Hampton Inn Charlotte - University Place in Charlotte

This is the perfect place if you want to stay on the north side of Charlotte. It is a very simple drive to reach downtown on the same street as the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and a so-so selection for shopping. Morning breakfast offerings were acceptable and convenient.

This was a nice hotel centrally located near the University. Reception desk extremely courteous and room clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, I was awakened at 9:20 by housekeeping staff. There had been no "Do not disturb" sign for me to put out so they knocked on the door. I was not happy since check-out isn't until noon! Close to UNCC. Located on major raod.

This is our 2nd stay at the Hampton Inn. The front desk staff are always pleasant and answer all my questions about the area. The rooms are always clean and reasonably priced. We'll stay there the next we're in Charlotte.

Booked this Hotel online from the UK after reading reviews. Very glad I did as the location could not have been better ie: shops, restaurants, great neighbourhood etc. First time in Charlotte so unsure where to stay. I made the right choice ! May I say how enjoyable our stay was in Charlotte.Great city and good people.

Let me start off by saying the staff at this hotel was extremely nice. Everyone we ran into was polite and friendly. We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM, and although check-in wasn't until much later, they found a room for us. The room was a little warm for my taste and the A/C seemed to take a bit to cool it off. Other than that the room was clean […] and set up fine. One thing I don't like about the Hampton Inn are the beds. They are very soft, so if you enjoy that extra support don't expect it here. Conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. Our room was very quiet and comfortable.

I chose this hotel because it had relatively good reviews. But don't stay here. Reception is disinterested/borderline rude, the bathroom was filthy, and the room was average. There was a huge water mess outside one of the other rooms and when I told reception, they acted like I was wasting their time. Not good. I would have gladly spent another $25-$40 […] to stay somewhere else. Lees meer

The beds were comfortable and it was clean. Carpets needed cleaning that would be my only complaint. They gave off an odor.

Great location. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Typical Hampton Inn. Breakfast wasn't as good as I've seen at other Hampton Inns.

This hotel was close all the shopping places and many places to eat. The staff was wonderful. Its a great place to stay.

It's not the Ritz, but it's not Super 8 either. Friendly staff, good free breakfast, and pretty nice fitness facility. My room was clean and the hotel was quiet...maybe just due to inoccupancy, but it was nice. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is nicely updated and pretty stylish for a chain. Clean, roomy, decent continental breakfast. The only down side was that when we returned for a repeat stay a few days after our first stay, they were overbooked and didn't have a room. They gave us a voucher for a free stay nearby (since we had already paid through hotels.com) but this wasn't […] exactly great customer service. The Hampton Inn Charlotte is near the UNC campus in an area with a good number of hotels, fast food and chain restaurants, conveniently located just off Route 85. Our room was comfortable (nice fluffy synthetic pillows that are as soft as down), clean and spacious enough. The staff at the hotel was so universally friendly and helpful they enhanced […] our experience during our stay. You don't usually find that at a mid-priced chain. They were exceptional. Very Nice room Comfortable beds, Great buffet in the morning and Manager's dinner reception in the evening. Only negative: Dirt marks on bathroom door & one wall.

The hotel is in a prime location - it's close to I-85, the University, and not far from Uptown Charlotte. There are a number of good restaurants around, Cheddars being one of my favorites. Our room was quite clean and comfortable. It was also nice to have continental breakfast available. At one point, during the late morning hours, there were some […] fairly noisy occupants. But we were getting ready to go out so they did not disturb us for long. We didn't hear them in our room, only as we were riding in the elevator from the lobby to the 6th floor. I was very pleased with the quality of the room. The night desk clerk acted quite irritated that she had to check me in. With the exception of the night desk clerk, ALL the rest of the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Convenient location in a very nice area, the complimentary breakfast is amazing, I love it.

Great Rate on a comfortable room. Finding a refrigerator and microwave was an added bonus.

When I called the front desk to find a place to go out for some drinks the front desk lady (Linda) was very rude and impatient. She informed us that there was only one place and once asked about strip clubs she said there was none, but we found two. She may not have agreed with what my friend and I do but at least have knowledge of the area

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend for the race. It was close to the track and other conviences. They had a shuttle, $35 per person, that took us to and from the track.
