I stayed here during the Canton fair so the prices were over USD$300 per night. Definitely not worth the money. My bed was broken, the room has old furniture dating back to the 80's would be my guess. However, good location, great Gym for a Chinese owned hotel. not worth more than $150/night.

This hotel should not be ranked as 5 star. The room is small,old bed is not confortable. However the garden inside the hotel is pretty. That is only what you paid for

The hotel lobby, hallways and staff were very nice. However, my room was not very clean and I had to have a cleaning person come and scrub food etc off of my walls when I arrived. I really expected a more updated room for the price.

THE HOTEL FACILITIES LOOK GREAT! THE LOCATION IS REALLY THE KEY , MANY STORE RESTAURANTS (INTERNATIONAL FOOD) AROUND THE AREA. YOU DONT REALLY NEED CAR OR TAXI IF YOU STAY HERE. THE CONCIERGE WAS VERY HELPFUL , WE HAD AN ISSUE WITH OUR WALLET AND THEY CONCIERGE LOCATED OR WALLET IN THE TRAIN STATION , INCREDIBLE! THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE ROOMS […] ARE OLD SMALL AND NOT VERY WELL ARRANGED , MINE HAS ALMOST NO ACOUSTIC ABSORPTION SO , THE SNORES OF MY BUSINESS PARTNERS WERE BOOSTED BY THE ACOUSTICS OF THE ROOM . HAVING SAID THAT WHEN I WROTE A REVIEW THE MANAGER SEND ME A EMAIL LETTING ME KNOW A MAJOR ROOMS RENOVATION IS COMING. my husband was planning to book the Crown but booked the Garden by mistake, and turned out the booking can't be canceled. The hotel locates in business area right next to metro station. the room is quiet old. beds are hard. The Cantonese restaurant on the 2nd floor is very good. Anyway, with the same price, there are much better choices than this.

There was a metro outside the hotel however the hotel is not close to the bustling markets/shopping/restaurants part of town. The hotel and rooms were also fairly dated and was not as impressive as I had envisiged it would be.

Chinese friends recommended this hotel, I lived in this and another hotel that was cheaper and in my opinion better. Gz was our last leg during our china trip and we were glad we booked garden hotel after staying in various 3-4 star hotels throughout china. The huge mural wall at reception was impressive. Rooms were standard, not new but comfortable and spacious. The hotel's Lai Wan restaurant was outstanding, we had our late dinner there as it was raining. located […] right next to an MRT station so especially convenient during a rainy day when there's no cab. we stayed one night in a club room. room was great. although not a bargain when you factor in evening snack and cocktail and free breakfast, as well as an included transfer to the airport it becomes a good deal. big hotel. Garden Hotel in Guangzhou This “grand dame” of Chinese hotels is still a wonderful place to stay. The staff is excellent, the rooms great, a good experience all around. Food in the restaurants is excellent. The downside is that anything other than the room rate is rather expensive. We stayed here for the trade fair and found the hotel to be well set up for business travellers. We stayed in an Executive room with free internet and business facilities available. Free shuttle bus to and from the fair was available too. The Garden is an historical hotel in Guangzhou. It is huge and has an impressive lobby. Location is good, center of the city, easy to access by metro, taxi.... Building and rooms are aging. Not yet to a point of being a Don't go, but clearly the good years are past. Food and Beverage are pricy. Breakfast buffet is so so. The location was a winner with bars and shops nearby. Hotel service was quick and friendly - order a burger to your room in less than 20 mins!! Would defo stay there again. Nearly forgot to say that I got a free upgrade to a suite!!!!

We have stayed at the Garden Hotel quite a few times over the last half dozen years or so and have had various rooms including executive floor. This time I booked an Elite room but was upgraded to a suite, the second time this has happened. These are very pleasant with separate bedroom and lounge, and a bathroom which meets my demanding standards in […] separate shower and temperature control etc. This is probably the best hotel experience in China over this winter season across about 20 cities so I recommend it strongly. As a note, however, the executive rooms are not worth the premium in my opinion and nowhere up to the usual standard in the international chain hotels. But the area is so good for eating out... yes~ it was eoungh to satisfact. I've been upgraded so stayed at Delux room. I recommend you a nice dimsum restourant at 3rd floor. There are so yummy dimsum(Shanghai Sharoong Bao). FEICHANG HAOCHI!!!!

The room was wonderful, the French restaurant even better...First class food, service and atmosphere (piano, all window seats, candles, no crowds, loud voices or mobile phones and fair prices!) The seafood (advert targets the Boston lobster) buffet in the revolving restaurant was just OK, not great...lots of lobster shells, but very little lobster...no […] scallops, so the price of virtually $500 HKD per person is way too expensive, despite the great view.The breakfast buffet, never again...too many people with NO manners, plus the English skills of the staff were poor. I ordered, by pointing at the menu, 2 eggs any style, ham, potato, toast...got a boiled egg and half an hour later, an omelet. The coffee was brutal and served in a chilled cup, outside by the pond, and made the horrible coffee even colder. I sat outside to avoid the disgusting circus inside near the buffet. That worked for a while, but people soon found their way outside to feed the fish with their scraps. The bar/lounge on the first floor offers excellent choices and service. I will go back to The Garden...but Starbucks around the corner offers a sufficient breakfast/coffee...and I should have known better than to attend a buffet. Limit yourself to the bar/lounge and the french restaurant and you will have a wonderful time for a decent/fair price. Lees meer

Great hotel, was upgraded to a remodeled suit which is 2 rooms (beatiful and very comfortable). Great location with many restaurants, few bars and a club all on walking distance.

Every time I stay at the Garden I feel right at home. I just love it when I walk into the lobby after a long flight or a hard day, it is a very " Grand" and relaxing sensation.
