I absolutely loved my stay here. Staff were friendly, rooms are cute and quaint but above all very clean. My room was on the second floor to the left down one of the halls so as far as noise was concerned had no issues getting some zzzZZzzs...it's a pretty central walk to Temple Square and all the shops. Stayed at the Perry Hotel for business. Managed to swing a queen suite; very roomy, wonderfully comfortable beds, small bathrooms, fridge and micro additional fee. Staff was extremely accommodating, and helpful. I will be staying there again!

I loved the hotel. However, I am very upset that there was NO hotel parking for free. The rates are TOO HIGH to have to pay for parking as well. Also the parking was not clearly marked so I ended up with a parking ticket.

Very helpful and friendly staff and a cozy, and elegant historical hotel. The Peery is within easy walking distance to tons of restaurants, shopping, must-see sights and the convention center. Many excellent restaurants nearby; it's across the street from Ruth's Chris and just down the block from PF Changs, to name just a couple.

Enjoyed the very helpful/friendly bellman! Room was nice, bed very comfortable, clean....the only downside was that it was rather stuffy temperature-wise. Airconditioner didnt work well , couldnt open windows. Other than that , stay was delightful :)

Nice and nice memory foam on bed but under foam is the usual hard hotel bed. Why can't hotel beds be softer?

This was a great hotel for a romantic getaway. It's location is perfect, a short walk from Temple Square, Bruges Waffles & Fries, The Gateway, and Vosen's Paradise Bakery (the waffles and bakery are AMAZING). The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Unfortunately, turning on the air conditioning is like turning your room in a wind tunnel, […] minus the movement of cold air. It was ridiculously loud, and after several hours, we were just as hot as before, sleeping on complete oposite sides of the bed. Better value elsewhere. Hotel is historic and needs some TLC in side the rooms, hallways etc. My main beef was the Internet was poor. The big issues for the low rating was the AC did not work in the room and I could not open any windows. IT was hot all night.

Bed has memory foam, fill good at first, but regular hard hotel bed underneath. Why are all hotel beds stiff as a board.

We got back to our room at 10pm to settle in for the night after a long day of traveling. The room was small, but comfortable. The bed was great. The neighboring room must have had 30 people in it. We called down to the desk and they did come and ask them to quite down a bit. At 3am we werre still up with the noise and the night staff didn't seem to […] be doing anything about. It wasn't until we finally demanded a room across the hotel did we get some sleep that night. We canceled our stay for the following nights and WILL NOT be staying here again. Its a grate place to stay if you like the night life some grate bar that you can walk to. rooms are little but not bad. had a good time there would go back.

Wonderful stay, very nice staff and walking distance to just about everything downtown. They even upgraded us to a suite when I asked because it was our anniversary. The hotel is a little outdated, but it was built over 150 years ago, so this adds a little bit to its charm. Not very hip or trendy, but the location was excellent.

I'm usually not a fan or historic hotels however, the Peery is a great hotel with a great location. Our room was very comfortable and the bed (tempurpedic) outstanding. Becuase it's an older hotel, don't expect a massive room and/or bathroom but it still had all of the amenities of any new chain hotel. The only disappointing part was the "Pub" which […] was dead and seemed cold. I booked a room with a Queen bed and a sofa bed thru a HOTELS.COM Agent. However, when I arrived at the Perry Hotel the HOTELS.COM Agent did NOT input it correctly and messed up my reservation. Then I had to pay $44 more than the original price. Very frustrating. The Queen bed was very comfortable and nice stay.

There is only on street parking at this hotel or valet for $12, but the location is good, loved the high ceilings and the spacious feel.

The old world historic charm was lovely, and the memory foam mattress was very comfortable. This hotel may not have all the ammenities as far as breakfast &/or a computer, but I thought the value for the price was outstanding. The staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Plus booking on Hotels.com saved us even more.

I always look for vintage hotels in cities and am sometime disappointed...not this time! Lovely preservation and BIG comfy room. Tough to get early breakfast on the weekends, but other than limited food service, this hotel was just right.

Comfortable and quaint-- old style. Sink is in bedroom area-- bathroom has only toilet and shower stall which could use some updating. Otherwise comfortable, with a charming lobby area.

For some reason the hotel doesn't have soap in the showers. I had to go to the store and buy my own.

This hotel is a refreshing break from cookie-cutter hotels. You feel like you have stepped back in time, or are in Europe. It is within walking distance of many fabulous restaurants and shopping. The staff was so nice, friendly, and we felt like we knew them by the end of our stay. Starbucks every morning sure beats generic coffee you get at other hotels. […] The beds are amazing too! Very nice older hotel that is well maintained with the most comfortable beds!

Lousy area, got harassed in the parking lot by a beggar in the first 10 minutes of being there. Wouldn't go there again. Old, small, smelly.

Sweet little Boutique Hotel. The old building has antique qualities. Staff more then helpful. Forgot shoes in our room and the staff were great about the retrieval. Location is right downtown. Couple of bars in walking distance.

Lobby very pleasant & service at the desk excellent & helpful. I liked the cosiness of the hotel (only 3 stories) & how quiet it was compared to the large chains. I Free internet access, water & coffee in the lobby, nice touch. I would give it a perfect rating of 5's except for the fact on on the morning of my checkout (2/21) the elevator was out of […] order. But someone at the desk helped me with my bags. They called the shuttle for me to the airport (the night before). The personal service is really outstanding. Good Restaurants within walking distance, too & I walked easily to the Convention Center for meetings all 3 days I was there. Lees meer

This hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating...but perhaps a high 3-star. Always a disappointment to arrive at a 4-star destination only to be surprised and feel duped. I would have gladly paid a slightly higher price for a better hotel.

The Peery is a 100-year old hotel, well-maintained, but showing its age. The rooms are small, but comfortable. I ended up in 2 different rooms, the first didn't have working heat (in winter), and the 2nd had a non-working tv & sink, plus the bathroom setup was weird, with the sink in the room itself. To be expected when you try to make a modern hotel […] out of an old building not designed for every room to have its own bathroom, but still odd. Maintenance fixed everything quickly. The people are wonderful, the location walkable to everything I needed access to. If you're looking for a small European-style hotel with 19th century charm, this is it. Nice older western style building built in 1910. Nice staff and great location but I would not stay at this hotel unless you are looking for an older hotel boutique experience. It does not live up to its Internet marketing and for me the kiss of death was waking up to a cold shower.

It was ok based on location and staff was friendly. A couple of the front desk people seemed to not have any idea what they were doing. You wake up to the sound of construction or something outside and the cleaning people singing/ whistling so if you want to sleep in this is not your hotel. I love historic hotels, and this was was very charming, but the website makes it all look a little more swanky than what I experienced. I would probably return again if I'm back in Salt Lake City, but a few things to note for other travelers: 1. There was no coffee pot in the room. But I asked for one, and they brought it up, so problem solved. 2. The […] exercise room is in the basement (which I don't love...it feels remote and not totally safe), and they don't have a water cooler in there nor did they have any towels. No big deal--they had water to buy in a machine that was also downstairs, and I could have gone up to get a towel, but it was little things that I'm used to expecting. 3. There is no breakfast available (free or for purchase)--and nothing next door. There are some options that open at 7 (which is really late for me because I'm usually on Eastern or Central time), and were supposed to be a short walk away, but nothing I could just order or grab and go back to my room to get ready for my meeting. 4. The room was comfy but the furniture was a little beat up. The bed was very nice and the linens were really comfy, so that was great. 5. I had a no smoking room, but I could still smell old smoke and the perfume-y smell of covering it up. Maybe someone actually smoked in the room before me, or maybe it's just an old hotel and those smells are hard to eliminate. However, given all this, I did enjoy myself. The location was perfect (right downtown), there were lots of places to eat lunch and dinner nearby. I liked that I could go up and down nice stairs rather than having to use the elevator (I hate in big hotels that I'm forced to use elevators or seek out the staff stairways that they always seem to hide). I liked the old bar downstairs (didn't try anything, but it had character). The staff was pleasant and laid back. Nice, clean hotel. Only downside is you have to pay to park there and my car was broken into in the pay lot. But I guess that is not the hotel's fault.

Enjoyed the quaint & historical hotel with modern touches-very comfy beds, flatscreens, plush towels and clean rooms. Friendly & helpful staff, great downtown location- walked to nearby restaurants & theaters. Got the larger room on the corner-worth it. Great value, we will be back for a SLC downtown stay again!

We stayed at the Peery Hotel for our honeymoon. When we walked in we knew it was going to be a beautiful hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and their complimentary water with the fruit in it was delicious. The hotel desk staff and valet parking staff were so helpful and recommended places to shop, eat and the best routes to take to those places. I would recommend this hotel, it is very cute and boutique like. The only problem I faced was the tub not draining...it seems all hotels in Salt Lk City, Utah had issues with the tub draining - go figure! I would recommend this hotel for your stay it is exceptionally clean and the people are very nice.

The only complaint that I have is that a pool was advertised as an amenity, but there was no pool.

Everything about the quaint little downtowen hotel was great. The one problem we had is that we couldn't get the heat in one of our rooms to come up warm ernough. We wshopuled have said something to the front desk, but it wasn't that bad. Overall everything was very good.

So the service was great. Friendly staff and laid back. The building is pretty old but very charming. However our room was right by the elevator, which was beyond just a few people load; we could here EVERY part of the machine. Kept me up most of the night. And it was New Years week so it was busy. No room change... Remember to that you are in Downtown […] Salt Lake... Its not the best place to walk around at night alone. (first time in Salt Lake) Oh and parking is a joke. $10, $12, or meter... Seriously. Nothing was free which seems just.outrageous! Plus the maids just opened the door without knocking 3 times in about a 10 minute period 2 hours before checkout... Lees meer

The Peery Hotel is very clean and the lobby is beautiful. It is also conveniently located in downtown SLC and within walking distance of many good eateries and sites. They offer fantastic memory foam matresses and snow-white, super soft linens and pillows. That's where the 'good' ends. The hotel staff are blandly decent, (with the exception of the […] cool, hardworking valet), at best to downright grumpy at worst. The desk clerk was unhelpful and terse. Our room lacked privacy sheers. I mentioned this to her and asked for her help. She honestly seemed put out. She told me that she would tell maintenance. We left for the day and when we returned six hours later, still no curtains. We were left with only a blackout blind. We were left with two choices: either exist in the depressing small dark space or open the blind and parade nude in front of our window to the chargrin of our neighbors across the way, (their window was directly across from ours - the only window in the room). Also, we were never offered a different room. The bathtub stopper was broken so no bath after a long day of walking. After my experience with the curt, unresponsive clerk I simply chose not to ask for it to be repaired. The room, (and the hotel), is charming and old, however it is in need of some very basic upgrades, namely to its HVAC system. The room was constantly burning hot and the central air sounded like a prop plane warming-up above us all night. The doors are vintage and unreinforced. Hence, one can hear everything that goes on in the hallway as if it is happening right inside one's room. The cleaning staff is incredibly oblivious to this fact and holler back and forth down the hallway in the morning. Not great if you've been up all night tossing in the heat of the room beneath the "plane engine" central air system. I've stayed in many boutique and vintage hotels before and this one is simply in need of a new staff and serious upgrades for their guest's comfort and privacy. I'm willing Lees meer

Excellent bed! We were pleased that the street this hotel is located on was quiet in spite of all of the Christmas activity in the downtown area. This quaint hotel has a wonderful atmosphere reminicent of the early 1900's. Parking costs extra, but it is very convienient to theatres, shopping, and a short walk to temple square.
