; however, everyone was accommodating and helpful. The room was fabulous--spacious suite, very comfortable! Great cheesecake Factory connected to hotel! Parking is expensive.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was. It is right on the Metro which makes it very easy to get around. There's a Whole Foods and shopping center nearby. I was here for work and was very pleased with my room. It was large, had a flat screen TV, nice bathroom and desk to work on. We always stay in an embassy suites, however this one was not quite worth the price. After paying a higher noghtly rate than most other embassy suites, we realized we didn't read the details and were charged an large extra fee per night for parking in a huge parking garage which required us to walk a good deal to the elevator to the hotel. Liked the the light coming from the dome, the bed was comfortable, friendly staff, also helpful in helping us get to downtown DC. Train picked up without going out doors and about 1/2 hour to DC.

Hotel priced as 5 star hotel, when it is just a nice 4 star hotel. Clean, no major complaints...they should skip the free wine as it was so cheap and disgusting I was sorry I had a sip.

Staff are very service focused and friendly, we only had one employee who was not service focused. The renovation is more than we thought it would be and the mall below really does not exist. There was a late night disturbance and we expressed our concern the next morning and we were told the manager would call us ( did not hear from them). We asked […] to move rooms as we found it noisier on the third floor closer to the restaurant, they were not going to move us as we booked through expedia but the desk manager agreed and moved us to a much larger room at the end of the hall. In the end, they have their hands full with the reno but the staff all seem focused on service which overcomes some of that. The restaraunt staff who clean the tables up are amazing and the most polite in the hotel. The lady who tends the bar at the night reception was also exceptionally friendly Lees meer

We stayed during the construction, and other than seeing the canopy in the center of the hotel, we had no direct affect. It did make parking a little tight, but otherwise it caused no disruption to our stay. We would definitely stay here again, very easy to get on and off the metro and great shopping/dining surrounding the area. Also an easy commute […] to the hotel off the highway.
